"We came to an early dinner on Tuesday (Burger night and Lobster Rolls - yum) and brought our 1 yr old grand-daughter with us. The staff was very accommodating, and seated us in the big dining room with lots of room for Harper. They were super attentive both to the adults and made us feel welcome. The crabcakes with pretzels were simply AMAZING. And all the other dishes were excellent."

"I thoroughly enjoyed brunch at the Fromagerie. The ambience is lovely and the service was excellent. They started us off with delicious scones and a petite fresh banana smoothie before we headed off to the brunch buffet. My husband remarked several times that he would not need dinner later. He made 3 or 4 trips to the buffet, and he is not much of a breakfast guy. Bravo, Fromagerie!"

"Fromagerie was great as always. Celebrated our daughter's 17th birthday on burger night. Everyone enjoyed themselves, great burgers, drinks, nice choices for our 7 year old. Kids loved the birthday cake in a can (they bring you the beaters to lick:)) Not a regular night out with kids but a perfect "grown-up" special dinner for the whole family."

"My wife and I came to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, so our expectations were high. We arrived early so stopped at the bar, where the ambiance was fabulous, the service impeccable and the cocktails delicious. However, once we moved into the dining room, our experience quickly soured. It took the waitress ten minutes to make her way to our table, introduce herself and offer water. The rest of the evening she made us both feel as if she was doing us a favor, taking her time with every move while the dining room was only half full. The food was indeed spectacular, but she ruined this special evening."

"Food was very good, but the overall dining experience was a bit odd. Service was off and made for an interesting and long night. They took a very long time to find the wine we ordered but never came over to the table to let us know why it was taking so long. We finally asked for the wine and waiter said that the esommelier was not in and the staff was having trouble finding our selection. Waiters either didn't come over to our table or a few of them would come over and ask the same question. They were all very friendly but not in sync. I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt that it was an off night and have to try it one more time because we did enjoy our food and wine selections."

"Went for a late Sunday Brunch with my husband and wanted to try someplace new and nice. Food was good, but neither of us felt it was especially fancy or unique. Waffles, pancakes, salmon, fried chicken, prime rib - but no tasty, complex sauces or different flavors. Rather hum drum.Waitress did not know what the soup of the day was (mushroom). She suggested a Mimosa or Peach Bellini, but when i asked what the Peach Bellini was, she had no idea and couldn't say what was in it! Very unprofessional. Oddest part of brunch was when we got up to go for "round 2", we came back to sit down to find that they had completely cleared our table! Normally we pay our bill before leaving... Overall, not a great experience and not worth the price."

"We celebrated a birthday at David Burke Fromagerie and were not disappointed at all. We were there during Jersey Shore Restaurant week and took advantage of the 3 course prix fixe menu. There were plenty of choices for each course and all were delicious. The wait staff was attentive and accommodating. I had seen the Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell episode where the executive chef was chosen for this restaurant, which added to the experience. There were a couple of extras that were compliments of the chef that were a nice touch. All in all a great time was enjoyed and we look forward to going back."

"Considering we were rudely ignored for 20 minutes upon arriving for our reservation (this included the host/fill-in valet telling us it would be just 2 minutes so they could add two place settings to our table and then disappearing for 10 minutes), the evening did not start out well. Thanks to a friendly and engaging waiter, and Chef Phil Deffina's incredible food, we left quite happy. Fromagerie is usually much better when it comes to service upon walking in, so I'll chalk it up to them having an off night."

"My husband and I have been to Fromagerie many times dating back to the original family owned restaurant of years with its traditinal French flair and impeccable cuisine. David Burke brought a NY flair with innovative dishes and revamped decor. Our recent meal was fair at best for a four star reputation. The tuna tacos were delicious, fresh and had the relminiscent flair of DB. His signature pretzel encrusted crab cake was mushy, the quality of the crab was second rate. I ordered the short ribs, a personal favorite, which was dry and tasteless , the caveteli were starchy and the signature flavor of the dish was missing. The sea bass was fresh but lackluster. The decor is dated and becoming tired the lobby chairs very soiled."

"The food is always excellant. Unfortunately, the service was not, for what appeared to be a slow Sunday night. When we arrived at our table, the setting was missing a bread plate and fork which were delivered after I requested them. Our entres where provided but unfortunately our silverware had been taken. So we waited for a fresh set, After we started our meal, our waitress came by and saw that the topping was not on our meat, More time waiting for the busboy to be found and to dish out the topping. The meal and desert were great. Unfortunate for us, the service was not up to the standards we had experienced in the past."

"Loved the food, unfortunately not the service! Was not up to the usual professionalism & attention. Having 1 waitress for the entire upstairs on Friday night during Restaurant Week, was unacceptable. Server had 8 tables, including 1 with over 10 people. There was a delay in every aspect - from order taking, to getting drinks, to getting bread dishes, to having them cleared, to asking for another drink, (which the order of only 1 drink was wrong! "Romantic dining in an old house. Literally, you eat in a dining/living room. Very nice ambience and attentive service. The bar is in a different part of the house and had live music when we went on a Saturday night, which you could hear from the dining room. It wasn't too quiet or too fancy or too stuffy, but perfect for a date night. Dress up rather than down (business casual). Prices are on the high side but the food is delicious. Keep an eye out for restaurant week, you will get some great deals!"

"I had made a 7:45 reservation in the main dining room, however, we didn't get seated until 8:15 in the upstairs dining room. There was one server for the entire upstairs. The staff seemed overwhelmed and made for an uncomfortable evening. We waited a long time to place our order, the food came out slow and when we were finished out plates stayed in front of us for at least 15 minutes. After our main course was served I had to go to an unoccupied table to replace our silverware which was never replaced after our appetizers. The upstairs dining room lacked a "wow" factor you would associate with that type of restaurant. They never adjusted the lights and the decor was horrible.
It was a very disappointing night!"

"It's hard to give a fair review when it was Easter brunch. The food was great but we were sandwiched in among a number of large tables and barely saw our waitress. If you wanted an omelet (fortunately we didn't) you had to order with her and we were barely able to get water and coffee. However, the food was wonderful!"

"I was so disappointed when Fromagerie stopped offering their brunch buffet. It was one of my favorite things to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon. So I was so happy when they brought it back! Unfortunately they have seemed to cut corners while keeping the price the same. No kitchen items AT ALL. They used to have great offerings like the lobster dumplings or sliders. The buffet items were not as tasty or plentiful. One egg dish was absolutely gross. The oysters were tiny. Pancakes in chafing dish instead of made to order. No cheesecake lollipops, cotton candy (at least available when we were there) and the donut maker was broken. No live music or magician. I'll probably be back for brunch one day but the experience has lost its special quality."

"Hi, we went there last Sunday for brunch. The perfect day started with and extremely nice man parking out car. The ambience was great extremity cozy, perfect for a brunch. After the service personal found us, we received our drinks very fast. The brunch buffet was great and the variety very good, especially the sweet part. The only thing which wasn't perfect was that often the charcuterie was wiped out and not refilled and the oysters too. Next time I would be there earlier to really have enough time. We absolutely will be back."

"GREAT food. Service was not as good. We loved, LOVED the food. I would definitely travel there again for the food. We had a great brunch, probably the best brunch in NJ. Word of advice, dress up a little, and bring your undeserved attitude of haughtiness if you want the best service. Being nice and polite did not seem to cut it. The wait staff clearly catered to the "known" and well heeled clientele."
