"The food at McCormick and Schmick's is excellent, as is the service. Our wait person, Daniel, was accommodating and most helpful with my gluten sensitivity. He kept checking my choices with the chef to make sure they were gluten free. I was dining with two friends who raved about their fish dishes, as well. I frequent McCormick and Schmick in NYC and in Hackensack, NJ at Riverside Plaza."

"Ordered the ultimate mixed grill seafood dinner. Food was very bland and average at best. Highly overpriced for quality of food and portion size. This was a special occasion for a birthday celebration in NYC. So many good restaurants... Wish we had made a better choice."

"We had the swordfish and shrimp. In addition to the spinach side every thing was delicious.
The wine list is extensive
The waiter was knowledable and offered suggestions. He answered any questions we had and discussed the specials of the day.
We went on Mothers Day and was given a sample of their truffles. Out of sight.
Looking forward to returning."

"The restaurant is beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious. Our server seemed a little new and nervous. It was very noisy when we first arrived, but I think it was due to cocktail hour. We loved the restaurant and can't wait to go back."

"I was looking foward to our dinner here after having enjoyed dinners at other McCormicks & Scmicks however I was completely dissaponited in the food. Fish had a funny taste to it, and the veggies even worse (it tasted like they put a smokey flavor on it maybe?). I could still taste it the next day :(
restaurant was not crowded...guess others knew what we already found out.
On a side note, service was good and our meal was relatively inexpensive but that can't overcome the food! That's what we get for going to a chain restaurant in NYC."

"The food here was ok I expected more considering it was in the city and I've heard great reviews about McCormick and Schmick's. They put our party of 5 near the door where the food servers come from the kitchen so we were constantly interrupted by excuse and almost near bumps of food on our laps.
The drink I ordered was not made well so I had to return it and order something different. I won't be running back here anytime soon."

"I took a couple of colleagues to M & S for a business lunch and we had a delightful experience. The special spring offerings looked delightful and refreshing and we tried several of them as well as some of the tried and true entrees that I particularly liked. We were treated very well and the food was delicious. We will definitely return."

"Had a business lunch there. Seafood selection was very large, although non-seafood options were limited. In general, prices seemed high versus other nearby restaurants with similar vibe. The desserts were HUGE...all way too big for a single person, resulting in a lot of waste. Would not object to returning, but it would not be my first choice in the area."

"We LOVED our experience at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood and cannot wait to go again! We were treated very well, although our service was a bit slow. The waitress made up for being so busy by hunting out and bringing us some Vietnamese hot sauce that we both crave. The food was succulent, well presented and perfectly delicious! Woth waiting for. "We chose the restaurant because we were looking for seafood. The place was hard to find based on the address listed and we had to call eventually to find it. The ambiance in the place was fair. The decor was dated. The bread was crispy and cold and the butter was frozen. I had the special which was salmon, shrimp and sea bass. It was not a lot of food, not particularly seasoned and the salmon was dry and slightly overcooked. My honey had the sea scallop dish that was very good. The overall experience was not very special considering but the company was excellent."

"When heading to Carnegie Hall this has been our go-to place for years. it consistently delivers and gives us a great experience before heading on with our night. While usually very good, this evening our meals arrived cold. The problem was taken care immediately and we will served a replacement meal within 10 minutes. Although some might look down at a "chain restaurant" I have had good experiences there and will continue to go. Standouts were the clam chowder- a cup was more than enough. And the parmesan crusted flounder which was melt in your mouth delicious."

"We were there for a pre-concert dinner so it was early in the evening. Had cocktails at the bar and were escorted to our table right on time. Service was excellent and the food was superb. The only thing that was a bit off was the background music--it seemed a little strident for the decidedly older crowd; something more mellow would have enhanced the ambiance. Overall--an excellent dining experience. We will return when the opportunity presents itself."

The entree - scallops -contained 3 medium sized scallops - not very flavorful either but that I consider luck of the draw. But 3??? The accompanying potato preparation and spinach were generous but for $30 I expected more. My companion get the $32 McCormick Seafood Trio - 2 shrimp preparations and salmon and the size of the piece of salmon was tiny - really sad.
I would not frequent a McCormick and Schmick again."

"It's a good location and roomy for large tables. And for a national chain, it's very good. However, the food was clearly pre-prepped, and at $30 an entree, the restaurant should be able to deliver a very fresh piece of tuna which is freshly cooked. Somewhat disappointing at $30 an entree."

"Food was substandard. Have been there on numerous occasions before and never had an issue. I had the lobster ravioli - five raviolis with a tasteless sauce and lobter which could have been langostino for all I know. Rubbery and tasteless... Will never eat there again."
