"I've been to Skylight Gardens for office happy hours on a few occasions, and have always enjoyed. Hence, I felt comfortable recommending to a visiting professional colleague for a business lunch. We has a reservation and were seated promptly, however, 10-15 minutes into catch up banter realized we still had not been visited by a server. Knowing my dining partner was on a tight schedule, I flagged not one, not two, no, not three, but ultimately FOUR servers, all of whom successively promised to locate our "assigned server". By then, we had 20 minutes until we needed to part ways. With 10 minutes to eat, I rate very poor performance for a restaurant in a business haven. Hopefully, an isolated event."

"We took our daughter for her birthday dinner here along with two of her friends (all are graduating from UCLA this year). Our daughter chose Skylight Gardens for her birthday dinner as it was a restaurant in Westwood that she had not tried. We started with drinks and two orders of calamari at the bar during happy hour. The prices were very reasonable and the calamari was excellent. We moved on to the dining room for dinner and each of us ordered different pasta dishes. Our daughter had the pasta sampler (a great way to try three different selections from so many choices.) All of them were great! We really enjoyed our dinner."

"Very nice evening out. Menu provided many outstanding selections. Each of the dishes ordered was very good. Only downside, at 9:30 pm they started clearing all the tables and were stacking them. "The restaurant is beautiful. On past visits, we had great food and service. On this lunch visit, it was a different experience. Our waiter was inexperienced and overwhelmed. Our pizzas were cold and our drinks were refilled incorrectly. Also, our bill was incorrect. Hopefully, this was jus a bad day. The restaurant has so much potential and was great on previous visits."

"Found this restaurant online the day before Valentine's Day and I'm glad I did. Skylight Gardens still had the time we wanted to dine available and had just the right atmosphere for me and my valentine. The bar looked like a cool fun place just to hang out too. Even though we could have ordered off the regular menu, they made it easy by having a special 4-course Valentine menu as well. Food was great, service was great! We would definitely go back again."

"Oh, we haven't been to the 'Gardens' since it was Gardens on Glendon. They didn't do much to re-make it as Skylight. It still has the famous Guacamole and the bar scene is still great. The restaurant wasn't as full--so I hope it fills up as this location and that restaurant, whatever the name, is a mainstay in Westwood! Please everyone--at least go once a month for a good meal....so that my family can enjoy it too! We are Gardens Loyals!"

"This was our first experience with Skylight Gardens and it was a very good one. We were seated in the bar area rather than the rotunda and found it cozy and appealing. We had a very nice Tricolore salad and pasta accompanied by a lovely Super Tuscan glass of wine. Overall, it was a lovely dinner and we will return for more. It is also very convenient for making a very complete evening of dinner and theatre (Geffen)."

"The old Hamlet Gardens reopened a few months ago as Skylight. The new owner has retained and spiffed up the lovely interior spaces. The menu offers a decent range of typical Italian dishes. The food itself ranges from good to very good. Very reasonable prices and free parking in the building across the street. As dining options in Westwood are limited, Skylight is a very welcome addition to neighborhood. Perfect if you are attending a play or concert at the Geffen or UCLA. Also great for a low-key evening out without breaking the bank."

"This had to be an off night. Service was extremely slow despite our telling our waiter that we had a 8pm curtain time. My pasta order came out completely wrong and a special order of fish for a person with dietary restrictions failed to be prepared as requested. That said the food was very good and the manager tried his best to make us whole. We will need to revisit Skylight Gardens to see if they have made improvements."

"When I reserved a table w Open Table, I included a note that we would need to be out by a certain time to make the play and that we wanted a private table. Agin, when we arrived, I informed both the host as well as the waiter that we had a play to catch and that I needed to be out in time to get the car from valet and drive to the theater. He assured that us that he would keep an eye on it. However, we had to ask the bus boy several times to get out waiter to give us the bill and the waiter continued talking to another table that had just arrived. At the end, the service was so slow that we had to leave the wine (my favorite Petite Amarone) and dinner unfinished and ended up barely making the play."
