The HON Bar offers a full menu plus Happy Hour 7 days a week. Stop in for a ice cold beer and our award winning HOT wings.
"This was our 2 visit. Our first visit was good. Fun atmosphere good food a bit pricey and slow service. Our second visit was different. It's been 2 years since our last visit. The menu selection was not the same, service was quite slow and the food was okay. Again a bit pricey. It was interesting that we got in with no wait. I wonder why."

"Cafe Hon is a nice place to go for lunch once, mostly to say you've been. The interior has been redecorated with many items coming from IKEA. It looks cute. On our visit we waited 20 minutes for our food, shrimp salad (very good) and an egg sandwich (OK). The ladies room is miniscule with only 2 stalls. One was out of order and the one that worked was so small you could hardly move. Three patrons were waiting in this area the size of a closet. Not sure how they get away with this for a restaurant of this size. Sorry to say I will be in no hurry to return."

"Although we were a little disappointed that Cafe Hon did not have a special Mother's Day Brunch menu we were not let down by the food and charm of the cafe. We were promptly served chocolate covered strawberries while we viewed the menu but that was the only thing prompt about our visit. The waitress didn't take our order for 30 minutes and it took another 45 for our meal to arrive. That was a bit frustrating considering there WASN'T a special menu not to mention the fact that the table next to us arrived after us, was served and left before we received our meal. But, we did enjoy the food once it arrived. The charm of the cafe and the delicious food made up for the slow service."

"was disappointed that with a reservation we were seated as one of the few tables in the "bar" area as opposed to the more common rooms, where the real flavor and ambience of the cafe shines. As such, it was quiet and not "happening" where we sat. the food, and we all ordered breakfast fare, took forever. good enough place, was hoping for a better experience, did not get it."

"A group of us had lunch at Cafe Hon. They have a fairly limited selection for lunch. To be honest, I can't remember what I ordered (it's been 8 days). There is nothing wrong with this place at all, but there's not much to distinguish it from any other lunch place."

"We had a great time. Our waiter couldn't have been friendlier or better in his timing. Food was mixed- can't go wrong with pancakes or french toast, they were wonderful. Eggs were way too buttery, they didn't even taste like eggs. Club sandwich was traditional and good. Lots of vegetarian options. Chocolate covered strawberries as a special treat for mom were a thoughtful touch."

"We just LOVED our meal at Cafe Hon!! Of special note -- their grilled cheese, bacon and chicken salad sandwich and blueberry cherry crisp pie. Also, delicous -- the special turkey burger filled with STUFFING!! I thought the place was going to just be retro funky but the food shines here and I will be making 'lots of repeat visits!!!"

"Wonderful place for brunch. The quality of the food was outstanding and a great value. The staff was very attentive, including the restaurant manager who took the time to come over to our table and chat.
Highly recommend!"

"It was a busy Sunday for brunch... the hostess was clearing tables, which delayed the seating of people waiting in line. They looked understaffed as the servers were slow getting around to each table. But as always the food was excellent and our server was very friendly and attentive (when the restaurant slowed down a bit) All in all good food and good price and good server too."

"the food was very average. I had the crab Benedict and the crab cake was only about 3 oz each over done and back fin that was very dry. my husbands pancakes were over done all this while we waited for 25 mins for our brunch and they were not that busy with over 5 tables vacant around us."

"When I used to live in Hampden, Cafe Hon was a staple, albeit not memorable dining experience. This was seven years ago. Recently we decided to brunch up there on St. Patty's Day because we figured we could avoid the drinking leprechauns all over the city. It was a great choice, because Cafe Hon's food at this point was FANTASTIC. We had the creamed chipped beef, the super grits, corned beef hash, and the crab cake benedict. Every meal was spot on. Cafe Hon, thank you - we will be returning!"

"So maybe you won't go to Cafe Hon for fine dining... You go because it's Bawlmer, it's Hampden. it's a tradition, and it's just a fun place to be. The food is fine, trust me, and it's very reasonably priced. If you want some authentic atmosphere, a good time with friends, and a very family-friendly atmosphere, Cafe Hon is a good choice."

"I was looking forward to going th Cafe Hon. There were 4 of us and 2 of us had Grilled Cheese with French Fries. I could not get over how high the price was for a diner. $9 for grilled cheese was just dumb. There was nothing special about it. The fries were frozen and reheated and did not taste good. I was very disappointed and probably will not return. I would have been fine paying $90 for dinner (keep in mind 2 were grilled cheeses) if it tasted good. For that price it needs to be amazing. Over all I went because a friend was visiting from out of town and wanted to go but we left thinking for that price we could have eaten at a nicer restaurant."

"A group of 4 of us went to Cafe Hon for a special occasion and were so pleased with the service and atmosphere. The server, whose name escapes me (she was going to school for radiology) was funny, upbeat, and attentive. The atmosphere is fun and eclectic and just what us party goers needed. The food was tasty and appealed to us all; who were searching for that comfort food vibe. And the drinks! Whew! We got the partytinis and they were adorned with fun stuff that required multiple picture taking opportunities. Overall, a nice little spot I'd go back to again"

"Went for dinner. Although the restaurant was short staffed, the servers and hostess were pleasant and hard working. Unfortunately, the food was poor. The 5 people in my party each order something different. Nothing was very good. Even the hamburger was of poor quality. Maybe the restaurant is better for breakfast."
