"Incredible view even through the haze of fog . Friendly staff who are willing to take the time and not rush us through an amazing dinner. Both my husband and I ordered grilled sea bass on a bed of saffron risotto with chorizo. Every morsel of this dish was delicious and prepared to perfection. We definitely plan to return and bring friends. Also hope to attend one of the bourbon tastings that are offered during the week."

"This was my first time at Cusp. It was FABULOUS!!! Food was unique and delicious, service was wonderful (not too much, not too little, just right). And the cocktail list is very fun. I loved the spicy Remember the Mayans. And the Toasted Quinoa app was to die for (we ordered seconds)! The remodel is beautiful, contemporary, funky, and the view is still awesome. I will definitely be back."

"My wife and I really enjoyed our evening dinner at Cusp of La Jolla. The food was great we had the Mussels with chorrizo and the Ceviche of the day for starters with a few drinks that were tasty and complimented our meal. Our entrees were great and we left the restaurant with a great impression and satisfied by the taste, quantity & quality of the food, the friendly and attentive service of our server Joey who was very kind and helpful and the ambiance. The restaurant also features a great view of La Jolla the water and sunsets if you're fortunate enough to dine as the sun goes down. We will definitely return and bring some of our friends to the restaurant."

"Brought my family for a birthday celebration and Cusp didn't disappoint! First, the view is amazing! Second, the food is blissful. We had the famed pepperoni rolls and the Dungeness crab "tostada" to start...amazing. I couldn't get enough! Various members tried the jidori chicken, pasta of the day and the Moroccan salmon. All were SO good. I LOVED mine though...when the chef heard I couldn't decide between the gnocchi and the duck confit, he prepared a special order of gnocchi mixed with mushrooms and duck confit. I was in heaven. We ordered the three desserts listed on the menu to split. I can't decide which was my favorite. Maybe the apple fritters, if I had to choose?! So happy we came here...truly made for a memorable birthd"

"Oh my gosh, we love this place and have eaten at Cusp several times. The chief, Donald, is fabulous and he has never disappointed! If you love great food and enjoy memorable dining experiences this is the place for you! There aren't many places in the San Diego area that truly have this level of gourmet dining."

"The View from the 11th floor of the La Jolla cove is impressive and commanding. We dined at 5:30 PM and had a great view the entire time. It was a Sunday and not very busy. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The food is very good. It is a great spot for smaller groups, romantic meals, special occasions. We were seated next to a family with 3 young children who were all well behaved. Not recommended for small children who cannot sit still."

"The service was AMAZING, and we had a lot of fun talking with our server and the bartenders. The view is delightful and the space of the restaurant is unique in a way that's is spacious but cozy, with so much style. Our food and drink were outstanding and my gluten free diet was catered to without question. I can not wait to go back!"

"This was a first time visit since it was remodeled and renamed. It was also our Anniversary and the staff overwhelmed us with such special attention that we immediately put Cusps on our 'must return' list. We look forward to revisiting again and again."

"Hostess seated us at table with open window & wind blowing in my face/body. I didn't know it was an open window and said the A/C was too strong. She said it wasn't A/C but didn't explain what it was. I asked for a different table, she seated us at the next one and all she said was it's not A/C again and it's no big deal. Afterwards, I asked for the 1st table again due to the view, she finally said it was an open window and said it was no big deal. What idiot sits customers in front of an open window where it's blowing hard and says it's no big deal. Food so so. More for ambiance. The Waiter, nice guy, good service, didn't seem to know the menu too well. Seemed new. Main complaint-Hostess. Didn't say good by on way out. Gave me a stare."

"Modern restaurant with decor to match offering fantastic views over La Jolla. The modern take on Mediterranean food is beautifully presented, but the oversized plates can be a challenge to fit on the table. Our first time at the restaurant we left raving and telling everyone to go, the second time we left happy that we had a new restaurant in the hood, the next meal left us satisfied though not as happy as our previous dines, and this most recent time left us disappointed and wondering if we should give Cusp one more chance (it was after all Monday). Portions are not huge, the flatbreads, fresh pasta, and salmon are your best bets."

