"The best thing about my dining experience was the server, Rahim. I don't know if he was super attentive given the fact I was an early diner, however, I could not have asked for better overall service from start to finish. He did recommend a bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer with jack cheese; it didn't have the 'bite' or the 'kick' I was expecting. My entree was the salmon stuffed with crab and brie and I found the dish overall to be somewhat bland; there were no real distinctive flavors in the stuffing, all just seemed to run together. This is one time where I should have listened to the server's recommendation for my entree - he knows best! Dessert was good; you can't go wrong with creme brulee!"

"We've been to this location before for dinner and brunch over a couple of times about 2 years ago and decided to return for a Mother's day dinner. It seems the quality has declined significantly from appetizers to dinner. My mussels in broth tasted as if they were swimming in a sea of tomato and red pepper flakes. I like spicy so it was ok with me, but the over use of heat resulted in the flavor of the mussels being masked. My son actually cringed when he tasted he kid's menu mac and cheese. I tasted it and it was so loaded with chunks of garlic, I had to down half a glass of water. The waiter was good and promptly swapped it out. My bouillabaisse was sadly over spiced too. Perhaps this is a once off experience, but we won't be back."

"The restaurant looked very nice, even though we had a reservation we were not able to get the seating that we requested. The waiter was very slow and not to professional even after we got a second waiter the service improved a little but not much more. We were celebrating my daughters birthday, but the service turned that special occasion into a nightmare. After requesting the manager things did not improve. I don't know how much training your managers have but the manager we spoke with needs more training. The whole experience with the staff was VERY unprofessional."

"This is good restaurant if your in the neighborhood and what something besides fast food. The prices can be a little pricey for the whole family, they have a good menu selection for kids and an extensive wine list for 21+."

"We had a large party for. Retirement celebration. The staff was very friendly but we did have to wait a long time for our food to arrive. Also, our guest of honor's dinner arrived several minutes after everyone else's. we had to ask our waiting about he status of the entree. In addition, we had two people who ordered meat as a part of their entrees, and neither one was cooked as ordered. one was sent back as it was overcooked. the manager came by and politely asked what the problem was. He had another steak sent to the table. That was appreciated but the replacement steak was undercooked. We also had to wait several minutes (approximately 20) to complete a wine order. I think the restaurant may do better with smaller parties of 4 or less."

"This was the perfect spot for a Mother's Day away from home, and it all went perfectly. Right from the start, the greeters at the desk were smiling and helpful and sat us immediately. We had a great waiter, TJ, and he was helpful and took care of everything. I like that someone asked if we wanted lemon slices for the water. We did, and she brought us a bowl in a few seconds. The menu was super, lots of good choices. TJ did a good job of explaining everything, and because of that I ordered one of the specials. We all enjoyed our meals, and the desserts were great. I got the walnut apple pie with cinnamon ice cream-very tasty. Then the plate of chocolate truffles for my wife...perfect way to end a great meal and a great time!"

"I just want to say that I experienced great customer service at McCormick & Schmick. I believe my waitress' name was Amber, but I am not sure. But everyone from the hostess, to the waitress, and even other service personnel who was not assigned to my table, were excellent and friendly. I was proud to take my mother there for Mother's Day."

"The food is wonderful, as is the service. Unfortunately, the restaurant always seems to have a hard time with the special instructions I put on the reservation, such as a menu with my girlfriend's name, or the special flower that they offer and I agree to get. They usually make it right, but I have to ask. Also, they lost our Landry's card on one occasion. Why do we keep coming back? The food and the service."

"What made this experience truly forgettable was the almost 45 minute wait myself and my family had to endure on Mother's Day, even though I made reservations for our dinner 7 days prior. The only thing keeping this review from being terrible was the decent service we received from our waiter."

"We had the crab soup, seared tuna, and seared scallops. All were well prepared, well presented, and delicious. Its not cheap, but nice for a special occasion.
Was disappointed that we we put at a small table partially blocked by a column despite there being many available tables. That greatly hampered our overall enjoyment of our time there."

