"The food was great. I ate the best ahi tuna steak i have ever eaten. the steak tartar was delicios and all of the side dishes were flavorful and perfect. Our server had a great personality, was super helpful and all around amazing. This place is expensive but worth every penny."

"This restaurant went the extra mile to ensure that this special night was spectacular! Happy Anniversary card and rose petals on the table. Our waiter greeted us with two glasses of champagne. ! We started with the Calamari that had great presentation and taste! Then on to their Lobster Bisque. My wife opted for their Pan Seared Scallops that were perfectly cooked. I chose their Halibut that was very tasty along with the sauce. Finally, Eddie V's staff surprised us with Banana Foster with rum butter cake/butter pecan ice cream. On the plate they wrote "20 20 20 20 Amazing" in chocolate syrup. The dessert tasted great just as the rest of the meal. I cannot say enough about our extraordinary evening!! Eddie V's definitely earned 5 stars!!"

"Incredible evening. Incredible food . Five people ordered five different appetizers and entrees and all were thrilled with the quality and taste of the each dish. Our waiter was superb; he knew 100% of the details of each dish and made our choices extremely tough. Not only was he articulate, but very knowledgeable of the food he was serving. That makes a huge difference to diners when choosing from a menu. He was spot on and our evening was really a ten plus. Eddie V's is a "go to" restaurant in San Diego for us.
Two birthdays were celebrated and the desserts presented for our table were superb. Bananas Foster ignited at the table was "melt in your mouth" delicious and one of the best desserts we have ever had anywhere!"

"This was a birthday dinner celebration. Eddie V's made a special effort to have us at a view table overlooking the ocean. The staff was marvelous from the front desk to the waiter to the busboy who had to adjust the temperature on the portable heater. Really great attention to service. His suggestions were spot on. A few minor slips kept the food rating from being higher. TOO MUCH hot chile oil spoiled a beautiful tuna tartare and the wine list needs more lower priced options. "Very disappointed with Eddie V's manager. My girlfriend ordered the Filet Mignon "Medium" and explained to the lovely waitress that she wanted it "pink" all the way through. When our entrees came out the waitress asked my gf to cut the steak open to confirm it was properly cooked...it was not. It was barely "rare". Deep red, bloody all the way through. She took it back and after I was almost done with my entree the manager brought back the Filet. This time it was a charred hockey puck! And it was the same piece of meat! I asked the manager if it was the same piece of meat and he said "yes" with a "why of course attitude". No apologies, nothing. Waitress was nice about it but the manager was simply useless. Didn't even offer an I'm sorry!"

"I don't generally write reviews but felt compelled because this place was amazing! It was a first time visit on a friend's recommendation for an anniversary date. Good wine list, the sole was the best I have had, and the bananas foster was a very good end to the meal. Everything was so good I really over ate. The real reason for the review however is the outstanding service we received. From the hostess to the waiter to the manager, everyone went out of their way to make this night so special. VIP treatment that was so genuine is the thing that most made the night so memorable."

"Was so happy to find this place with a one-night visit to La Jolla. The food and service are both outstanding. The ocean view is gorgeous!
