"Now this is gourmet dining. While there are many very fine restaurants in Fort Lauderdale, Johnny V's stands apart as a true example of five-star excellence (and at the same price you would pay at a dozen other less accomplished establishments). We sat outside on a lovely and warm February evening, enjoying the street scene and fine weather (the inside dining rooms are lovely as well). Our server, Alexis, was quickly at our side with explanations of the menu and specials and recommendations on wine. Every appetizer and entree was superb: creative, delicious, and not overdone or fussy. Try the ancho chili and cinnamon crusted pork, and don't miss the goat cheese and spinach empanadas."

"This was my sixth visit to Johnny V's. It's not the "in" place anymore (see Yolo) and like most restaurants in Ft Lauderdale, they've struggled with a difficult economy, but the food hasn't suffered. It's a place who knows what it is. The wine list and cheese list are probably its strongest assets. I like the decor, though the front of the house (the bar) is very loud and the back room quieter but stuffy. The service is sometimes great, usually very good, sometimes indifferent/snooty. A very solid choice."
