"Wonderful lobster mac n cheese! There were 5 of us and we ordered a wide range of small plates, entrees and desserts. The small plates were actually quite large and extremely flavorful. The shrimp with anchovy aioli was very good and the warm salad very flavorful. The goat cheese gnocchi was excellent with just enough spice but not overwhelming. The rack of lamb was tender. We are crab cake snobs so the crabcakes were good but not the highlight although the diced sweet potatoes were a great accompaniment. Our second time there and we will return. Noise level rises as the room fills but you can still hold a conversation without screaming across the table.
The service was very good and our waiter joined with our insanity!"

"This hidden gem is one of my favorite spots for a nice quiet dinner. The chef has just the right touch when it comes to blending flavors. Case in point: the gyoza are incredible, as is roasted rainbow trout. The crab cakes are packed with huge pieces of fresh crab that have enough flavor so little embellishment is required.
It's not a vibrant bar scene. If you want that, head to 14th St. If you want to hold a conversation over a tasty meal, come to Nage."

"Nags is attached tote Marriott Courtyard, so the entry and space is hotelish. The food and service belie the location. Waitstaff was friendly, engaged and knowledgable. The wine list is small but complete. The leek and potato soup was outstanding. The homemade meatloaf was succulent and flavorful and the lamb shank was served with exactly the right vegetables and finished with a youghert/cucumber sauce. We will be back."

"Nage is a block from my office so I tend to eat here quite often, especially for business. The food is consistently interesting and tasty (I was only disappointed once that I recall and it may have been simply my own taste). What I wonder is if Nage uses locally sourced and/or organic ingredients. That would be the next step for this wonderful gem of an eatery. PS: noise levels and ambiance are perfect for business lunches."

"My boyfriend and I went on a Sunday night around 8pm, and there were quite a few people there, mostly couples and businessmen. It was quiet and romantic, and the booths were very comfortable. The menu was small (only one page) but the options looked very appealing. I only rated a "fair" on service because although the waitress was nice and attentive, she had to come back to the table TWICE to tell me that what I had just ordered was out, and I had to pick something else. The food was great, but when it is your third choice of entree, it's a bit annoying. There should be more communication between the kitchen and the servers, especially when the menu only has about 8 entrees total, and tell customers before they choose what is out."

"I took my wife to Nage for Valentine's day. The ambiance is great and the service was top notch. However, the food was fair. This was across the board for both my wife's dish and my own. I was surprised and hesitant to return."

"Our 4th time eating at Nage. Don't be turned off by the fact that it is part of a Courtyard Marriott, the food and service are excellent. The prices are about 10-15% too high, but not crazy compared to other downtown places."

"With a location off the lobby of a hotel, you can easily underestimate Nage. Don't let the wrapping fool you. The Wild Mushroom Baklava appetizer is absolutely incredible!"

"We really enjoyed the food at Nage. The burger and truffle oil fries were amazing. And I absolutely LOVED the wild mushroom baklava. I did have a bit of an issue with the service. Although our waitress was very nice, she didn't check on us much. We waited for refills for a while. Only after she got our food (which took nearly 30 min to come out) was I able to get another glass of water. Also, the dessert I was given was meant for another table who sent it back. I saw her and another server walk back into the kitchen with it and when she remembered I ordered the same thing I heard her say "oh, don't get rid of that". It was even more obvious that the plate was sitting out because the ice cream was halfway melted."

"It was my second visit but first time with the new chef. I brought my children (who enjoy trying new places and appreciate good cuisine) and was excited to let them try the restaurant. My first visit was very good but I expected even better quality after reading Tom Sietsema's review. It was the last day of restaurant week and the food we ate was okay. The short ribs had to be cut with a knife and not fall off the bone. Also, the portions were rather small and we all left very unsatisfied.
With all the other options in the city, I will not be returning nor recommending Nage."

"We stopped at Nage on the way to a performance at Studio Theatre, and we were delighted! As many of the Open Table reviewers have pointed out, the seafood at Nage was particularly well done. The food was tasty and well-presented, with inventive but not-too-cute accompaniments. There were lots of good vegetarian options, light and healthy choices, and yummy desserts. All in all, it was a good experience that we hope to repeat often!"

"Nage is a lovely restaurant with a very pleasant decor. The menu offers appealing meat, seafood and vegetarian entrees. I enjoyed the squid appetizer. Two dining members got the chicken entree and it was like two different people cooked each one. One was nicely flavored and aromatic while the other was rather bland. I was told that the veggie burger was excellent. The steak frites were cooked to perfection. One of our party received his food long after everyone else throughout the entire dinner."

"I went to Nage last week for restaurant week. We were seated promptly but after that, the service went downhill. Our apps came out in a sufficient amount of time but other items such as salt and pepper were never brought to the table as requested. The entree course didn't come out for about 45 minutes after we had eaten our apps. When I asked the server about this, she noted that "The kitchen is moving as fast as we can. Since it is restaurant week, everyone is ordering three courses." Um, yeah. It's a restaurant. People order food at these places. Her response was uncalled for and unapologetic. I never miss restaurant week and this is by far the worst service I have had. We had to get our dessert to go."

"I went to Nage for Restaurant Week but since I arrived early also had happy hour at the bar. First, this restaurant is connected to a Courtyard Marriott (which we did not realize when making the reservation). As a rule, I do not like hotel restaurants but this had gotten good reviews.
HH: The deals are great and cheap but my cocktail (the William Tell) was sloppily made and my frites came out with ketchup which the bartender spilled and then did not wipe up or offer me a new container. It was odd. The William Tell was too sweet or too syrupy or too something.
Dinner: The service was excellent. She was attentive but not overly attentive. My wine was also nice and crisp and chilled. I ordered the mushroom bakalava for an appeti"
