House specialties, fresh seasonal dishes made with locally-raised seafood and produce, and savory desserts are carefully prepared by more than a dozen chefs in an open-dual kitchen. Our cuisine is complemented by a full bar and signature cocktails. Whether it’s for lunch, happy hour or dinner, we invite you to try a new way to buffet.
"We were a bit skeptical about going to the Five Star International Buffet after reading some of the customers' reviews. However, my friend and I found it to be quite satisfactory. The food was tasty, and the staff was friendly. Only drawback was that the portions on the buffet are small, so sometimes dishes ran out. In that case, we had to wait for the dishes to be replenished. For the price, you can't go wrong!"

"The food was excellent and our server was great. They only complaint is there was a creepy cook staring at the females as we would get our food. I felt very uncomfortable with him watching me as he grinned."

"We were pleasantly surprise by the large variety of items on the buffet menu. The two fish dishes were excellent and so were the desserts. A nice mix of international dishes and local foods. We will be back."

"Need to come hungry and have a big appetite. Hard to eat $50 worth maybe $35-$40 would be ok. For $50 I'd rather spend it for a nice dinner, but was nice."

"Food was quite good, though at times the food (tempura and pasta) ran out and we had to wait for refills. Also, the desert was fairly sparce for lunch. Would have loved to have the bread pudding which I hear is only offered at dinnertime."

"it was hard to find. it is above a mall area and no big signs you will have to love seafood to enjoy this place and pretty pricey 48.00 per person buffet did not feel it was worth that price but the food was good and the service was good"

"As always...a fantastic place. The variety of dishes on the buffet line was so wide, you have to go back a second or third time. Dishes were fine dining gourmet quality--can't believe they can put them on a buffet line. Would definitely go back again & again. Hats off to the well-dresses staff."

"In my last visit, the dishes were really good & flavorful. And they were replenished often. However, the noise level was so high that conversation was a bit difficult."

"The service was not five star. The bus person didnt speak english. And we showed gift certificates to the restaraunt staff and said we are kamaina so drinks with one refill is free. The we get bill and the wait person charge us for drinks. We questioned and then they decided to clear it up. because that was the wait persons tip."

"The hostess was congenial and efficient. The food variety and quality was outstanding. The only negative part of the evening was the server/bus boy at the end of our dinner. He knocked over the glass of water drenching my brother and my wife, but offered no apology nor offered to bring over extra napkins to clean ourselves up. Because of the lack of action of the first staff, the next staff that came over accused us of spilling the drink and showed displeasure of having to clean up after the mess. Unfortunate that a pleasant dinner experience had to be ruined by lack of action by one employee. Nervertheless, the food was good, so will most likely come again hoping that the restaurant can raise the consistency of the staff's service."

"Our waiter was better than outstanding. I would give him more than 5 stars if I could. He was always there to help seat us as we returned from the buffet line, refilled our drinks without being asked, took away used plates almost instantly, etc. We all marveled at the service we received."

"A lot of empty courses, appears as if they could not keep up with refilling the selections. Food was cold and not very tasty. I don't plan on returning. The sad thing is my family and I went here when they first opened and it was great. All the chefs that came from Japan are no longer there and the food prep staff has been reduced to 5 from at least 12 when they first opened"

"We were there probably at their busiest time of the day. I noticed some things were out (like the supply of chopsticks) and somethings were running very low (ie., sushi). Teriyaki steak was rather chewy. The waiter on our table was very friendly and attentive. The food line was very busy and it felt crowded and squishy. With food on both side of the isle. customers were flowing back and forth and the traffic there did not quite feel like "5-star"."

"Overpriced for what is offered. Not a big selection to choose from. Some dishes labeled, so were not. A tight space to browse the selection offered. The wait staff and hostesses were very friendly."

"Good food, presented in clean and well kept buffet.. Food is replenished regularly in manageable portions, to keep it fresh.. Just the Crab legs(snow, dungeness, and king), Lobster, Prime rib, Sushi, and Creme brulee, would make the buffet worth the price, but that's just a fraction of the whole buffet.."

"The last time my wife and I ate here,we were unimpressed. This trip, all the food looked so good.So we tried everything and everything was good. They had someone always watching the food, so all the dishes were always available. We will be back."

"There's a decent variety of food with no shortage of any dish displayed. I wish there were more fruits (e.g., banana, apple) and ice cream. The employees were very friendly and accommodating, but I wish they were not sweeping around where we were eating."

"We had a really great time at Five Star. The food was incredible and the staff made our experience even better. We were pleasantly surprised with the dining room and we had a great view of Waikiki so we could people watch in between plates of fresh oysters, steamed crab, lobster, sushi; both nigiri and "special" rolls, fresh fruit, miso butterfish, short ribs, scallops, tempura and a lot of other dishes that we couldn't try because we were so full from the seafood! They put out little trays of everything so that fresh trays can be put out right from the line by an attendant that just goes down the line and picks up the empty trays then hands them directly to the cook or chef to get a fresh tray."

"Dinner buffet menu was well chosen. The lobster and king crab legs made it unique. No other dinner buffet menu on Oahu has both. Service was excellent. The two of us were seated at a table for four in the middle of the dining room and had hoped for a table for two away from the foot traffic to and from the buffet, but since we dined earlier (5:30 pm - 7:00 pm) it wasn't too busy/noisy. Will definitely revisit this restaurant."

"Had reservations here for two at around 9:00 pm. Hostess seated us at a round table with three chairs. Was about to take a seat as another hostess/waitress transferred us to another table with two seats instead. Waiter offered us drinks and released us to the buffet. Buffet was good, however there weren't much upon our late arrival. Food seletection was great. Waiter was very kind and welcoming. We were told that buffet line was about to close so we should grab desserts. However, there weren't many desserts left for us. Waiter took a while to refill our drinks and forgot to offer the crab pinchers but was very kind about it. Overall, good experience but we kind of felt rushed and didn't get our money's worth on desserts."

"For a Buffet the food was on par with a sit down dining restaurant the food was not overcooked moist and replenished rather quickly. Clearing of used plates was quick and refilling of water outstanding well worth the price for a great restaurant."

"They have an aggressive marketing program, and I went to the "high end" buffet. They did have a good selection of better items such as crab legs (small size), lobster (overdone), and multiple other items. The seared scallops were great, the korean bbq good, the prime rib was good. Desserts are typical buffet quality with rubbery icing on the cakes, not so great creme brulee. I did like the fresh fruit selection, the salads, and the poke tuna. I literally tried everything. This would be a good buffet at $25, but I won't be back at $48. Also, I enjoy wine with my meals...the wine selection is limited, the whites were mostly sweeter than my palate, and the reds were standard grocery store finds. For a "high end" buffet, better wines please"
