"Our visit was a great experience! Very relaxing atmosphere. Service was very good BUT the food was out of this world. We had the special of the night which was Red Snapper and prime rib. Whow!!!!!

"We met another couple for dinner. The food and service were wonderful. The special-Snapper was to die for and the Shrimp and Grits were the best we've ever had.

"The food was delicious and can't wait to go back and try something else. We had the alligator appetizer, it was great! Great nightly specials and I had a perfect hamburger with crispy fried onion rings on it. Could not have been happier with the food and service. They brought out food so quick, it was outstandin!"

"We celebrated my husband's birthday at Terrace Cafe. It our first visit. The BBQ calamari appetizer was delicious, and so was the Mushroom soup - a great surprise! The server was attentive and made some great recommendations. The chef accomodated my request on the special (grill the lobster tail vs tempura, as indicated on the menu). It was great. My son enjoyed the Terrace Chicken and my husband thought the Terrace Steak and Egg was terrific. Overall it exceeded our expectations."

"For some eclectic options like fried alligator or chicken lollipops this is a place to try. The food was fantastic and the service was great. My wife and I took my mother there for Mother's day and she loved it. I had a fried oyster salad and it was great, a lot more oysters on my plate than I expected them to bring me. If you are in the Ballantyne area I highly recommend you give it a try."

"We are new to the area looking for nice restaurants. In the Charlotte area there are many and this is one is no exception. The Food is really good, the service was also. The only thing that I can say bad is that we were seated in the dining room at a table that faces the kitchen that when the doors open are in plain view looking into it. In our opinion that distracts from the overall look and feel of the restaurant."

"Went for dinner with a friend on a Tuesday night. The place was quiet when we arrived at 6:30, but filled up shortly after that. Food was outstanding. Portions were just right(even though I ended up taking some home with me). The service was very good. THis was a girls night out and we were 'catching up' (translate as talking and not ready to order). The waitress respected that and did not bother us until we gave her the sign that we were ready. After we ordered that food arrived quickly and was excellent in both presentation and taste. Will be returning!"

"Sunday brunch is very good in both service and quality of food. I would return for this. On Valentines Day, we went for dinner and found it to be subpar on several accounts: The hostess was not friendly and really lacked people skills - funny how just the lack of a smile from the hostess sets the tone for the evening. The waitress, although certainly nice enough, also failed to create a pleasant experience by expecting us to order desserts with the ordering of the appetizer and entrée, then rushed the food to us. Appetizer dishes weren't cleared prior to bring the entrée, etc. Clearly this shows a lack of basic restaurant service industry training. The food itself just was not good. Will not return for dinner."

"Honestly we were not impressed, the food was not exactly what we were expecting for $30 a person so I can only imagine what the normal prices are like. The service was decent however, our server was a bit over the top enthusiastic once he realized we were a reservation and not just walk in's because we think he thought he would get a better tip. Over all it was not a bad place but the food killed any hope of going back. The chicken santa fe that I had was not what I expected at all, the gaucamole was really more of an avacado paste, and the chicken was dry. My partner had the steak and it was filled with fat and just not really that good."

"I loved my meal!I had the Lemon chicken and the portion size was great as was the flavor. My husband had the grouper and loved that.
My only complaint is that the food was served too quickly. We had a 7:15 reservation and we were done in an hour even though we had the 4 course restaurant week special. I would have preferred a little bit of time between courses. Our table was very small and stuck in a corner but that was OK. On a Saturday night out we don't like our meal to feel rushed."
