Inclusive from the moment you grace the doorway, 3 Doors Down has a keen acumen for speeding up your wind down, flipping the switch from maddening day to welcoming respite. A playful, thoughtful, and engaging dining experience begins with the dynamic wine list (including prosecco on tap and barrel to bar wines by the glass), flowing effortlessly to the inventive starters, big bowls of pasta and shellfish, perfectly grilled fish and meats and our spaghetti and meatball Sunday suppers. 3 Doors Down offers a doff of the hat to Mother Italy and a harmonious affair with locally procured Pacific Northwest and American cuisine. Come in, sit down, and eat!

"One of the best Italian restaurants in Portland. Great attentive service and awesome food. The pasta with vodka sauce and sweet Italian sausage is my favorite. Pork chops; NY steaks and halibut cooked to perfection. There is nothing we did not like. Here usually once a week."

"At peak hours, this place really buzzes. So if you're looking for a great conversation over dinner, this ain't the place. Nor should should you take your older glasses-wearing relatives here, unless they're prepared to squint in low light. But make no mistake, the kitchen knows what it's doing. Fish and fowl cooked to perfection. Vibrant side dishes and pastas, all well-presented. This is one of the best modern Italian restaurants in Portland."

"I would have given the restaurant a 5 star if it were not for the slow service. We were virtually ignored for the first 20 minutes after we had been seated and it wasn't until we complained that the manager took over. After that the service was impeccable. The food was amazing and the experience overall was good enough that I would give it another chance.
As an aside, they appeared to be shorthanded and the manager insisted on comping all of our drinks (4 glasses of wine between us)."

"My wife and I stumbled upon 3 Doors Down while visiting Portland 2 years ago. We had never heard of it had no idea we were going to have such terrific food. Our next trip to Portland this past weekend had 3 Doors Down as a top priority for one of our dinners and it was well worth it. I want to mention our great server, Zac, who was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable about the menu and wines and even went out of his way to try and find us some plastic utensils so we could take a slice of their banana cream pie back to our hotel. If yo live in Portland and haven't tried 3 Doors Down or if you ever take a trip there, you must try 3 Door Down as it is well worth it."

"The staff and food at 3 Doors Down never disappoints! We love to go there for the fresh pasta and great drinks! If you want something a bit meatier, try the brined pork chop...It's a melt in your mouth piece of happy pork!"

"We had an excellent dinner - great food, wine and service. We hadn't been to 3DD in a couple years as it is just too loud - hard to have a conversation with all the noise.
Will for sure be going back - would be nice if they could do something about how loud it is, though."

"3 Doors Down is one of my favorite places when in PDX. This restaurant consistently provides excellent food, service, and ambiance. One of the persons who ate at this establishment on this evening is also a foodie and comes from a big city replete with great restaurants--she loved 3DD as well. I recommend this restaurant with only one reservation, which has been the same: they need to place some kind of noise absorbent material on the walls as it gets too loud inside. That qualification should not deter someone from looking for an excellent dining experience, however."

"A little bit busier and louder than we expected, and the tables were very close together. Despite those issues, the food and service were fabulous. The only thing, is if I am paying $25-$30 for plates and have candlelight, I prefer to hear my date better and not to accidently elbow the table next to me.
Again- food excellent, service excellent, the ambiance just was not our style - it however did fit a hip Urban crowd like Papa Haydens, with a little bit less room to manuever."

"I have been to 3 Doors down several times. This was the first time I was disappointed in the food. We had the ravioli appetizer that was extremely salty, and the "touch of cream" on the special was a full cream sauce. However, the service was fantastic and our server had some great recommendations for wine."

"Another great experience. Great food, wine and staff always adds to the occasion. The added twist of including a vegan request although not on the menu the staff came up with a wonderful set of offerings. Thanks again Cathy."

"remains one of the best dining experiences in a town full of good restaurants. The service was great; very accommodating, never rushed, yet got us out the door to our evening activity on time. Can't wait to go back."

"We stayer away too long. It is well worth the trek to the Hawthorne District. The only drawback was it needs better lighting. Our server was outstanding - one of Portland's best."

"My wife and I enjoyed this place quite a bit for our anniversary. Good service and good food. It is not a quiet restaurant, due to the fact that it is popular but this did not take away from our experience. Their specialty cocktails were great and and we really savored each course of our meal."

"My wife's meat was very fatty, about 50/50 fat to meat. When she complained she was given a better piece but it shouldn't have happened. The server was great and was the best part of our experience."

"Service was excellent, food was fantastic. Cozy but not stuffy atmosphere. The cauliflower/blackened cod croquettes were delicious. Seared Scallops w/parsnip puree and poblano-pumpkin sauce were my taste buds favorite. I highly recommended sharing, I usually do, but here you'll want to try everything so sharing let's you have that pleasure. My date and I shared those two apps mentioned, the beef capporcio salad, vodka sauce w/sausage and at the end tiramisu. It was the perfect amount, not stuffed but thoroughly content. Also I asked the server for their recommendation of wine and they nailed it. There was a group of six near us so I'd say they can accommodate a larger party. In general a place you want to soak up and enjoy, linger and s"

"We love 3 Doors Down! Have been coming here since it's inception. The food is consistently very, very good-you can't beat the vodka penne with homemade sausage. The servers are friendly and so efficient. Kathy, one of the owners, is always so welcoming and does everything to ensure your dining experience is wonderful."

"Black cod entree was very, very good, as were the waiter's wine recommendations. Classic cesar salad - right balance of garlic and dressing Cauliflower and caper fritter - tasty, but portion was quite small. Overall another very good meal at 3 Doors Down."

"The white bean spread was delicious as was the pasta with vodka sauce, their specialty. We split a salad, which was the perfect amount. Our waitperson suggested we try the banana cream pie, as that is also a dish they are know for. We found that less than stellar. Other than the pie, the meal was excellent."

"Overall, I really liked 3 Doors Down and would definitely go back. I thought the brussel sprouts were good, but the sauce was somewhat overpowering, and I wasn't too fond of the addition of mint.
The chicken gorgonzola pasta was amazing, and the spicy seafood marinara was also really good. The service was very attentive and friendly."
