"'comfort food' has become a synonym for 'cheap eats' at Oliver's. Unfortunately for diners, a formally upscale menu has been transformed into a local's answer to Applebee's/Friday's. So sad to see that the chef needs to fill his seats by dumbing down choices. Maybe lobster mac n' cheese was too rich for Bordentown-but-rump roast pot roast? Hopefully Oliver's returns to sanity before its too late. PS_considering how trimmed down the menu had become it was surprising how poorly paced dinner was. Seemed like an almost full house brought the kitchen to a standstill. Not the quality or performance that has brought me back over the years. I'll wait to return when I see a revised menu that brings the flair back."

"This was a revisit for dinner since our first experience was excellent. This time, however, our experience was a bit off. Service was adequate but not attentive. Our salads were excellent and our entrees were just "okay". Our wait time for entrees was lengthy. Desserts were overpriced at $8.50 each. I would, however, try again and hope this was an isolated experience."

"Dining at Olivers A Bistro exceeded my expectations. The service was courteous and non-intrusive. My meal was simply delicious. There was a bit of a hitch when someone in my party ordered a dessert to go that, given the menu description, was clearly not intended for takeout. But the server was quite gracious and courteous in addressing the issue and reaching a satisfactory solution. This was my first visit to Olivers A Bistro and I look forward to returning and tasting other offerings on the menu."

"As always, Oliver's was spectacular. The fixed price menu had a generous selection and the specials were plentiful. Two of our party had the Cod and the third had the bacon wrapped filet and we all LOVED our main courses. The potato soup as a starter is a MUST have and the mussels in red sauce were amazing. We come here often and are never disappointed. If you've not been here yet, you owe it to yourself to come in. You will keep coming back."

The scallop's were good, with a buttery taste that was completely ruined by the over powering pepper taste. "We have no complaints about the food. It was delicious as usual. However, the restaurant was busy with two large tables of 8-10 each and as a result our meal lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes. It was an hour and 20 minutes before we received our entree. I don't think that's acceptable but our waiter did not recognize that we were waiting way too long for our food. A simple apology and "Dessert is on the house" would have made me feel a lot better about the experience."

"Oliver a Bistro is a quaint, romantic restaurant that we go to quite often. The food is excellent, the atmosphere inviting and the service superior. Highly recommended. We had the Acorn Squash Appetizer stuffed with sausage which was excellent. We shared it with another couple...it was a nice portion. We also split the Pear blue cheese salad as well which is my favorite. The entrees are are all delicious with nice size portions. Friendly staff and a very talented chef... Located in the heart of Bordentown. Don't miss this Neighborbood Gem!"

"The menu hits all the high points in high-end American comfort food. And it's BYOB, so you are paying only for a great meal. We drive a half-hour in evening traffic to get there, and it is so worth it!"

"Our first time here to this byob French bistro and our last. Too many noisey large parties that the kitchen could not coordinate/time the food orders. We were only two and we waited over 45 minutes after our appetizers for our main course. It would not have been so bad if at least one of the 4 waiters would have checked in with us during our 45 minute wait. Crickets! And then when we flagged down a waiter and asked about our food his reply was, "Do you want me to find out when your order went in"? There is something very strange about the wait staff. They are not polished! My wife and I ordered the rack of lamb. She got 5 pieces and I got 4! Go figure!"

"Started out with an Acorn Squash appetizer that was sinfully delishious. Since it was Thursday, Market-style burritos were available so that was what was ordered. These are some very wonderfully prepared burritos, although the "hot" could have had some more zest, overall it was an exceptional treat."
