"We enjoyed our night at Broadway but came away a little disappointed and wanting and expecting a little more both of execution of the food and flavors. Personally i had the Ahi tuna entree which was tasty but the size of the portion confused me, especially when i looked at these large pieces of pork and lamb being brought out to other tables. Also, the dish is served with fried sushi rice logs which were good but one of them was terribly overcooked. All in all the restaurant was good, the dining experience was good, but I didn't walk away from my night being completely satisfied with the flavors of the dishes we had."

"What a great experience! We loved the Tuesday Small Plate menu as every item we ordered was a unique, and wonderful experience. We are very particular about where we eat out as we like to cook gourmet at home so we are always looking for that restaurant where we can eat things that we wouldn't normally make at home. This restaurant added nice, new twists to some of our favorite dishes which kept it exciting. Thank you! We will definitely be coming back."

"You just can't order anything on the menu that isn't great. We enjoy eating there on Tuesdays because they offer small plates in addition to their entree menu. If you ever wanted to try some unique dishes this is the time. The wine menu is extensive and overall this restaurant is the BEST in Laguna Beach."

"What a great restaurant should be......friendly staff with a welcoming demeanor upon arrival, ambiance that is warm and inviting yet just trendy and hip enough to surprise you and food that was more and more tasty with each dish that was served. We went on small plate Tuesday and had an assortment of amazing tidbits - the hamachi melted in my mouth, the bacon wrapped, blue cheese stuffed figs were mouthwatering and the beet salad was as beautiful as it was tasty. We sat at the chef station and watched amazing dishes be prepared all night....and made a mental list of what to order on the next visit! I am not a "food person", really don't like dining out and have never written a review before, but had to say some kind words about Broadway!"

"This time, our initial experience was not quite as good as our previous visits. The place was jammed. Our reservation was for 8. The previous table was still there. We waited, chatting with neighbors we ran into. The waitress seemed to be covering too many tables, too far apart. We ordered a bottle of Syrah from their extensive wine list. Then we ordered our food. The salad came. No wine. I flagged down the busy waitress. She said they were looking for it upstairs. It finally came after another 5-10 minutes. The wine steward told me he had to hunt around for it and open his last case. It was very good and complimented the lamb very well. But, I think they need to reorganize their wine supply."

"Broadway is a hot, foodie style restaurant. The foodie style seemed a bit forced on our visit and unfortunately some of our dishes really missed the mark. Our scallops were a bit overcooked, with nothing notable about the dish. The beet salad was surprisingly bland. The mascarpone/ mayonnaise dressing was dull and much too heavy to mix with the plainly roasted beets. Our other dishes were fine yet not memorable. I have dined here before and have always been impressed with most all of our selections. Maybe it was just an off night."

"The food was outstanding, the service and ambiance less so. We were celebrating our anniversary and despite mentioning this when we made our Open Table reservation and again to the hostess we were given a small table for two between 2 larger tables. The dinner tables are along one wall, the bar is along the other side. It was a Thursday night and the bar crowd was very noisy, particularly right opposite us. We do not drink but do spend a good amount on our food (I ordered a $22 appetizer) but the lack of a cocktail or wine order seemed to disappoint our waiter. We also were not offered tap water but only given a choice of still or sparkling water. We chose a $7 bottle of Figi water."

"We went on a Tuesday night for their small plates night, and the food was excellent. However, there was exactly 8 inches between our table for two and the two tables next to us. On one side, was a loud woman in a party of four, and we could barely talk above her, as it felt like she was at my table. On the other side, was a quiet family of four, but every time my husband started to talk, the man closest to me to my right, would look up at him - and we felt he could hear our conversation only too clearly. Bottom line, we won't return despite the interesting and excellent food. I need a little privacy when I'm having a delightful intimate dinner, and 8 inches between myself and the next table does not permit that."

"Broadway has excellent food and an incredible wine list. The ambience is classy, yet fun. The kitchen is open, so you can watch your food being prepared. The dining room features high tables with chairs and low tables with bench seating. My boyfriend and I like the long dining table in the front of the restaurant which seats up to 10 people, I believe. Great for groups! This place is a little gem hidden in downtown Laguna."

