Vivo Kitchen is located in the Village of Sewickley, nestled among the boutiques, art galleries, and specialty shops that line Beaver Street. Vivo opened its doors in Bellevue in 2000, and relocated to Sewickley in 2011. Consistently voted in the "Top 25 Best Restaurants" by Pittsburgh Magazine, as well as "Best New Chef". A focus on fresh and local ingredients, bringing you small plates, fresh pasta, grilled meats and fish, as well as house made desserts.
"This is a 'can't miss' restaurant in the heart of Sewickley Village. Small plates or full dinner, the options are many, the menu is a bit eclectic but you won't go wrong with anything you choose. (the pork& chevre meatballs in spicy pepper sauce are awesome) On top of the great food and wine, it has a great soho vibe, w/appropriate background music, clean, and contemporary. Outdoor dining is also a must if available near the fire. My wife and have dined here several times and love going back. The service is top shelf and at times the owner will visit with the patrons to gauge their opinions on the food. I can't recommend this place enough. GO!"

"We enjoyed our entire dining experience. Starting with a tasty pear app. The main course was excellent and they modified one dish at our request - great!! We finished our meal with a very nice desert and our own pot of French press coffee."

"Very under whelmed and disappointing. Not like when they were in Bellvue. Pricey, bland, mediocre food and very small portions. You can read my complete review on Urban Spoon. We were looking forward to a good meal for our anniversary but this was not the place. My appetizer had no flavor whatsoever and when I told them they thanked me. Entrees not much better, didn't venture into dessert. Service was adequate but could have been better. Our waiter was the bartender so we took a back seat. Extensive wine list, they could throw in some less expensive wines (there are some decent ones). My husband said he might give them a second chance but I wont, too many other good places. I miss the old Vivo, it was always an adventure in good eats!"

"Chef is always switching up the menu, making each visit an explosion of new tastes. One consistent menu item, that we are always happy to have, is the pasta. Best sauce in Pittsburgh!"

"Will definitely reccommend and will return. Food was tasty for most dishes. Appetizer pork/chevre meatball was delish but sauteed mushrooms not so much. Good & large butter lettuce salad w/truffle oil. Flat iron steak was acceptable but lacked pizzaz."

"I have been to many restaurants in my lifetime. Some very casual to some very elegant. In those forty years however, I never was told after making a reservation that I would have to sit facing the kitchen! This is my over all experience. It was the Valentine holiday. I made a reservation 24 hours in advance. We arrived 10 minutes in advance of stated time. The Hostess asked for my name and in a restaurant that was 70 % empty. Took my wife and I to a small table towards the very back of establishment. When of course my wife simply asked if we could sit in another area or perhaps by a window? We immediately were told "NO!. This is the arrangement". So my valentine had to sit facing the noisy working kitchen for the evening."

"Went in for Valentine's Day dinner, not sure what to expect, but was overwhelmingly surprised on the great time we had there. The food was excellent, we started with the roasted beet salad and the pork meatballs. The beet salad was fantastic, a must order when you visit, the pork meatballs were spicy and had a cheesy sauce that was equally spicy, if you like heat, this is the ticket. We had the flat iron steak and the lamb chops. Both were cooked to near perfection, and were delicious, would order again on next visit. We had a wonderful bottle of Tuscan wine, and finished the night with pistachio gelato and a deconstructed cheesecake We are going back next saturday with friends, looking forward to another great meal."

"We tried the spagetti with lobster, spicy and flavorful. It is a comfortable neiborhood spot. Choclolate dessert is a hit. The beet salad with a ricotta like cheese was my favorite"

"We enjoyed the food. My chicken was delicious but the kale with winterberries was on the salty side which I personally relayed to the cook. The flat iron steak was delicious according to my husband and the mixed veggies were delicous. We both had the "blood like orange with fennel and baby arugula salad which was again delicous. We purchased the half off bottles of wine and both agreed that the the Hacienda Merlot was very good. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Would return."

"This was our first time at Vivo, and I have to say we will be back. The ambiance was romantic with the dim lighting and music playing in the background. We visited during restaurant week and the specials offered were fantastic. I had the flat iron and it was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the sea bass and it was equally as tasty. I'm looking forward to going back after January to try some of the cocktails and a glass of wine."
