"I was there for Mother's Day. I was a little disappointed, I would have thought that there would be more choices. Like sides (potatoes, salads, bread baskets). We all had steaks, with no sides and mine was to salty. I would have love to sample some of the Mac and cheese ( since that is suppose to be Micheal favorite) but it was only offered as an entree. Garlic bread to much garlic.

"We were in Chicago on business and I wanted to find a place close to our hotel for a nice dinner with colleagues. I was hesitant to choose a celebrity restaurant, and was very pleasantly surprised at every turn. The hostesses were very accommodating for the wheelchair user in our party and couldn't have been nicer or more considerate. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but our server was the best part. I wish that I knew his name. Suffice it to say he is a heavy set Italian man with glasses and a serious passion for food and service. We had an amazing meal, in no small part due to our server."

"Overall the food was expensive and the portions were small. I was very disappointed in my dining experience. We made reservations and waited with anticipation for this evening. We chose this restaurant over 2 other fine dining restaurants and will not be returning here on our next visit to Chicago. It is a shame that Michael Jordan chose to build such a pricey restaurant when sadly most of his fans will not be able to dine at this establishment."

"Incredible dinner at MJ's! A very nice bottle of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs Champagne was our drink to wake our appetite and to guard us through the excellent food. The double smoked bacon is standing out of the starters but the carpaccio was also great. Mains included halibut, salmon and lamb chops with the house special fries - no regrets! Fantastic food, excellent service, beautiful seating. The building is also something special and the interior of the restaurant is eye catching too...."

"An exceptional bone-in filet along with bacon potatoes and a bottle of Malbec made for a terrific meal, but the iceberg wedge salad was a disappointment, with tough lettuce and a blah Ranch-like "blue cheese" dressing, and although there were just two of us, we were cramped at a very small window-side table in a half-full Tuesday night restaurant. I'd also like to see some more crab and lobster options. What sets a steak house like Gibson's apart -- and above -- is coupling a great steak with a mammoth lobster tail."

"The service was stellar. It was my fiance's birthday and our server, JC, went above and beyond. The steak was absolutely delicious, we got the porterhouse for two (filet mignon and NY strip); I don't remember enjoying steak that much in a long time. The sides, french fries with three dipping sauces, and carmelized onions, complimented so well. Lastly, the 23 layer chocolate cake is just so cool you have to get it. The restaurant is beautiful, but we did wish there were more memorabilia from Jordan. Would add to the experience."

"The fillet was really really good. The delmonico was good, but if you like fillets, it's not even a comparison.
I was skeptical about the garlic bread, because come on, how can it be That good? But it was. It was baked squares topped with a light cheese sauce. Definitely follow the recommendations for this one.
Also, I had the onion soup. Usually people fail to make the broth well, but theirs had a lot of rich flavor. I was actually impressed.
That's all I had. I would like to try again sometime though."

"Great steak, great apps, great salads, and great brussels sprouts! Yes this restaurant is on the tourist section of Michigan Avenue but it was way above ant tourist restaurant. I had one of the best filets that i have ever had. In fact I was getting full but still finished the steak. And our server, Kate, was amazing. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and woth every penny. I look forward to returning again."

"My wife had to send her steak back. It was supposed to be rare and it came out charred. The second steak they brought out was...charred again. The waitress had no interest in helping us even though the steak was literally burned on the outside.
For some reason they play loud hard rock and rap. Very strange.

"Loved the restaurant. This evening was special as it was our 11 year anniversary and the other restaurants we'd chosed for the past 10 did not hold a candle to Michael Jordan's. What a gem!!! I want to give special thanks to our server Jessica, who left us alone just enough and made her presence felt just enough...with her capable friendly attitude to make this an unforgettable evening. "In our party, there were two adults and a toddler. I wondered how our nearly three year old would enjoy her experience. My daughter did not have a separate entree but was able to enjoy the meal. Prior to choosing MJ's Steakhouse, I read select reviews and the dining experience seemed contingent on your server; contrary to what was read, our needs were met by more than one person i.e., recommendations were made, our glasses were filled, and our daughter was given stickers, and a coloring sheet.

"Several friends had recommended MJ's - so I finally tried it. In a city full of good steak houses, this may be the best. The waiter was knowledgeable and attentive; in fact the service was superb. I ordered the Delmonico - a house specialty. It was perhaps best steak I have eaten in 10 or 15 years. The sides and appetizers were outstanding. Companion ordered fish and chicken and the reviews were all first rate. I strongly suggest you give this place a try, you will not be disappointed."

