Review 3 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"It was our first experience dining at the Summit Steak House. The service was good and the food was excellent. The french onion soup was really delicious. The chateau briand was very soft and tasty. My husband had a problem with the way he wanted his meat cooked which was well done. He had to send it back twice to get it well done. The manager came to apologize for the wait and also that it did not come well done the first time. He told my husband to order a dessert of his choice and coffee to make it up to him."

Review 4 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"This was our second time there. We realize that we need to go more often. Our server, Patty, is the BEST. We had a 5:00pm reservation, and we were seated right away. We were surprised that there were several families with small children there. But they didn't linger after dinner. We will go back again, soon, and we will request to be seated in Patty's section."

Review 5 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"We have been going to the Summit for more than twenty years and have seen it go from a fine dining establishment to an ordinary place to eat. You can fool some of the people with mediocre filets instead of Chateaubriand but most of us know the difference. Ours had been finished in a frying pan."

Review 6 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"Apparently kid-friendly, though we thought inappropriate to the level of cuisine. Should have been a romantic/special occasion setting. Service was slow, possibly due to 5280 specials. Ribeye was overdone. Salmon appetizer was nice, but missing crackers or bread. Cheesecake was average. At least the party with the shrieking child didn't stay for dessert."

Review 9 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"I was very disappointed with the Summit Steakhouse. I was really looking forward to a night out with my two daughters and after reading the reviews on Open Table we decided to give the Summit a try. The waitress was very pleasant, but clearly overextended the service was slow. The quality of the food was just fair. Next time I'll head downtown to Morton's."

Review 10 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"My husband and I visited The Summit for our first wedding anniversary and it was a perfect pick. The restaurant is quiet and very romantic. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. The wine/martini list was extravagant (I would highly recommend the Smores Martini) and the menu did not disappoint. The Summit claims to have the best French Onion soup in Denver. Since that particular soup happens to be my favorite and I have honestly tried it at every restaurant I have visited all around the country that offeres it, I was skeptical. The Summit does not lie. Hands down, this was the best French Onion soup that I have ever had! My husband ordered steak and I had the asparagus chicken, both of which we loved. We highly recommend!"

Review 14 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"A wonderful restaurant off the beaten path. While out of the way a bit in southern Aurora the Summit is an exceptional restaurant. The menu features a variety of entrees, however, beef really is the prime attraction at the Summit.
And the wine list contains many nice options.

Review 29 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"I had read several years ago in a flight magazine that Summit Steakhouse of Aurora was one of the 5 best steakhouses in America. This really surprised me as I didn't even know where Summit was located. Finally I was able to take a Saturday night and enjoy the most fabulous steak dinner I have had in a very long time. After traveling all over the U.S. and living in D.C. and NYC, I am impressed with the menu, and most of all the service. You are allowed to dine in a quiet peaceful environment with a wait staff that is the best I have ever had.Congratulations on a great restaurant and your food is beyond expectations. Review 30 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"For the prices charged the food is only average. I ordered the Talapia and it lacked the flavor I'm use to everywhere else I've had it. The vegetables with it were average and it was served with plain white rice and that plate was about $28. My spouse had the chicken with asparagus and the plate was overpowered with the cheese sauce covering it and that was the least expensive for $18. They are a steakhouse, but the last time I was there for steak it was again only average and the prices for steak are above $30 a plate. If I hadn't had my $25 gift certificate I would not have been pleased with the value for the cost."

"We had a great dining experience at The Summit. It was our 1st visit and we are sure to be back. We are looking forward to the new Sunday brunch they will soon start offering in February. The Summit also has a lively bar attached called the Cabin. My friends and I sat back, drank more wine, and enjoyed the band and the people watching."

Review 35 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"I knew from the online menu that this was going to be expensive, but I am shocked and completely regret going to this restaurant. My girlfriend ordered the 8 oz Filet and Lobster tail, the 8oz filet was a third the size of my 12 oz, then the lobster was the same size as her steak......$85, My 12oz Ribeye was cooked very well but no flavor, only seasoning was cracked pepper on top, I was expecting something special for the price $31, all told we had one alcoholic drink each, two dinners, the summit sampler, and no sides and my tab was $177 with just a %15 tip. The Ribeye's are better at Texas Roadhouse. The atmosphere was quiet and somewhat romantic with excellent service, but if you are looking for something special this is not it."

Review 38 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"Service was a little on the slow side. Food was very good. My wife had the surf and turf with an 8 oz filet which was cooked perfect and the bite I tried was one of the most tender cuts of meat I have ever enjoyed. I had the salmon which was also excellent. Portions were good sized and enough to fill me and my wife took home a box. Overall a good experience."

Review 39 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"My wife and I thought the music was not quite what we had expected. That night we were celarbrating how 38 aniversary and the music (hard rock)seemed out of place for the type of restaurant the Summit is viewed as. Maybe it was just that night but contempary jazz, a softer sounding music would have better serve the public.

Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to give my feedback!

Review 40 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"For the price, we expected a well polished wait staff, excellent service and an overall sophistocated experience. This was certainly not what we expected in ambiance, presentation (especially the salad) and quality of food (a stuffed tomatoe is not the same as a tomatoe wheel with a layer of crab stuffing.) Overpriced for the quality."

Review 43 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 1.0 out of 5 (Poor)
"Terrible Christmas Dinner - The service was slow, the food was lukewarm, we had to wait to eat (as it cooled further) while the waitperson dug up silverware and napkins for us. We feel we paid $100 plus tip for a dinner that worth maybe $20. We'll never return."

Review 44 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"We had Christmas day dinner reservations at The Summit. It was the only nice place open in this part of town, and was extremely busy. We arrived about 20 minutes early, but were seated in less than five minutes after arrival. Our table was in the small dining room off the bar. It was comfortable, but had more of a sports bar feel than an upscale dining room.

The service was excellent! I watched the hostess, waitresses, servers, and the bartender. They were friendly and efficient without any trace of an "I've gotta work on a holiday but don't really want to be here" attitude.

Don't have space to describe our meal. It was delicious, but a bit expensive.

We'll be back.

Review 46 for The Summit Steakhouse

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"christmas dinner for 4. pleasant staff, but not pushy. interior decor reflects a time past when good steakhouses had that rustic, western decor. the furnishings and decoratons seemed a bit worn, and the unknowing would be skeptical about the dinning experience. our dinner was excellent and portions plentiful (ask for "doggie box"). prices were attractive, and the wine list more extensive than one expects at a steak house. we had four separate selections for lunch and each was declared to be "good"-to-"excellent". but then, we are from texas, so what do we know about good steakhouse food??"

"Went to the Summit for Christmas Dinner. We had the holiday dinner and they were out of sweet potatoes and apple pie, I'm not exactly sure how you run out of that stuff when you advertise it as your holiday dinner. The food was good but it was not worth the $30 that we spent on it. Hopefully their regular menu is much better than what they were serving on Christmas night."

"I made reservations for my mother and I for Christmas Day lunch. They have a special menu for Christmas and/or you can order from the regular menu. We chose the Christmas dinner menu which included turkey and ham and all the fixings. The plate was piled high with food and the food was delicious. Our waiter even asked if we wanted second helpings of anything. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive without being a nuisance. The restaurant is definitely a gem in the neighborhood. The decor and ambiance is beautiful, yet homey and comfortable. I would highly recommend for special occasions or a romantic dinner for two. I will visit again!"
