"We have eaten here 3-4 times and have never been disappointed. Our latest was for Mother's day sans kids. We purposefully had a leisurely meal, from 7-9 pm. I asked the waiter to select three oysters to accompany my bloody Mary, and he brought three gems. The salt encrusted branzini was moist but just slightly lacking in flavor. My wife's gnocchi and blue crab was fabulous. A light, flavorful sherbert completed the meal, along with espresso. Together with a bottle of wine, the bill was a very reasonable $200. Well worth it."

"I have dined at this establishment many times over the years, and have never had a bad experience, this night was very different. Every diner at the restaurant was miserable. Service was nonexistent, food quality was poor, and it was clear that the restaurant was catering to the private party upstairs. After the bill was paid one of my party spoke with the Manager who was belligerent and nasty with no apologizes. It is crystal clear that this owner/operator is not ready for two restaurants. He was not on premise for a busy Saturday and his ship went down without him. I will not return to waste my money here!"

"The RIver Oyster Bar is a highly recommended spot to add to your list when visiting Miami. The Oyster selection (11 different varieties on the night we visited) is excellent. The menu includes local fish and incorporates those selections in many different, interesting ways (sashimi or bacon-wrapped or "simply" prepared). The bar features some interesting (and tasty) cocktails. The beer list is pretty good, too."

"Rating was spot on. Had west coat oysters, colleague had east coast, both were very fresh and tasty. Mahi was exceptional and a generously sized filet. Off the boat fresh and cooked perfectly to where layers would simply slide onto the fork. My colleague had the snapper, which he also commented was perfect. Tip: park out back for $5 in the lot and then go next door to the historical Tobacco Road for an after dinner drink and some live music."

"Ceviche was fine. Snapper tartare was just a little odd. Whole bronzino baked in salt was pretty good and took on flavor of thyme and lemon inside. Price was reasonable for the product delivered but the overall experience was sort of forgettable."

"We had a reservation for 7:30, and did not have to wait at all. The food was excellent, especially the blue crab gnocchi, the mushroom flatbread, the mussels and the swordfish. Our waiter was very attentive, and the food came out in a timely manner. Overall it was a great dinner and we will be going back again."

"We had the seafood tower, which was huge and as fresh as can be. I started with the gazpacho soup, which was better than any I have ever had. We saved room to split the coconut cake, which was the best ever. The bar is very crowded with the after work crowd and they all seem to have to speak loud so everyone can hear what they say. I would say to go later than earlier because of that."

"I read great reviews about this place so my husband & I decided to check it out on our recent trip to Miami. Our entrees were phenomenal! The blue crab gnocchi with truffle had to be one of the best things I've ever tasted. The Lobster Pot Pie was also awesome. Appetizers were very good (pork belly flatbread & shrimp cocktail), but our entrees overshadowed those. The chocolate mousse cake topped off the meal perfectly. Will return if every back in the area!"

"Dinner was great. We had an Oyster sampler and the Oyster shots. These shots come inmersed in a Bloody Mary preparation with Vodka, and were one of the winners that night. As main course we ordered a flash fried whole fish (guess a red snapper) which was just delicious, and a Lobster cocktail perfectly served as well. Now we understand why it takes a bit of struggling to get the reservation done and making time or party size changes a difficult task. German did a very good job as our waiter! We heard this place might go out of business as a consequence of the Miami City Center development, so rush to make a reservation soon. This is a place not to be missed."

"We get a late evening reservation, 9:30 PM, and when we arrived were informed that the kitchen close in 30 minutes, so we were in the run to order appetizers and main dishes. The kitchen still open until we left 11:00 + PM. Everything was fine, food and service was great."

"The food is really the best about this restaurant. My husband and I go every week since we love close and we love the fact that we can sit at the bar and enjoy a delicious kale salad, some appetizers and wine and have a very reasonable bill. They also have an amazing selection of fish and since I am a vegetarian I love how every dish has great quality vegetables and lots of options. I recommend the toffee bread pudding as well for dessert!"

"We were staying overnight at the airport but wanted one final "vacation meal" before we headed out early the next day. We decided on the River Oyster Bar as Google pointed it out as within the airport area- ($25 cab fare - including tip). It WAS worth the cab fare! The waiter was great (I'm a stickler for good service) and the food supreme. I would definitely recommend it. Thanks! After having some not-so-great dining experiences during our vacation (Key West) it was a wonderful way to end it!"

"I travel a lot for business and seriously love food. So i do some extensive research before each trip. From now on I will go back to the river oyster bar every time that I am in Miami. It's a small place so make reservations. Ambiance is great, very cool place. I had the gnocchi with blue crab and it was seriously the best dish that I've had in years. Service was great too . We walked from the JW Marriott on Brickell where we were staying."

"My party of three dined there last Friday. Great food, particularly the lobster pot pie and of course, their selection of oysters. The restaurant is off the beaten path and the ambience has an appealing, "this-is-where-the-locals-eat" feel to it. Take advantage of their happy hr if that suits - 1/2 price oysters and certain wines. They also make in- house a delightful, 5-layer cococut cream pie (portion is oversized!). Servers were friendly and knowledgeable. Presently lots of construction going on across the street, so best to eat indoors."

"Have been to the River Oyster Bar on many occasions and every time it is a great experience. We like to sit and eat at the bar, although it's sometimes difficult to get a place there as the restaurant is so popular. Wait staff and bar personnel are very personable, friendly and attentive, and the food is always excellent. Cannot praise the Thai ribs and Flame Roasted Oyster appetizers enough!"

"Excellent experience. Amazing oyster selection. Highly recommend the Wellfleets. Salmon sashimi and raw scallop were phenomenal. I normally do not offer reviews, good or bad, but this place is quite deserving. Schmooze with the wine vendors who apparently make comfort at the bar with their carry cases full of chilled wines and you might just enjoy some fine samples."

"the food is so delicious, the service is professional and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The oysters are fresh and delicious with 3 dipping sauces, there isn't anything on the menu that you wouldn't want. We loved the mussels in coconut milk and the crab cakes. If you have room, the coconut cake with sauce is wonderfully yummy !"

"Our first, but not last, dinner at The River. Staff could not have been more courteous. This is a busy location near Brickell Ave. and you should have a reservation. The broiled snapper was excellent. The Pino Grigo was house brand, cold, and great. Having grown up in Miami I don't know how I missed this great place!"