"Went there for my wife's b-day. The food was good. The service was fair. Not a place for a romantic dinner but fun if you want to meet other people. The dishes sparked conversation because they were well presented. I had the bone marrow app which was tasty and different followed by the sea bass which was decent. For desert we had the sunday and fritters. Not impressed. They lacked depth and individual flavor between ingredients. Overall, we had a good time and if I return I would like to try the chop or the filet."

"Very nice restaurant with excellent food. It's very small so there is nowhere to stand when your table isn't ready when it's supposed to be. I don't mind when that happens, but it's no fun when there is not a comfortable place to wait. We had a 7:30 reservation for a group of 8. We didn't get our table until 8:30, but they were gracious and got us free drinks. Unfortunately, there was really no where to stand and drink them!"

"Broadway's reputation preceded our business dinner there mid-week. While the menu was enticing and encouraging, the food that made it to the table was a disappointment. My lamb shank was bland, and the accompanying sides did not compensate. The filet was average. My associate thought the sea food dish (scallops) was good, but noted that he didn't finish it. The Octopus appetizer was probably the best item of the evening. Given the price level, I had much higher expectations. Service was off this evening, probably because there was a large 5 course wine dinner in progress, so the regular reservation patrons tended to get overlooked."

"I have been to Broadway at least 6 times and can say, without qualification, that everything we have ordered has been superb. Sitting at the counter, as I did this last time, was quite fun, and added a new dimension to the experience. If you haven't tried the braised pork cheeks appetizer, do so. The pan roasted scallops w/ risotto are classic, as are the mussels and the roasted Brussels sprouts w/ chorizo -- all delicious! The fish has always been super fresh and impeccably prepared. And the beef sliders . . . as good as you will find anywhere. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"

"Food was great. We had to ask for our drinks several times. It was extremely noisy. My group of four had a hard time hearing each other through out dinner. The seating was too close to other tables. We had to keep moving our tables to get in and out of our seats."

"I hosted a business dinner based on a recommendation from friends. All were impressed by the menu, service and vibe of this Laguna Beach gem. If you want to break away from the rather ordinary OC eateries that never seem to transcend and find that unique "place" that combines top cuisine and relaxed, but extraordinary service... be sure to experience Broadway. I'll be back for that special business dinner and personal dining."

"Really outstanding, all around. Our server was spectacular (I wish I remembered her name, I want to say it was Janice). She highlighted several items from the menu, was super descriptive and informative, and really knew her stuff. Both my husband and I were really impressed. The food was delicious - between the two of us, we ordered: bone marrow, sashimi, chicken entree, pork duo entree, and sundae for dessert. I have already recommended this restaurant to friends and would absolutely go back again. It's definitely on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for!"

"The meal was fabulous. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant, the new decor (we use to eat at 5 Feet which was in this building before) was very nice. Highly recommend Broadway it is now one of my top 3 restaurants the other two restaurants are Tabu Grill and Post Ranch in Big Sur and now Broadway is included. Broadway was recommended to me from one of my best friends."

"Waiter had too many tables long time before he came over and when he did he kept getting order wrong and dishes came late. He was over worked. The worst thing was that they sitted us by the door and the hostess kept standing holding the door open for everyone coming in and out and every time, which was often, we would get a very cold blast of air. I ask her to stop and she did not."

"We loved the hip atmostphere, although some of the seating was a bit crowded, especially if you are seated right next to the bar area, as we were.
I really enjoyed my pork entree although thought it was a bit too small of a portion and was still hungry. The only thing I really did not like was the selection of starters; i felt like the restaurant was trying too hard to be chic chic and it was difficult to find something that most would eat. A few more regular items might help. My husband really like the flat iron steak and the portion was good. Our friend has the trout and did not care of it, sort of plain. Our fries were good but sort of burnt. The chocolate dessert was sort of good with the spice, but not great."

"We went with another couple and had a great evening. The food is very creative and well-presented. We all ordered a different entree from the fish to the flat steak and we were all very happy.