"Although the wine list was very extensive, the mid-line selections were rather limited. Every choice we selected was out of stock. The service was very slow and when our party of 10 was finally served, one person did not receive their entre at all. A reminder to the attendant triggered a meal; however, it was not what was ordered so back to square one we went. Out of politeness, others in our party waited for the last meal to arrive - an additional 20 minutes later - which made for all but one entre to be cold. When I was finally able to get the bill it was wrong as it included the charge for 11 entre's when only 10 meals were ordered. What should have taken probably 1.5 hours in total took 2.5."

"This wasn't our first time dining at M&S, but we took my mother there for a pre-theater mother's day dinner. We had special needs for our group and the staff was very attentive and accomodating; we got there early and barely had to wait for a table. The toasted coconut shrimp appetizer was amazing with its orange marmalade. The red snapper was fresh although a little dry on the outside, but still delicious and went well with its bed of carrots, broccoli and mashed potatoes, lemon butter on the side. The creme brulee is served cold, and the caramelized top wasn't too thick, with fresh berries on the side. Overall, food comes in large portions and no one left unsatisfied -- would definitely recommend going again."

"The place was out of draft beer. The first two selections of bottled beer our group selected, we were then later told they also were out of. The server said the truck hadn't come in, but then why didn't he say that to begin with? Server attentiveness was less than average and the cost of the food far exceeded either its portion size or preperation. The seafood selections were less gratifying than any other local seafood restauraunt I have been to in DC."

"We've eaten at this McCormick at Schmick's many times over the past 5-6 years. It's been our favorite M&S, but on Saturday night we had an exceptionally mediocre experience at this restaurant. I don't know if this is a result of a switch to Landry's ownership, or what:
1. Waiter was poor. He initially pushed us on ordering bottled water ($) as soon as we sat down, then pushed us to order an appetizer immediately.But the appetizer didn't show for 20 minutes, after a salad we subsequently ordered, and was a poor excuse for blue crab dip - tiny and mostly cream cheese.
2. Our entrees -- tilapia and trout -- looked good but tasted poorly, as though the fish was old or previously frozen. Very disappointing. We won't be coming back."

"I've never had a bad meal at any of the McCormick & Schmick's. One of the things I like about the restaurant is the varied
table options which include private booths-some of them with curtains. The low noise level makes this my go-to place for dinners with lots of conversation.

"This was our fourth time, and we brought a friend because we thought we could rely on consistently good service. This time, several things went wrong.
I asked for a quiet booth. They had them available, but sat me in the noisy center.
We hardly saw our waiter. We needed a few extra minutes to look at the menu, but he took around 15 minutes before returning, and we didn't see him to flag him down.
When he brought my food, he brought my wrong entree and never brought the side that I'd ordered. He disappeared around 30 minutes until dessert, so I couldn't correct his mistake. He left the dessert menu and disappeared again. The bill included my correct (and more expensive) order. When I sent him back to correct it, he took even more"

"The food was overpriced. Paid $38.00 for a steak that looked about 2 oz, with 3 broccoli spears, and 3 small shrimp. The server got the drink orders wrong, charged us for an extra soup we didn't order, forgot to enter our dessert order, we waited an additional 45 min for the dessert and he then forgot about our coffee. The food runner was wandering around the restaurant trying to figure out where to deliver our plates. I knew it was our order and had to tell him. We were there for a family birthday dinner and were very disappointed. Even if the server is busy, there is no excuse for this. I thought we were at a "higher end" restaurant. Sadly, we were still hungry when we got home (2 1/2 hours later) after paying $189.00 total!"

"Tithe restaraunt is beautiful the food is also wonderful with a nice variety of specialty cocktails but the wait staff is less than friendly and helpful my date and I definitely got the impression that we were there too late and the staff very loudly commented that they were ready to close up shop and go home. The waitress also made a few mistakes on the order but she was apologetic and seemed sincere."