"I definitely have to recommend the garlic bread! I wasn't going to get an appetizer and had started to regret that I'd ordered one, but once I had that first bite my mind changed right away. If they could make bread taste that good, I was even more excited to try the steak. It might have been one of the best steaks that I've ever had. Unfortunately, my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I decided that I had to get the 23 layer chocolate cake. I mean, everything had been amazing how could you go wrong with the signature dessert? This really was the one part of my meal that just wasn't exceptional. Don't get me wrong, it's good but when compared to everything else that I had that night, it just wasn't on the same level."

The best thing about our meal were the sides, and of them, the mushrooms topped the list.
We were three in our group. Being that it is a steakhouse, you expect great meat. Two steaks and one rack of lamb were ordered. By far, the greasiest / oiliest rack of lamb that I have ever ordered. The filet tasted like it was soaked in Worcestershire sauce before being cooked, but was cooked to order. The third main entree was a NY strip, and sampling it, it was the best of the three meats that we ordered.
Seriously, it was a disappointment. I figured that MJ has eaten at plenty of steakhouses, but wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't eaten at his own more than once."

"I took my daughter there for a special birthday dinner (her 21st birthday). It was our first time at a steakhouse in Chicago.our original reservation time was 6:30 pm, but we called and changed it to 7:30 with no problem. Our waiter was very helpful in explaining all the dishes. We had the filet mignon, it was so good and tender you could cut it with your fork. The appetizers were amazing also, we had their garlic bread and their bacon, both were outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone."

"MJ's remains one of the premier steakhouses in a town full of them. The steaks, of course, are outstanding, but it is the sides that really distinguish the menu. The garlic bread with buttermilk-blue cheese sauce is a must. Instead of sautéed spinach, try the mixed greens. The fries come spiced with 3 dipping sauces on the side. Really great variety and - most important - flavors."

"We took our teenagers on Easter and were a little disappointed. The decor is nothing special, nice enough but other than Micheal Jordan's name on the front door, you would never know he had anything to do with the restaurant. There were no Jordan pictures, shoes, jerseys etc. displayed inside. We read online about the Easter Special which was a filet and lobster for $49. When we asked our waitress about it she had no idea what we were talking about and said it must be a dinner special not lunch. She said she would check with the chef, but we never heard back from her. Of the 4 of us, 3 of us liked our food. My husband got the hanger steak and said it was really chewy. ( maybe it is suppose to be....he has never eaten one before)."

"The appetizers were amazing! The crab cakes are not stacked with breading - they're stuffed with crab! Excellent! The appetizers and the sides (3 types of mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts) were the best part. My main dish (sea scallops) were not well prepared but my daughter's Fillet Mignon was perfect. The waitress was great - very nice, knowledgeable, personable and we really liked her!"

"I had the bone in filet and it was the best steak I have ever had. The potatoes in duck fat was absolutely delicious, only thought it had too many onions and not enough potatoes. The service was unbelievable. We had four waiters attending to us and they were excellent. I would definitely return and recommend to anyone. It was expensive but the food and service was great."

"Michael Jordan's was the BEST stop on our quick trip to Chicago! Filet was melt in your mouth perfect - service was outstanding. When I booked the reservation on line I mentioned we would be visiting for my (adult) daughters birthday celebration, that was the ONLY time I said anything about the birthday. When they brought us our cocktails, Lana made a point to ask my daughters name and wish her a happy birthday & upon bringing us the 23 layer chocolate cake for dessert they attached a candle to the plate and had her make a wish. It was very quaint and just perfect. We have been raving about it since & will be back the first chance we get. Thank you."

"One of the best steaks I've ever eaten! It was so tender you barely had to cut or chew. You can't pass up the garlic bread, either. If you're looking for a place for a special night out, this is it. It's on the expensive side (the steaks were $40-50) but it was worth it."

"I think that Michael Jordan's was average. The food was OK. Nothing really wow-ed us. It was a bit pricey and we knew that. I ordered a tonic with a lime which I had to ask the waiter for since he had forgotten it. When it came it was a club soda with a lemon. How hard an order was that? "Was really hoping to be impressed...my son and I do an annual road trip somewhere to catch some sports and attack a few steak houses. We've been to many all over the US.
My steak had a salty crust almost too hard to cut through, was extremely over seasoned and salty and overdone. Fries were also extremely overseasoned. Started with a cocktail and wasnt asked if I wanted a glass of wine until I was half done and only because I flagged down another waiter...ours was MIA. Wine came when I was basically done dinner!
Salads were ok and to be fair my son thought kis steak was ok.
I would have sent my steak back but we had a game to catch.
Chicago was way too many awesome steakhouses to choose from so I'd not come back here."
