From the creator of Blossom and Café Blossom, comes V-Note, an organic wine bar and vegan bistro set in an elegant, relaxed and inviting space on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. V-Note carries a vast selection of wine and beers, all of which are vegan, organic and/or bio-dynamic and in some cases even kosher, to accompany our completely vegan menu dedicated to fresh gourmet cuisine that is animal-caring.

"Not surprisingly it comes from the creator of the excellent Blossom and Cafe Blossom restaurants. It's an intimate, but not tiny, storefront that feels warm and uncluttered when you enter. I went on a Thursday evening and it was less than a quarter full, great for noise but perhaps not a great sign for V-Note. My only complaint was the overhead lighting which felt unnecessarily white and bright until they dimmed it eventually. Beyond that I have only praise. There are too many appealing choices on the menu and you can't order everything. I started with the Black-Eyed Pea Cake and had the Tofu "Salmon" entree. My friend had the Crispy Pinenut & Basil Seitan. Both were outstanding. And a nice seleciton of organic wines."

"We came to V-Note for my friend's birthday and ordered a variety of appetizers including the mushroom scallops (which were amazing), and the seitan schnitzel (also delicious). I thought the texture and flavor of the seitan was quite good, so we ordered the pinenut and basil encrusted seitan and the seitan cordon blu. In addition, we chose the south of the border salad, and all three dishes were just great. The ambiance itself was warm and a little more upscale and modern than we expected from the storefront, and we thought the decor matched the food presentation quite well. Our waitor and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall this is a a great place to dine, and we will definitely return to try some of the other dishes on the menu."

"We dined here for the first time and enjoyed our dinner. The menu is interesting and even non-vegetarians/vegans will find something to order. The basil and Pine nuts Seitan was excellent. "I love this restaurant. It has surprising mixes of delicious flavors in each of the dishes. I highly recommend the Medallions Au Poivre and the Crispy Pine Nut and Basil Grilled Seitan for entrees. The portions are large and filling. Once in a while I will get an app to share, and they are all equally as delicious as the entrees. The service is also very good. The staff is very well versed in the flavors and the ingredients in each dish. They are also great if you need a recommendation."

"I love ethe relaxed feel of the restaurant - the dimmed lights, small and almost cozy. This was my second time and, as with the first time, it was difficult to make choices; everything was superb. My date and I split an appetizer and a dinner size salad, went on to try two entrees which were shared and one dessert. Never hurried, each course came out in a timely manner. The portions are huge so go with a great appetite or be prepared to take home the leftovers. The ambience is pleasant and the wait staff really friendly and eager to assist in whatever way they can. Great place to eat even if you're not a hard core vegan!"

"The food was pretty good and the staff friendly and well-intentioned, but we had service problems. We didn't know that there were breakfast items available at brunch (wrong menus? supposed to be told? we only figured it out because other diners near us ordered french toast), they neglected to bring my husband's entree until we finally asked where it was (after which we heard the waiter scream into the kitchen ,"Where the f*** is my burrito?!"), and they didn't bring the espresso we requested. We would go back, mostly because totally vegan brunches are hard to find, but with lower expectations."

"The only good thing we ate was one of the appetizers. Our other appetizer and our three entrees were all less than great. Honestly, I could've made something better at home. For a $100+ meal we were all extremely disappointed.
Our waiter took forever to take our order, and we noticed he wasn't doing too well with the people sitting next to us either. He wasn't attentive at all."

"V-Note is a small, nicely decorated restaurant with dim lighting and nice art on the black painted walls. Four of us (two couples) were there on a Saturday night and the place was full. None of us are vegan but we went to V-Note because we keep kosher and we wanted a light meal someplace near the Met. We were seated for our 7:15 reservation at 7:25. The food is tasty and looks pretty on the plate. My salad with some sort of fake chicken was delicious. The merlot was good. Don't expect large portions. Service is friendly and efficient. The vibe would be scaled up if servers wore standard outfits (our server had way too much cleavage!). It is the rare restaurant that can satisfy kosher as well as non-kosher diners. This place does."

"Took the lady here for our first NYC Valentine's Day and it was a huge hit! Very cool vibe with delicious food, wine and dessert. "This place was horrible. With vegan food you really have no room for error and this food was really bad. I was there for valentines day and you would think they would have pulled out all the stops. Instead we overpaid and I was extremely disappointed. The menu also had a lot of seitan. Why would a vegan restaurant try to imitate meat. Just make good vegan food please. Thanks."