"We tried CUSP on a whim and really enjoyed it. First, they have an impressive cocktail program and make the drinks very well. I would return just for a Manhattan. I started with the crab salad flatbread, which was delicious. For entrees, I had the paparadelle with pork sauce, which was excellent. My spouse had the pasta special, lobster ravioli, which was truly delicious. All of the pasta is house made, which is impressive. We finished with the apple fritter; it's hard to dislike deep fried apples. Nice."

"We tried it a few nights earlier and were so impressed that we returned. Everything is notable, though the cocktails are extraordinary!
My spouse loves the Gimlet and I really liked the Manhattan.
We started with the crab salad flatbread, which was again wonderful. I tried the pepperoni rolls, which were quite good. My spouse had the baked rigatoni, and I had the paparadelle one more time. Everything was delicious.
The views of sunset over La Jolla are remarkable. We are really glad to have found CUSP!"

"Four of us enjoyed a delightful girlfriend lunch on a Wednesday, celebrating two birthdays. Service was outstanding; the warm and friendly staff made it special without being intrusive. Decor and ambiance were fresh, clean and modern, and of course the views were breath-taking; fun surprises were floor-to-ceiling view windows even in the ladies room, as well as soft sheer curtains along the hallway. Food presentation was photo-worthy, and we were all very pleased with our choices: curried chicken salad sandwich seasoned perfectly, four-cheese flatbread lush with rich delicious melt-y goodness, an irresistibly juicy cheeseburger, and perhaps best of all, mussels in a spicy chorizo-tomato broth! We'll definitely be returning!"

"Fabulous again! My new favorite place in San Diego. (I live in Denver) Had the salmon - delicious, and no carbs! Others had the Tomato Braised Eggplant and said it was a wonderful blend of spices, and the Sea Bass was amazing too. We of course had the Toasted Quinoa, X2, but also tried the Pork Belly - I'm not a fan of pork belly, but the sauce was delicious!
Will be back! Going to sit at the chef's counter next time!"

"Came with my friend for dinner. We started with the pepperoni rolls and toasted quinoa. Both were delicious, the rolls cheesy and comforting and the quinoa was light and refreshing. For dinner, we had the gnocchi and pork ragout. Both of the homemade pasta dishes were delicious. For dessert, we split the apple fritters. These too were very good with crunchy granola and creamy caramel. Servers were very attentive and the view was amazing (even though it was a foggy evening! We felt cozy inside!) My friend and I can't wait to go back!!"

"Excellent appetizer and dessert. However, both main courses, while imaginative, were bland and unremarkable. Too bad, we we're really excited for our first night out in months. Our server, a female former lacrosse player, was out of this world."

"Some years ago this property had a spectacular restaurant, but we went for brunch and were all disappointed by the mediocre food which did not live up to the menu description. Also, the hotel - which always had an ample self-park lot - now charges $3 to park your car (that's with the restaurant validation, folks). Very disappointed in the kimpton chain for not having a better understanding of what La Jollans expect from this classic property."

"Great cocktails, very creative and well crafted. Food was ok, it wasn't over the top as expected as we visited during restuarant week. I asked to see the full menu and was also suprised at how small and limited it was. Service, ambiance and views were spectacular!! This is someplace I would go for a drink or light appetizers."

"Appetizer: Mushroom flatbread pizza was tasteless and drowned in cheese. There were a few mushrooms.
Ordered the vegetable salad with salmon...forgot to ask for the dressing on the side, big mistake. a lake of dressing had gathered in the bottom of my bowl after my greens had been thoroughly drenched. the salmon was microscopic and not very fresh.
Our busboy was the most aggressive hovering young man I have ever encountered in a restaurant. he never once asked if we were finished, he repeatedly paced back and forth in front of and behind our table, lunged and GRABBED our plates, unfinished cocktails and bowls, all night long.
DISASTER of a restaurant. Will not return."
