"This is an upscale, trendy modern mexican restaurant. Great outdoor patio with great views of Hermosa Pier. Service and food out top notch. The margaritas are creative and high quality, made from real fresh ingredients. Try the Pepino Diablo Margarita. Nice and spicy. This place does not disappoint."

"Let me start by saying the food was really good. The drinks were a joke. Pretty much a shot glasses worth of alcohol with tons of ice to make your drink seem bigger. The food and ambiance was great, but not sure we'd return being that it was expensive for what it was."

"Authentic Mexican cuisine served with a flair. The best Tortilla soup I've ever had. Another small plate I would recommend was the Taqueria, which you could mix and match for a total of any 3 listed. I really enjoyed this restaurant. Gracious wait staff, lively scene and great margaritas, too."

"LOVE THIS PLACE! Their food is just great. I usually don't eat tortillas but the tortillas here are so good I ate 3 of them! Please make sure you try the salsa quemada and the ceviche blanco; they are generous with the big chunks of white fish. The staff is great!!!! I would definitely take the 82 mile drive to come here again and again. I have already recommended this place to 2 of my friends."

"We love the food at Palmilla and always have a fabulous meal. Palmilla called me to confirm my reservation a few days before and informed me they had a large party at 4 pm and a 9:15 pm the same evening. I was not sure as to what the message was they were trying to convey, that I could be seated after my 7:15 reservation and I had to be out by 9:15. The service was quick and we were done by 8:30 and that was with us taking our time. Upon arrival they wanted to sit us outside, and I had her check to see of she could seat us inside and there was plenty of room and as a matter of fact those inside tables were still available when I left at 8:30. Food is excellent, service was rushed to accommodate more important patrons."

"Our server was very attentive and prompt. The reason I gave a lower star rating is this is the second time the person who was supposed to put the order in for our yummy fresh tortillas forgot. Because it happened two times to me I feel like they could improve in that area...that is one of the reasons to dine here :)"

"I always love my food and experience at Palmilla! I LOVE the tortillas that come out immediately with honey butter and salsa - soooo delish. We started with the queso app and added chirizo and mushrooms. For my main meal, I had the trio ceviche and my husband had a short rib taco and cheese enchilada. Everything was great, I always love their fun cocktails and the service was great too. Can't wait to go back! If you haven't been, you need to go - you won't be disappointed. It been open for a few years now and it's still hard to get a reservations :)"

"Amazing ! I am a total foodie and the dishes here are exceptional, everything we ordered was amazing (try the skirt steak and the shrimp tacos - OMG!). The drinks are delicious, special and generous. Love this place and the staff is friendly, prompt and fun. You won't be disappointed.

"I bit bummed that our drink order ticket got "lost" had to ask a few times about our drinks after seeing other table get theirs before us and we had ordered before. Other wise food is good and the servers are nice. I am a local so I want my local great places to keep on top of their game to keep the middle ageded (not 20, 30) I am talking 40 and 50 because we come there wanting to come and have dinner and drinks. Get on top of it and make sure even the older looking people are taken care of. Thanks."

"Great food, great service but a bit LOUD!!! When Hostess calls to confirm reservation she always tells you the time of the following party's reservation so you "get out" for the next party to be seated. This happened twice and I made reservations 1 1/2 weeks in advance. This has never happened to me before when I have made reservations at other restaurants and I think that it is a policy Palmilla should eliminate!"

"This restaurant offers an amazing experiencing from the decor to the service and food! The Mexican Hot Chocolate Martini is an absolute favorite-who knew tequila and Chocolate could make such an unique & pleasing drink! And this isn't your normal mexican food, it is so much more! Lastly, this restaurant-or should I say their Hostess-knows how to work the tables. Ever go to a hot spot and see empty tables just sittung there becaus ethey are reserved? Well at Palmilla if you show up without a reservation (recommend you make one though cuz it is small) and they have a table that is reserved-but for an hour or so later-they'll ask if you can be done by a certain time. If you can, you can be seated pretty much right away - now that's Service!"
