"At Bobby Vans 54th Street, you can expect the same great service and the same great food as our other restaurants. Tucked away in another historic restaurant location, (at one time this was the hang out spot for such stars as Frank Sinatra and the rest of the Rat Pack) there is plenty of history and untold stories behind these walls, if only they could talk.
Conveniently located just east of Park Avenue and 4 blocks north of The Waldorf-Astoria, this is where you want to be. As you walk into the restaurant you’re greeted by our hosts and a large credenza filled with beautiful bottles of wine. Glancing to your left you overlook the spacious yet always occupied bar, where the bartenders know your name and have your drink waiting for you before you can even say hello. Separating the bar from the dining room is a glass window so you can see all the action of other diners enjoying their meals. The dining room has the good old fashioned steakhouse style with handcrafted wood walls, and F
"First things first ... this place is definitely the manly man's steakhouse. The environment catered to a business man's dinner, or out with the boys. There was a really loud table of men sitting next to us, and I felt kinda out of place in this business man's club environment.
Pros: The Surf & Turf was impressive. Very large lobster tail and filet mignon. The ribeye on the bone was also impressive. Wine was decent [Bell Syrah] Creme brulee was pretty good
Cons: slab of bacon was burnt hash brown is a misnomer ... it should be called home fries
As far as steak goes, it was good, but I've had equally good steak for a smaller bill."

"Service was top-notch. Our waiter was very professional. I had grilled salmon with spinach and mustard sauce and it was excellent. My lunch partners had salads and they thoroughly enjoyed them. Prices are fair for the quality. I recommend it highly!"

"This is an old school steakhouse with alot of old dark wood, wood tables etc. service was good always attending to our needs constantly. We ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach.
The steaks were cooked to perfection. The potatoes were very good. We ordered a bottle of Cab and yes it was double the price that you could buy in the store but what he heck it was overall a delicious meal."

"This classic steak was pretty decent. Not sure that I am impressed by aged steaks anymore. We were five people and rather than going with steak for four, which would have been just the right amount, the waitor goaded us in getting two steak dishes -- which we ended up taking almost a whole strip steak home. So be weary on the amount you can eat. I kinda hate when these scmancy restaurants push things on you. That extra steak was $50. What made the meal more palatable was my $100 off groupon."

Review 10 for Bobby Van's Steakhouse - 54th Street
"Classic steakhouse atmosphere, along with flawless, no-nonsense service. The steaks are great, the sides are fine. The martinis are generous. The only minus the night we were there were the soggy hash browns. It's a lively place, brimming with testosterone, just as it should be."

"We were rushed out in less than 1 hour and the creamed spinanch was frozen. it just seemed like they wanted everyone out of the restaurant quickly, even though it was pretty empty. We will never go back."

Review 18 for Bobby Van's Steakhouse - 54th Street
"The food was very good and up to the standards of Bobby Van's other locations. Service was very good and the unexpected treat was a bargain on wine prices for a Saturday night. We enjoyed ourselves and were not rushed at all. We had to delay our reservation due to travel issues and the restaurant was very accommodating."