"This has been a favorite of my wife and mine for some time. I enjoy ordering something different on the menu each time I visit.
This time my wife ordered the blue crab dip appetizer, which was GREAT. I ordered the seared tuna, which unfortunately turned out to be seared escolar or something else equally unpleasant the next day. I expect something like this at the local all-you-can eat sushi bar, not McCormick & Schmick's."

"Staff was friendly, & pleasant . Happy hour at bar was nice & great prices. our table server was pleasant but not really on top of things. Had to remind her to bring my ice tea on her 2nd time around. We waited a long time between appetizer & entrée ,and when it arrived it was lukewarm at best..I think she forgot about us really. Food was adequate., nothing outstanding. My salmon was a bit fishy... Disappointed."

"Food was cooked perfectly. Waiter seemed a bit lost at times. Pace of service was a bit too deliberate for a post-work dinner of business travelers. (We needed "get us fed" pace, not "romantic date" pace.) One of my colleagues ordered the spring salad from the daily specials menu but got a standard green salad from the regular menu.
New York Steak was great, chicken parm was very good. Creamed spinich was spectacular. Cheddar mashed potatoes were OK but nothing particularly special.
Overall positive experience."

"it was the worst experience of the vacation. the service was absolutely terrible. they came back to the table a half hour after putting our order in telling us one of our entrees was no longer available. we waited over an hour and a half for main course and it still did not come. at that point after speaking to the manager we got up and left. I would not recommend this restaurant anyone"

"This was our special night out for my family on our trip to DC. The menu was okay, would have liked more steak choices. The ambience was fine. The noise was a little robust which I would have preferred somewhat lower. The food was very good and the service was very good."

"I thought the food was excellent but the service was really lacking. The Host did not bring enough menus, rather simple thing and did not seem to be interested in bringing more. Our waiter was very good and very attentive but did not notice that there were enough forks, plates, knives, etc. These are small things that tell me that the serving staff needs help here."

"My swordfish did not taste right. I sent it back and asked them to cook it more - thought that was the reason; I tried it again and then left it. The server, though attentive, did NOTHING when I told her it did not taste right. In addition, the brocolini was cold. I've been to this location many times and this was very disappointing."

"M&S is a two-star restaurant pretending to be a four-star. The service was awful - the waitress completely ignored when glasses stood empty, the place settings were incomplete, and I actually heard two of the waitstaff arguing in the back (granted, my table was near the kitchen).
I had the almond-crusted trout, which tasted as though it had been frozen and defrosted. The almond crust was oily. I ordered the mashed potatoes as the side and got the butternut squash instead, but they then brought a massive dish of mashed potatoes to correct their mistake. They were OK.
All in all, this was a $150 dollar "experience" that wasn't worth half that. Never again."

"If you want Happy Hour deals, McCormick & Schmick's is the place to go. From 4-7pm, they have great food & drinks specials, however, you get what you pay for. Great prices special draw a crowd, so service is reduced to above average, because they were busy. However, I imagine if they are always busy during these hours, they should increase the staff. However, once 7pm rolls around, the bar crowd is reduced by more than half. What really suffers is the food. From our group, two of us order the Happy Hour hamburger, priced at 3.95. I order mine medium & she order hers medium rare. Mine came back well done & hers (medium rare) was also lacking any pink.
Overall, the vibrant bar scene & the company I kept outweighed these negatives."

"Upon arrival, we were not relocated when we mentioned that we do not like to be sitting at the table right next to the door. Staff did not greet my husband politely (he arrived earlier than me and my rather old parents). Food was very average quality. One of dessert dishes - mixed berries with Grand Marnier and whipped cream seem to have contained no traces of Grand Marnier. The waiter explained that the liqueur had been mixed in with the cream (and she saw it done herself). However, the color and flavor of the sauce seem to indicate otherwise. We were unhappy with that explanation (and were offered no remedy)."
