"Good place to grab some food before seeing a show at the Troubadour. The food was good, but the service was horrible. So if you do come before a show, give yourself a lot of time. The food comes out quick, but the drinks (incl water), ordering food and getting the check takes awhile. You have to track down your server more than once."

"We went there on a Friday night around 7:30 and it was the perfect time to go because we got a great table and there were plenty of people there, but it wasn't too noisy yet. The food was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend the hen of the woods mushroom with the soy-balsamic glaze and parmesan cream, the kale crostini, the scallops with ricotta, and the bone marrow. The blackberry and bacon pizza was alright, but not the best thing on the menu. We had a delightful server who gave us some great recommendations. I would highly recommend this Mercato for people looking for a great meal in a fun atmosphere."

"From the time you enter you are in a good place. Smiles and laughter greet you from the greeter and the hostees and the entire working force. The manger (Anna Sager) is not only beautiful, but she let you know by her grace and smile that she is more than a beautiful face and stature, but a wonderful person inside and outside. Tthe food is more than you can ask for as far and taste and colors and the wonderful smell. This place is very close to Venice (Italy) in it services and style. Do not look for prices that at a fast food, but they are not so far out. I thank the entire crew for thier wonderful smile and service. Thank you Kenny. PS the menu is not what you are expecting. but it offer and new and great outting."

"This was my first time dining at Mercato di Vetro. Based on my wife's previous experiences, I anticipated high quality small plates, attentive service, and a vibrant ambiance/scene . All my these expectations were met. We ordered five items: Squash Blossoms, Grilled Pear salad with Mezclun Lettuce, Radish salad, Branzino, and the Flat-iron steak. There were no hiccups in the preparation of these small plates. All items were priced between $12 and $25 dollars. I guess my only complaint is that the steak did not come warm, but I can understand given the medium-rare preparation it might not come piping hot.
The service was very attentive. Given that we booked our reservation for 6pm, at the time of opening, we wouldn't expect otherwise."

"In general everything was quite good. Beef marrow was quite good, though not as good as Walter Manzke's when he was at Church & State (and not as large). Gelato was quite good, though not as good as Rivabella. Squash Blossoms were good, but nothing to compare to MB Post. Kale Pizza was good, better than Pizza at Sotto, but not up to what you can get at Milo & Olive. Duck Meatballs were very good, lamb was quite good, hen-of-the-woods exceptional. Portions were somewhat small, and prices somewhat high, & noise level was very high (during happy hour anyway). Service was exceptional, especially given the crowd.

"I have been here 4 times over 2 years. I like it more each time. (I still like its sister restaurant, Cleo, more, but...) Some of the dishes are really, really delish. Its not too foodie, but interesting and complex. You must order the Hen of the Woods mushrooms, they are cooked so great. I had the tongue and the lamb, both were great. We tried one of the big bottles of beer, that come in a champagne bottle, which was good. The wines are good, I think some people, who are intense oenophiles, might find the wine list lacking, but I think they have a broad enough selection at decent prices."

"The food may be the only thing keeping this place open, because the service was sub par, and the management has no idea what they're doing. We witnessed them mishandle two accidents (one spill at our table and one at the table right next to ours) so poorly that we actually bonded with the next table over the hilarity of the situations. The place was noticeably empty too, and we couldn't figure out why. There are so many other fantastic italian and small plates restaurants with better, more refined service in LA--we wont be back."

"Read the reviews ahead of time and I have to laugh. We had the same experience. They said be prepared to wait. They do not honor your reservation time. The Manager is very nice and apologizes and brings over drinks. That is exactly what happened to us. We waited 45 minutes and my husband wanted to leave. Just at that moment, we got our table. The food was amazing, so it made up for the long wait. Once we sat down, the service was outstanding. Order the pizza with the mushrooms! We will return, but we know what we are in for."

"I usually like this place very much, with a good combination of great food, lively environment, and excellent service, except the last piece was missing at my last visit. The service staff is usually very attentive and accommodating, but our waiter last time made it seem like he was doing us a favor being our server and seemed "too cool" to be there. When asked about certain dishes and what they came on the side, he was not sure and then said he doesn't make the choices and decisions back in the kitchen. Furthermore, he did not know any of the promotional deals that this restaurant has on certain days of the week, i.e. Pizza/Pasta and Peroni beer deal on Mondays. Overall, I hope this is a one-off experience and my next visit is better."

"SBE got it right with Mercato di Verto. The ambience was clean yet chic. I would suggest trying to get a seat on the second floor.
Britney was great: pleasant, energetic and honest. She was delighted to explain the menu as it was our time there. She recommended the Potatoe Gnocchi, Hen of Woods and Duck Meatballs. Awesome!!!!
The only reason I gave Mercato 4 stars was that they forget the Hen of Woods. We had to wait a bit longer and it was comped (unexpected ). It was worth the wait! :-)"

"My husband and I frequent Mercato frequently and have never been disappointed. The food is consistently delicious. We usually grab a seat at the upstairs bar and eat dinner since we like to be spontaneous and can't get last minute reservations. P.S. the donuts are an absolute MUST for dessert."
