"The waiter put way too much effort into the up-sell. Once I ordered a second bottle of wine and the bill was sufficiently run up, the waiter became hard to find and avoided eye contact. Ordered the King crab legs and they were cold, had to ask for drawn butter. For a place that puts so much energy into running up the tab, more effort should go into service. This could have been a great dining experience... turned out to be a swing and a miss."

"We dined at McCormick & Schmick's before a performance at the Aronoff. It was such a welcome change from from the usual noisy bar scene eateries downtown. The food was excellent (sea scallops) the servers were very attentive, but not overly so, and it was qiet enough to actaully carry on a conversation. THe restaurant decor is elegant with beautiful woodwork."

"I love the food here. This time was lunch with an old friend. The crab and shrimp spring rolls were awesome. I had simple fried shrimp for my meal, they were very good. My friend had the Lobster Cobb Salad, first of all it was a gorgeous presentation, she said it was delicious!"

"My wife and I were celebrating our 10th anniversary.. It has a great location right across from the heart of downtown, Fountain Square. From the appetizers to the main course and desserts everthing was very well prepared , I had the fillet mignon and my wife had a New York strip, two f the most expensive items on the menu. The deserts were fantastic. Order the caramelized apple pie for sure! The only downside is that it's a little pricey. Our total tab without the tip ended up at $132 but worth it for this occasion."

"My husband & I had reservations, we arrived 5 minutes before the reservation and was told that seating was limited. We had to wait 20 minutes before being seated. We waited over an hour for our meal which would have came much later if we didn't explain that we had another engagement after dinner. When our meal came our food was lukewarm. But the waitress was very pleasant and warm."

"We arrived & were seated promptly for a 7:15 reservation. We were greeted by our server quickly who was very friendly. That was where the great service ended. We ordered an appetizer which took probably a half hour to get, salads which came out probably another half hour after we finished the appetizer &dinner which didn't arrive to our table until an hour & 45 minutes after we ordered. We left the restaurant at 9:45 -turning down free dessert offered because of the poor service "due to the kitchen running behind" in fear that we would have to wait another half hour to get that. We had to ask for drink refills & for our check -food was not even Luke-warm by the time we received it - leading us to believe the issue wasn't with the kitchen"

"Our server was excellent. He's a very good judge of his customers, because he recognized that we were laid-back and would appreciate being teased, but he was more formal with other diners nearby us. The seafood was fresh and prepared well, as were the vegetables. The wine selection is very good. Pricy but worth every penny we paid."

"This was a special occasion and the second time we have been to McCormick and Schmick's in Cincinnati. We were not disappointed. Our waiter was great as was the service. We requested a booth and received one in a quiet location. Everything was perfect. The meal, the drinks and the dessert. We will return to this location as well as to other M & S restaurants. We also joined the Landry's Dining Club because we love the restaurants in the club."

"I was disappointed with our dinner at McCormick and Schmick's. For the price point, the food was OK. But the grilled fish (tilapia and salmon) was way too salty and the parmesan encrusted tilapia was bland. Our server was fine when he was there, but he was not particularly helpful with the menu. Overall, there are many other places downtown that I would rather eat than to return here."

"Went to Easter Brunch. Seated and waited on promptly upon arrival. Ordered Firecracker Shrimp as an appetizer - the family loved it. Brunch items were lukewarm once served, which was 1 hour 15 minutes after having ordered. I had eaten dinner on several occasions and very much enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. I would not recommend the Easter Brunch again - the appetizer was the best part of the experience."

"The service was very good - our server was friendly and very knowledgable. My husband's dinner was good-albeit a bit more bland in flavor than he had expected or would have preferred. Over all we had a lovely evening together and would give it at least another try."

"The food and service was good, but not up to par with prior visits. We ordered dessert and coffee after the meal, but the dessert took a long time to arrive, and we were finished with the dessert before the coffee arrived. The excuse of "brewing a fresh pot" was a real stretch given how long we waited for the dessert."

"I have always loved McCormick and Scmicks but was very disappointed in the food that night. We brought a special person to celebrate her birthday, so did not want to say anything to anyone about the food in front of her. She said her dinner was great. But both my husband and I had salmon that was overcooked and tasted "old." That had never happened before. I might try it once more and hope it was just an off night. But, with so many other great restaurants, it might be a while before we get back."

"We have dined at this chain before and did not hesitate to book there for our anniversary dinner with another couple. The service was great, but the food arrived and it was not hot, one of the meals had to be sent back due to being very overcooked. They did replace it very quickly, but with the issues with lukewarm food and his meal, we were a little disappointed. Overall, the dinner was pleasant, the service was good, although a member of management did not apologize for our delayed dinner."

"Fortunately and unfortunately we were in a secluded room for my mom's birthday celebration. It was great because we could talk and share conversation without the whole restaurant involved. Unfortunately, I felt as if we were off the radar of the restaurant as the service was poor and very slow. We waited quite a while for the initial service of drinks and did not get attention when our drinks were empty."

"We had been there in the past for Birthdays and was treated wonderful. Just didn't feel the love this time. Last time felt like the food was amazing and really didn't love it this time. "The food and service was great. The Blackened Mahi Mahi was quite tasty, and the andouille mashed potatoes were a fine complement. My wife had the Seared Ahi Tuna, which was good but the seasoning on the outside was a bit too spicy; I think it was spicier than the Mahi Mahi. Overall it was a good experience that made for a memorable evening."
