"4 of us had dinner there on a Friday night. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The wine list was good and reasonable and we enjoyed a couple bottles of wine. The food was mediocre. 2 of us got the seared tuna....it was truly nothing special. Another got the steak - it was fair at best. And finally, one of us got chicken fried steak - and it was excellent. So we were 1 for 4. It was fine, but we won't be returning."

"Maybe a good neighborhood place, but definitely not worth a 25 mile trip to go to. Food and wine were OK, nothing remarkable, and a bit overpriced. Parking was frustrating. On a weeknight, why can't I park my own car - would have taken far less time than having the lone valet work me into his busy schedule, and there were plenty of spots."

"We've always enjoyed Glass Wall but the noise level last Friday was very close to intolerable. We couldn't even hear each other at our own table. Service was a little slower than usual too. Not sure what they can do about the noise in a place with very little absorbent surfaces, but unless you like yelling during dinner, go early or very late."

"The food and wait staff were both wonderful! We ended up sitting on the patio because insidr was very, very loud. The patio area is arranged along Studemont with no real barriers, so even then the road noise could get distracting. Aside from that, it was a highly enjoyable experience! This is what I would also consider a "special occassion" type of place. The price was a little high, but the food was well worth it. I will definitely come back again in the future."

They are not a disappointment, the staff was on point the moment you walk in, we ordered the tomahawk pork chop, veal special of the day and a side of mac n cheese. "We both had the specials, I had veal chop and my friend had the fish of the night, and both had the special salad of the evening - specialty tomatoes with fresh basil, feta, red onion and balsamic vinegar drizzle. Everything from bread to dessert was great except my spinach side... overcooked a bit. Veal and fish and other sides were terrific."

"My husband and I received a gift card from Glass Wall as a wedding present. It was a great wedding present! The restaurant is just the right size, not too big and not too small. We came later in the night for dinner but there was still a crowd for a Tuesday. That's always a good sign. The service was great. The mood, romantic. The food, very good. We had oysters and quail for appetizers and were already full from that--at least for me. My husband ordered the special of the night--lamb chops. I ordered the snapper since I wanted seafood that night. I'm not a big fan of snapper but that was a great snapper dish! As for lamb chops, the rosemary was not so overpowering but the lamb did not smell "gamy". It was grilled to perfection."

"The food was good, but not spectacular or memorable. My party of three started with the brie and lobster risotto appetizers. Both of these were good and quite large. For entrees we had the steak, chicken fried steak and lamb (on special). All of these were again good, but nothing that stood out. For dessert we had the panna cotta, which although flavorful was too firm, and tiramisu, which was good. The service and atmosphere were both very good. I would consider returning to the Glass Wall, but in this price range there are several other places where I think the food is elevated from good to memorable."

"Glass Wall is a lovely restaurant with delicious food & great service. We will definitely go back because there were so many great sounding dishes on the menu we had a hard time deciding & want to try more. I had the corn flake chicken fried steak (yum!) & my husband had the pork chop which he said was the best he'd ever had! We also shared the Lobster Risotto (very good!) to start & the tomato/mozzarella salad (huge & delectable!). The noise level was pretty high but it was mostly the voice level of the other diners - not sure how to fix that... better acoustics to absorb? Still, it was a very enjoyable experience."

"Our reservation was for a party of 6. The restaurant called earlier in the day to confirm and they had our table ready when we arrived. We had steak, ribs, and porkchops. All were excellent and perfectly cooked. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers, meals, and desserts. If there was one thing we had to choose as our least favorite it would be the crabclaw appetizer. Everything else was excellent. We could not have asked for any better.
The waiter had a trainee shadowing him. They were both very attentive to our table. There were no delays, drinks were filled when needed and food was served hot.

"Definitely my favorite restaurant in Houston. I've never had anything there that I didn't love! The food is fantastic, but the thing that really sets Glass Wall apart for me is the wine pairings. They are always spot on, and I'm always impressed by how much they enhance every course."

"The crab cake was outstanding. The rest of our food was tasty. well prepared, and well presented. The noise level was a bit much. All in all we would go back to try the rest of the menu. The wait staff were great."

"I came here for my birthday dinner and it was very enjoyable. Super busy, so be sure to reserve a table. Our reservation was for 9:00pm but we were seated earlier. The lobster risotto was on of the best things I have ever eaten. I will be coming here again."

"My wife booked Glass Wall for our Valentine's Celebration, a great choice! We had starter and entree wine pairings and the wines complimented the food superbly. We had a Tomato and Spicy Mozzarella starter to share, followed by the Berkshire Pork chop which was superb. My wife had the flounder special, which disappointedly wasnt as substantial as she thought. We indulged in the Rum Cake with vanilla ice cream, but the rum flavor was a little too subtle for our tastes...the waiter said it was subtle, becuase sometimes kids order it!! That's why we ranked the food and service down at 4*. Though, we will be back!"

"My wife and I drove into town last weekend and tried this neighborhood gem in the Heights! The food was great, very imaginative and flavorful. We go to Vegas twice a year and eat at some of the nicer restaurants there, and didn't find the food here to be a let down at all. Service was very attentive and friendly, and the wine list had lots of reasonably priced selections. Now added to our Houston favorites!"

"Service here surprised me. My glass of water was never empty. These guys knew their roles, and other servers who were near took it upon themselves to help us out when our waiter was busy with other tables. One waiter came by to clear our plates, and even brought dessert menus for us! Thank you! You have no idea how good that makes us feel.
Food: Baked oysters were absolutely wonderful.Bibb salad app was larger than expected, tasted awesome and we shared it. I ordered ribeye which was a great steak, but nothing comparable to a steak from a steakhouse. I just had a craving for meat! My wife had the pork chop which was recommended and the best dish of the night! loved the bread pudding dessert and coffee ice cream!"

"We had heard that the Glass Wall was a fabulous find in the Heights ... and all we heard was true! Great service with a very attentive staff. It was a relatively quiet night, but don't expect it to be extremely intimate as the dining area is very open. The food is amazing and we are looking forward to another visit soon!"

"The night started great when greeted by the fantastic maître d'. He was very personable and quite funny. The waiter was also very good. There were five of us in our party so we were seated at a large booth at the end with a chair for the fifth diner. All of the food was fantastic. One in our party wanted a salad and asked for a meat to be added. She selected tenderloin. It was absolutely fantastic. A little pricey though since they charged $32, the same as the tenderloin dinner. Not a big issue but I think it would have been better had the waiter told her that in advance. I ad the chicken fried steak and loved it. Our entire party loved our selections and all plan to return again."

"Overall, Glass Wall is an awesome little Heights dining establishment. For our starter, we shared a daily special, which was a twist on a caprese salad. The tomatoes, spicy mozzarella and balsamic vinegar were delicious, though we both thought the red onion was too strong. We thoroughly enjoyed our entres (pork chop and short ribs). The sweet potato mash was delicious as were the carmelized brussel sprouts. The meats were perfectly prepared and sauces were also excellent. Portions were so large we were too stuffed for dessert (darn). Finally, my husband really loved the wine pairing recommended for his meal.
While it is a little noisy and parking is limited (valet pretty much required), these are minor inconveniences for great foo"
