There is strength in numbers and the June 2006 opening of Southern California’s most anticipated restaurant in years – CUT and ultra lounge – sidebar, the triad of master chef Wolfgang Puck, renowned architect Richard Meier and the acclaimed Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel, became the most excited and talked-about restaurant and lounge threesome in the 21st century. A chic spot in the heart of Beverly Hills, CUT has become the place to see and be seen and has garnered high praise from prestigious outlets including the Los Angeles Times (Three Stars), Wall Street Journal and Wine Spectator, and was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” by noted food critic John Mariani in Esquire magazine. In 2007, CUT was nominated for "Best New Restaurant" by the James Beard Foundation, considered one of the highest marks of distinction within the culinary community. CUT is the recipient of one star in the prestigious Michelin Guide, 2008 and 2009 Los Angeles editions.

"From the appetizer to the main course to walking out of the restaurant the experience was what one would expect from such a renowned restaurant.

"The waitress that serviced our table was extremely professional and Informative. She showed us the different steaks and explained thoroughly on each cut so we were able to decide quickly on our order. We only wanted to order two dessert among the three of us but couldn't decide on the two choices; therefore, she gave us one free extra dessert for us to try. The only thing I regretted was not asking for her name so others could acknowledge her outstanding service. Dining here sure made my trip worthwhile and I will be back in the near future."

"UPSCALE service. Our server did an excellent job of explaining everything on the menu. The attention was so prominent, you would have thought we were the only ones in the restaurant. On a Saturday night, I found it a bit noisy for a romantic dinner and the restaurant music was a bit too loud for low conversation. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection. Another member of my party ordered fish and it was an impressive presentation bringing the entire fish (head included) to the table and deboning it. Definitely for a special occasion as it's very expensive and every item is a la carte."

"Love this restaurant! I've been here maybe 5-6 times and every single time Wolfgang Puck himself has come over to every table to ask how the meal was. How amazing is that? Regarding the food, there are so many different cuts of steak it's hard to decide which one. I went with the Wagyu Filet Mignon, and I'm so glad I did! It melts in your mouth. Get the mushrooms as your side, they're to die to."

"I've been to MANY steakhouses and the only one I can count on is CUT. Their method of finishing the steak creates a perfect taste. No need for any sauce or extra salt or pepper. Also an excellent spot for "star-gazing". I was also very lucky to have met Wolfgang Puc. On my recent visit. Very memorable experience."

"Great food.
Quite the scene (It's Beverly Hills, of course)
The American Wagyu is awesome. Super rich tasting. No sauces needed.
Everyone in our party ordered the Nebrasska corn fed steaks and we split a piece of the American Wagyu amongst the four of us. You definitely taste the difference in the Nebraska corn fed vs. American Wagyu.
Next time we will try the Japaneese Wagyu.
The marrow app is off the charts.
Love the mac and cheese.
Excellent wine selection.
After an excellent meal we split a Valrhona Chocolate Soufflé. Maybe we should have started with that.
The breads are great, but as my Aunt Eileen used to say "Don't fill up on bread! The main dinner should be savored. Be patient and wait for the good stuf."

"This is a good restaurant, but very expensive. The food this night was not as good as usual. I ordered a medium rare steak that initially came well done. They were eager to fix the mistake and made me another steak. By the time I got the second steak, my dinner companion was finished, and the steak steak was VERY rare.....cold center. I had to eat around the edges and just leave the rest."

"Cut almost didn't make the cut. Menu layout is nice highlighting different types of beef featured and there wide array of apps. The only problem is that with so many types of cuts available one would hope the server would be excited to go over the menu in depth not just walk up and ask " Are you ready to order"? Yes, I can read, but service is definetly a huge aspect of dining out and at this level of dining I don't just want an order taker. Dining room is sleek, but I don't typically associate steak with sleek. Team service can be a nice touch, but server shouldn't leave without at least formally introducing new server."

"We arrived early and after checking in sat at the bar, hostess promptly came to get us in time for our reservation. Service was great and food was excellent. We started with the bone marrow flan and ordered the NY tasting and lobster - everything was delicious. It is pricey but well worth the experience."

"The steaks were out of this world. The loo and tables etc, left a lot to be desired. Makeover! Tablecloths! We were actually told that there were glass tables not wood. That would even elevate the look. Look foreword to the improvements decor wise. We will come for the steak once in a while but will have to steer clear if we need any ambiance."

"First and foremost, I want to say this was one of the most memorable and fine meals we have ever experienced.
With that being said, this is not a restaurant for anyone who is on a budget. It's on the high end of the spectrum, and one must go into CUT knowing that you're going to drop some cash. It's more than worth it, but if you leave feeling like you've just made a major financial decision, it will cast a shadow over what should be one of the most satisfying meals you've enjoyed.
If you're in a position to sit down and be served a bonanza of the finest meats and wines, this is the place for you."

