"Great place, hidden away in a strip center! Don't let that deter you. The food and service are above average. The varied selection of entrees would suit just about any mood, and the place itself is charming and low key. Our waiter was spot on in every way. He did not miss a beat. We look forward to returning when we're back in the area."

"My boyfriend and I decided to have an early Valentine's dinner (Feb. 12) and thought we'd give Yves Bistro a try since we'd never eaten there. We were NOT disappointed! I was concerned that since Wine Bar was part of the name, he would not be able to get a beer. Well, there were two pages of beers listed in the back of the menu! And they were all "brew pub-type" beers, not the Bud or Coors types. He was very happy with his beef bourgignon and when I tasted it, I loved it. The sauce tasted like a thick wine reduction- yum. And my filet mignon and scallops were cooked to perfection. But my biggest surprise was the mashed potatoes! They had a buttery rich flavor with just enough chunks. Our server, David, was delightful."

"As always, my daughter's pasta was perfection, however to my disappointment, the really expensive duck that I have had in the past that always makes me want to keep coming back somehow lost its luster. The orange sauce, which really makes the dish, was almost tasteless and nonexistent - I had to ask them to bring more sauce. The mashed potatoes arrived lukewarm, and the vegetables wrapped in some type of vegetable basket were hard and unappealing to look at. All in all, my special birthday dinner was a great disappointment. But the soufflé was perfection! We will always return as the service is excellent - just not for a special occasion, but rather for casual dining for pasta and desert which are both reasonably priced and tasty."

"A friend recommended Yve's for a board meeting. We all dined off the $10.00 menu, all ordered something different and all raved about the terrific food. The service was provided by a team of brothers who were very attentive to our needs. I had been to Yve's years ago and I'm glad to have rediscovered it. Two weeks later, I took my daughter there for lunch. Again, the service and food were both excellent. This restaurant is a gem."

"I have been a fan of Yves for years, but only for dinner. This was my first lunch experience. The food was great but the service was not as good as the dinner servers I have become acquainted with. The busboy was the worst, inefficient and interrupting us mid-conversation to ask if he could take plates (despite the silver laid across the plate in the universal symbol of "I'm done".) He also cleaned and stacked plates at our table and did not then clean the eating surface."

"We went to Yve's to celebrate my Dad's 82nd birthday. When I made the reservation, I noted that the occasion was a birthday celebration. Unfortunately, we were seated (along with 2 other parties) in a room where a rehearsal dinner had been booked. About halfway through our dinner, the maid of honor got up to give a speech. We sat quietly, not wanting to interrupt. She was followed by at least 6 other people also giving speeches, which ended up consuming the remainder of the evening. What was intended to be a fun celebration ended up being an evening where we could not even talk to each other, and instead, were the uninvited guests at someone else's dinner, I would rate our experience 2 thumbs down."

"Yves' is usually a good dining experience. We took friends (their first time to Yves')there on a Saturday night. BAD CHOICE: the service was very slow and the loud noise level was extreme. We were unable to hold a 4 person conversation. I don't ever remember noise being such a problem.
We like to give our business to neighborhood establishments. We supported Yves' when they were in downtown Anaheim. It was disappointing to not be greeted. So much for loyalty to the little guy. We usually choose Yves' when going to plays at The Chance Theater. We will rethink our choice."

"Our first time, for a quick meal w my 15yo daughter. Seated promptly on a Friday and given a choice of tables. Service was prompt and courteous and met our "quick dine" timeframe. When they brought the wrong entree for my daughter, the correct one came out in 4-5 mins and the wrong item was packed in a box as a complimentary take-out. Have had incorrect orders served over the years, but never had anyone ask me to take it home- a very nice touch. Both had pasta which was served al-dente although over-garlic'd for both of us. While there was a very loud group next to us which made it difficult to speak, i'd certainly return."

"Service in the Tapas area was terrible. It took 45 minutes before we had an appetizer in front of us. It wasn't just us. The couch area just seemed to be a place the waiters walked through to get to the customers in the other room. There was a table next to us and they were seated and their order was being taken within 10 minutes. Sorry, but for many of us, jazz music just seems like someone is drilling a hole in your head instead of being relaxing. The food is always good but it would be nice it they had seasonal dishes to change up the menu. It has not changed much in 10 years."

"This was our first time at Yves', and we had a good time. The food and service was great, and the overall ambience was good. It was a little loud to consider it a "romantic" restaurant for my taste. Being there on a Saturday night, there was a house band, which made people talk louder, which made the whole restaurant noisier making it less of a romantic evening.
Overall I would recommend Yves' and would consider dining there again."

"Ambiance and staff were excellent but the food was not anything special. Ordered the crab cakes for an app - bad move since they are basically a hardened breaded cake which tasted comparable to Morning Star imitation chicken patties (my date took one bite an refused to eat anymore). The salmon was dry and the house speciality (pasta) was not bad but nothing special. Maybe it was just a bad food night because it was very busy so it's hard to believe the food is normally that bad. If you want a nice/cozy restaurant with cool ambiance give it a shot."
