Since 1997, Cafe Miro has been considered a "hidden treasure" in the heart of Kaimuki by it’s patrons. Specializing in French/Fusion cuisine, Cafe Miro offers each guest their own choices in a three or four course menu designed by chef/owner Shigeru Kobayashi. Through mostly "word of mouth" from returning customers, Cafe Miro has established itself as a respectable, affordable, French restaurant for all occasions.
"We liked what it is, great food with attentive service. And we liked what it is not, pretentious, expensive or loud. We live in Hawaii, eat out upscale often, and will go back to Miro's."

"This restaurant is not located in any of the usual Honolulu tourist spots. This is what makes Café Miro great. The food is wonderful, well prepared and elegantly presented. The chef's appetizer plate is a must. Service is excellent. Wine list is good and reasonably priced."

"Cafe Miro was a pleasant surprise. The menu provided an array of interesting choices for both appetizers and entrees. Although described as French fusion there is more of an Oriental influence that made for interesting and flavorful presentations. The wine selection was a surprising array that spanned a wide range of quality and price. Overall we found the experience worthy of a return visit. There are two suggestion: 1. The price fixe menu was confusing and a distraction; 2. Ditch the plastic table clothes and replace them with cloth - growing up with two brothers my mom used plastic table cloths for the ease of cleaning and durabiity, a quality restaurant needs to project an refined image that can't be done with sticky plastic."

"Chef Kobayashi cntinues to impress with his mild Japanese twist on French cuisine. Duck Liver pate, bass with brown butter sauce and sliced almonds, roasted chicken with Morel creme sauce and the best duck confit I've had, anywhere."

"Food was delicious, especially the amuse bouche, lobster, and tenderloin with truffles and foie gras. Service was wonderful, attentive and thoughtful. Ambiance and decor felt a little dated. We'll definitely be back."

"What can I say? The food was excellent all-around - every course was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent, the staff extremely attentive yet the atmosphere was very comfortable and intimate. Everyone there knows their food and their recommendations were spot-on. Cafe Miro will definitely be on our list of go-to places for special occasions."

"This is our second time dining at Cafe Miro and this time we decided to bring my parents to try. They just loved it! And we loved it again! The food is just so delicious and tasty. You can really taste the quality and freshness. We also brought our 13 month old daughter, which we were a little nervous about. But even when she threw a few tantrums, the staff were so kind and not once did we feel like we were a disturbance. Cafe Miro is definitely one of our favorites!"

"Cafe Miro is a humble and unintimidating introduction to French cuisine. Parking was free, convenient and easy to find before 7pm on a weekday. No problems with OpenTable reservations - they had all my info and even threw in a couple of glasses of complimentary sparkling wine for me and my wife for our anniversary. Our waiter was friendly and down-to-Earth and didnt make us feel awkward despite this being only our second time dining at a French restaurant. We ordered the 4-course option from the Prix Fixe menu and received a complimentary veggie-tartare-type appetizer that was delicious! Truffle soup was okay but the raw oysters were yummy. Pan-fried opah with brown almond butter was the best! Overall a quality meal and enjoyable experience"

"This is an excellent choice for entertaining a client or a family special occasion. The two menus are prixe fixe. The food is presented well, not 'family style' portions though. I did not leave hungry, BTW. The only 'bump' was when I wanted to 'change' my dessert. Didn't like the choices, so just requested fruit only. Some how the server had an issue with that."

"We love Cafe Miro. We often enjoy the 4 course menu. It's not a large amount of food but it fills us up. I started with the Ahi Carpaccio, the Lobster, Lamb, and the dessert sampler. My girlfriend had the Procciutto and Mozzarella salad, Scallops, Filet, and cheese platter. We both had an amuse bouche of garlic egg drop soup. The food was awesome, as usual, the staff was very attentive and friendly."

"Limited parking. The hostess told us because of Valentine's day, our reservation should not be gone through open table but for some reason it did. Sounds like we won't receive our open table points, I guess that's fine. Everything else was good."

"Enjoyed their Valentine's Day special menu and everything was the best each dish could have been. It rivals Le Bistro now for my favorite gourmet dinner. Loved the fois gras appetizer, the beef tenderloin was so tender and cooked perfectly. The Maui Onion/Potato soup with black truffles was amazing. Asked the waiter to tell me if anyone didn't want theirs to pass it my way! The waiters were excellent, on the spot and helpful with any questions. Food was served in small enough portions to fit in 6 courses, but big enough to try the tastes of everything. I definitely recommend it!"