"Incredible night. You will pay dearly - our meal for four was just over $1000 for generous ordering of both food and alcohol, with gratuity, but it was really worth the splurge.
My boyfriend and I split a Kobe steak and lobster to create our own surf and turf and it was delectible. Service was great - extemely personable and warm without being stuffy. There were plenty of celebrities around, but without any annoying fanfare.
Wolfgang Puck's higher end restaurants have proven to be consistently amazing. Highly recommend."

"I had ordered a piece of Wagu steak and wanted it to be cooked "medium". The food served was way overcooked and was certainly a total waste of that good piece of beef. Also, the steak was very saltish.

"I had dinner here with a few friends a week ago and the service was excellent. We created our own tasting menu by ordering 4 different cuts of wagyu beef, appetizers, sides, and desert. It is a mix of American wagyu beef and 100% Japanese wagyu/kobe beef. Yes, you read it right, 100% Japanese wagyu beef that is flown in daily from Japan, oh yeah baby! I had the pork belly appetizer in Cut Las Vegas and it was amazing, but the pork belly here is a little thicker and not as tender. The seasoning on the American wagyu was excellent, but it seem a little over cooked when we ordered it medium rare. Now, the Japanese wagyu, OMG, it was wonderful, so tender, plenty of marbling, and it just melts in your mouth."

"Very good restaurant. Parking is a little confusing as the entrance to valet is hidden behind the restaurant. The service here is amazing. I ordered the kobe sashimi which was interesting, and an American Kobe steak, with my partner ordering a corn fed beef steak. "The service was impeccable and the staff was great. Our server was on top of it & VERY polite and gracious.. The setting was comfortable and unpretentious. Food was great. I don't eat meat so I can't comment on their steaks, but the 3 other people I was with ordered the sampler and they really enjoyed it. The veggie side dishes were excellent. I ordered fish and it was good. I'll definitely go back and would recommend to friends. Oh, and their pretzel rolls... Delicious!"

"While the food was delicious and the service quite good, my $100 Wolfgang Puck gift card was turned down when the almost $400.00 check for 2 diners arrived with a vague and unsatisfactory explanation for it's not being honored. Nothing stated on the card or their web site would lead anyone to believe that the card would not be honored. In fact after returning home I entered the gift cards code number and indeed it showed the $100 available and a reservations window popped up which when clicked clearly showed Cut restaurant as one of the choices. I have contacted the restaurant for further explanation, but no reply. Lame!"

"The food is expensive, but totally worth it, the service is excellent and the decor is beautiful. It would have been a perfect evening, but the loud rock music spoiled it for us. Don't get me wrong, I like rock and at a lower decibel might not have been bothered by this. But I kept asking myself "Why don't they play something really nice, like pretty much any Miles Davis CD." Unless you are really young eating to a background of Janis Joplin is not all that enjoyable, she is great and I have her on my iPod but I don't play her during dinner. The room is large and so are the tables, which is great except when the music is so loud you can't hear your table mates and have to shout to be heard yourself. Change the music and we'll be regulars!"

"While we had excellent service, we found the steaks to be sub par. Particularily, we found them to be bland and lacking the tenderness expected at this level. The meat itself was somewhat tender, but was not moist and juicy. We had American Wagyu Ribeye, Grass-Fed Fillet, Bone-In Fillet and Bone-In Ribeye with the same result on all. Not sure what all they hype is about. The steaks were cooked perfectly, but it took 2 tries on the Wagyu to get a better cut of beef as the first one was downright terrible. The restaurant acknowledged this and brought out a replacement without a fuss.
Desert was good, not great. We had the apple crumble which was just OK.
The ambiance, while clean and modern is cold and uninviting."

"The food was very mediocre. For the price I expected "Wow!" but instead I got a steak that was overly charred on the outside the first time, then overcooked on the inside the second time. I should have sent the second one back too, in retrospect. The sides were good. The best thing about the place were the cocktails. That's the only thing I'd go back for. If you want a good steak, go elsewhere. You'll get more for your money."

"Great food, Great service. I still have 3 complaints. First, the table was jammed between to other tables. Second, a dinner for two, Vaslentines day prix fix menu, with only 2 cocktails each, was $510. It was good, but not $510. good. My third gripe is that they include a 20% gratuity. It's not an option, it's just automatically included for a party of 2. And then, when the bill comes, it makes no mention of this and still has a blank space for tip. I had to look at the itemized copy to see tip was already added. It should clearstate that on the bill, with an "additional gratuity" line, but they were being sneaky and I almost tipped 20% again. One more cocktail and I might not have noticed and then the next day been very upset."

"I had not been to CUT in years. I don't know why because previous experiences were good to excellent. Years ago when CUT opened it was a difficult reservation. I could always get one, but it was a pain so I stopped going. This time no real problem using OPen Table.
I was pleased that several staff members remembered me and made a point to come over to say hello.
The food was excellent. A split bib lettuce salad was a perfect starter after martinis with a comp tuna tartar ap.
My 14 oz Nebraska corn fed 35 day aged steak was great, one of the best steaks I've had in La in years. The wine list and Sommelier Dana Farner worked well. Price very very high. Puck is standing for ultra high prices everywhere, Spago is out of sight!
