"We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and overall experience at Peninsula Grill. Our waiter was lovely as were all of the staff who tended our table. The food is delicious, beautifully presented and unique. We ate the rib eye steak with brandy pepper sauce, the appetizer "Lobster 3-ways" and the Bibb Salad. All great. They are known for their coconut cake which we didn't order but those next to us were delirious while eating theirs!"

"Wonderful in almost every way. I don't enjoy the small tables for 2 crammed too close. This might be fine in NYC (actually I refuse to sit there too) but if you can arrange a proper dining table, every other aspect is special!"

"We came here to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary while vacationing in the area. Our waiter Mark and the entire staff were extremely attentive and paid extra attention to detail. The food and service were excellent and they even brought our our dessert with a special "Happy 25th Anniversary" message inscribed on the plate! Made our special occasion extra special. Highly recommended."

"Tonight, we went to Peninsula Grill celebrating a birthday, it was heavenly. The ambiance is nice, we had a table in the back of the restaurant inside by the open kitchen line. The service was impeccable. I had the local grilled swordfish accompanied by the most delectable sauce ever, a ginger-lime beurre blanc. It was sinful, I could have licked the plate. We noted how perfectly portioned each dish was, and I agree. We finished our meal with the coconut cake with coconut anglaise and strawberries. They were nice enough to write "Happy Birthday" on the plate.
Although Peninsula Grill is expensive it is well worth the trip for a special occasion. I'd say its one if the best meals I've had. I highly recommend it!"

"Maitre'd was gracious and we were seated promptly despite a very busy night. Service was outstanding; enthusiastic, energetic, polite and attentive! Each and every dish we had was delicious. The lobster trio appetizer was a huge favorite of the table. All of the seafood was exceptionally fresh and delicious and the duck was amazing.. And there is a very good reason the coconut cake is so famous! We love exciting and interesting food that is well made, and this was the best meal we have had in a long time!"

"We had heard about Peninsula Grill but this was our first dining experience here. We made our reservations 3 weeks before our visit to Charleston. We were not disappointed ! "We sat on the patio, and could look into the formal dining room. The veranda was perfect filled with lush greenery, gas lanterns and an alley view of the street with envied onlookers passing by.
The food was excellent, fresh grooper with lobster mashed potatoes, and other amazing accompaniments.

"Our dinner included the oyster stew, the Bibb & Apple salad, a steak, and the pan roasted scallop entree. We thought the food was good but did not meet the high expectations we had going in. We also ordered a side of the goat cheese smashed potatoes which was good but overpriced for the small serving size. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful."

"Since we were in Charleston for my husband's birthday, we decided to go to the Peninsula Grill for dinner as we had a memorabile meal there the last time we were in Charleston a few years ago. We were not disappointed as the food and service was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive but not intrusive. While the prices are a little on the high side, it was well worth it for this celebratory dinner and we highly recommend it. The place is renown for it's coconut cake for dessert as it is their signature dish. My husband, who is not necessarily a coconut fan still loved it and I would advise you to try it as well. You will not be disappointed. This meal has been our one dinner out on this vacation and it was worth the splurge."

"My husband and I truly enjoyed our experience at Peninsula Grill. The restaurant was gorgeous and the food and service was excellent. We started with the Lobster 3 Ways, had a delicious beet salad, husband had the veal porterhouse and i had the ribeye. Everything was cooked to perfection. "The food was good. Loved the vidalia mashed potatoes. Both my husband and I ordered the center cut filet, it was prepared as requested, very tender and juicy. Skip the salad, not enough content for the price. Also, we were underwhelmed by the desserts. We shared the banana panna cotta which was recommeded by our server, it was good, but not worth the $10 price tag. I also purchased a piece of coconut cake to go; I was determined I had to try it due to all it's publicity. However, I found it pretty tasteless and ended up throwing over half of it out. Overall it was a good experience, not great, the main course is priced within reason; however, all the additional items are way over priced for what you get."

"My husband and I have been coming to Charleston atleast 2 times a year for the last 4 years while our daughter attended Cof C. We made a point of eating at the finest places in town but for whatever reason had not been to The Peninsula Grill. This wknd our daughter graduated and so we hit it and one other that we hadn't yet visited plus one of our favorites. We were blown away by TPG. Everything about it was wonderful. We only hate that we never tried it before! But we will be back!!!"

"The Penninsula Grill is one of the best restaurants in the country, not just Charleton. Food and service were exceptional. Their food presentations were top shelf, including dessert. Their presntation of the banana panna cotta was the best I have ever seen -unbelievale artistic prsentation."

"I have always wanted to eat in the courtyard at the Peninsula. I looks magical as you pass by and glimpse past the gates and the lush greenery. We decided to go there for desserts on a beautiful May evening. It was every bit as wonderful as I thought.
Their famous coconut layer cake lived up to its reputation. A chocolate, dark, milky, all of the above - cake was divine.

"Brougt a group of 7 for a business dinner here. Wait Staff was great (our server had help bringing out the dishes so we all received our food at the samde time), food was delicious and timing was perfect. There was just the right amount of background noise to keep things lively without having to raise our voices to talk to one another.
Save room for dessert - our table split a piece of coconut 12 layer cake and the banana pudding. Both were great (especially the banan pudding).
Please note - there was no valet parking the evening we were there and parking can be difficult. Take a cab if you have to."

"For me it takes 5 stars in all categories to garner an overall 5 star rating and this one was close. Had a nice corner two top that made this anniversary dinner special. Foie gras app as good as I've had in recent memory. Duck entree was excellent if not just a tiny bit sweet. Wife's sauce with lobster and scallop entree was simply fantastic, seasoned perfectly. Desserts - chocolate creme brulee and the famous coconut cake were tops if not rather large which wasn't bad I suppose. Service was attentive but never like the opening of more San Pellegrino water without asking. Ambiance - fine dining / romantic noise ok. Very fresh and as good as it gets in Charleston although have yet to try to newest spots."
