"We went to the location at 901 F Street this past Friday night, to eat a nice dinner before going to see Game 5 of the 1st round playoff series between the Caps and Rangers. The wait staff was very attentive, the food was excellent, and they got us out in time to see the first puck drop. All in all, a very pleasant and tasty dining experience."

"As customary at this chain, good quality seafood. Service was a bit amiss -- appetizer was completely forgotten, then arrived when we had told them to forget it, because our entrees had arrived. Staff very attentive after that -- but to no useful purpose."

"Apparently there was a staff shortage so the few guests were seated in the booths at the periphery of the dining room; middle area was completely empty. Server had to make my dinner guest's martini; apparently no barman to do it. She tried but the first attempt was not acceptable. Food was only OK; potatoes were dehydrated and old tasting. Time that it took to get food was LONG considering the limited number of patrons. Dessert portion size was small- hardly enough to share."

"Service was spotty and food took 45 minutes to prepare in a restaurant that was at best 40% full. When I received my side of "lump" crab meat, it was a messy mush and looked nothing like lump crab meat. I asked one of the floor managers to come over so that I could express my concern and the look of disdain of having to deal with me was ever present on her face. The crab was returned to the kitchen, but all they did was heat it up and try to add a larger piece or two to it. I doubt that I will return again as this is the third opportunity I have given them and three strikes have been called."

"Wanted to pick up a bite prior to the Caps game since it is about a block and a half to Verizon Center. The dining room was almost empty, but the bar area was an absolute zoo. This is because drink specials are only good at the bar. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I had the Seafood Trio (King Salmon, Chilean Sea Bass and Shrimp)and the wife had Swordfish Casino (well cooked piece of Swordfish and Spinach w/bacon). All the pieces of fish were perfectly cooked and tasted very good. The restaurant did get quite loud with all the bar patrons, but since we weren't trying to have a romantic dinner it was fine. Good food, a little pricey, but you are in downtown DC."

"Food was awful. The salmon over pasta...BLand. The trout with a corn relish my friend had tasted like a damp mop. Our group consisted of 7 no one in the party enjoyed the food. It was ok and for those prices ok is not good enough. Our server on the otherhand was awesome and tried to make the best of out the bad food."

"I have an dcontinue to find McCormick and Schmick's, a great place to eat. I will say that there were two things that really made this dining experience less than good or great: 1) Our server was not particularly attentive, and it took what we felt to be an excessive amount of time for our entrees to come out; 2) When the entrees did come out, my wife's was not the correct order, and we had to wait for her's to arrive some 10 min later. I was generally disappointed as the food was at its typical high quality, the atmosphere was good, and otherwise a good experiance. Given its proximity to the Verizon Center (this meal was for a Birthday before a Caps game) we are likely to dine here again. I hope it is a better experience."

"My husband ordered his filet medium well. Rather than butterfly the steak, they tried just to "cook" it done. It was on the dry side.On the positive side, I had mentioned it was my husband's birthday dinner & our menus had "Happy Birthday Carl" printed on them. That was a nice touch."

"I was very disappointed with my experience at this location. I was in a party of 4 and I had made a reservation several days before our visit. We were seated right next to the kitchen and the servicing station. The restaurant was barely half full when we arrived and this is where we get seated when I had noted that we were all celebrating birthdays. Next, it took our server almost 10 minutes before we were greeted. She apologized for the delay, but the delays continued. Because of the sub-par service, we all ordered something that we already knew we liked and had ordered on other occasions. One of the guys ordered fish and chips. The coleslaw was warm and the fish bland. Skipped dessert as we had no time left and a concert to go to."

"First and last time at a McCormick. The service was slow albeit apologetic. It took 20 minutes to get drinks after being seated. The coast to coast tuna was dry and the portion size of the covers was criminally small for the price. Three small scallops for nearly $30 is unconscionable especially if those scallops were not cleaned well and had bits of sand with every bite. The pecan pie we ordered never came but still appeared on the bill. Skip it."

"This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in more than 30 years in Washington. Despite the fact I request a quiet area four days in advance for my party of six, we were placed in the middle of a noisy room making it impossible to carry on a conversation. And the hostess who sat us was less than interested in helping. The waiter who took our drink order failed to take orders from each member of our party. Water was not served to everyone. Bread was not served until it was specifically requested. Several of us requested lemon and two tiny pieces were proved. Food was very mediocre. Coffee was cold. I have eaten in this chain before, but this was a big disappointment."

"One rally big mistake, the kitchen prepared the wrong dish for my Mother. She is a very timid person so when our server asked her if she wanted to replace it with what she'd ordered she said 'no'.
I felt so bad. This was our only special seafood dinner on the East Coast before returning to Colorado. She is elderly so this was to be her last trip. She had anticipated this seafood dinner since she booked her flight months ago. She had taken several minutes to pick what was just right for her memories/trip. Then the kitchen prepared the Stuffed Shrimp instead of the Salmon she wanted.
She was disappointed I could tell. Our server was great, wonderful seating/ambience/fast & responsive. We should have been more assertive I know."

"We have been to many different McCormick and Schmick's and this one was just as good as the others. I had the almond crusted trout and my husband had the shrimp scampi. Both were excellent. This is a very busy restaurant, but the staff was up to the challenge. If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend this restaurant"

"Overall service was a little off - table only half set, leftover kids' menus on the floor, glass of wine took nearly 15 min (and a reminder that the empty glass on the table should have some wine), food slow to come out and plating was obviously rushed. The waiter himself was very nice and had a great smile/personality.
The clam chowder was excellent as were the salads. The entrees - Kobe style burger, rockfish and scallops were solid choices for entrees."

"Don't go there without reservation even if they have plenty open tables, I sat in the first come first serve section and made a reservation for 15 minutes later, the Hostess had just told me that they had a 2hr wait. Should not have ate there but my teenage daughter picked it over all the restaurants we saw in DC. The food was adequate at best, and felt as if they didn't want my business and was as if I wasn't good enough for them. The server was very nice however and very helpful. Cost around 100.00 for us to eat and like I said it was ok but have had better."

"I stopped going to this restraunt because the food was not eye opening and i felt as if I could have gone to the frozen food section. With this fairly new menu and the changes that have been made I had a great experience. My food was absolutely delicious. The food did not taste like it was just knucked and brought to the table, it was fresh and flavorful. The cucumber mint martini...i can't stop thinking about it. The manager came over to check on how or food and experience was she made us feel good and validate the change"

"I want to love this place; food is always terrific and unquestionably superior. The terrible customer service (especially from hostess) continues to baffle me; I am a regular and spent over $2,000 at M&S last year. What does it take to receive decent service? This place could benefit from a customer relations skills training."

"We came in with 12 on a last minute res after sightseeing in DC. We waited an hour before having apps. Water was scarce. First drinks were ok but opportunity to sell more was lost. The place was half to just more than half full. No management seen in the floor, for sure didn't stop by us. And we spent $400. Fool ok, service really bad, I had higher hopes."

"This was perhaps my most disappointing visit to any McCormick location. My good friend ordered a medium steak that was easily well done. My scallop dish was indeed flavorful, but I feel three scallops is light. My wife's dish, however, was good."

"The food was good, but I was surprised that an Entree did not come with a salad and the side choices were limited. I've never heard of a Entree without a salad. The waiter had a very dry disposition, and was not interacting with us at all. The waiter did not deserve a tip, but he made it a point of taking our check back, and adding a tip for service that I thought didn't deserve a tip."

"We did not have a positive experience at the F Street location. We were stuck in traffic and called to change the reservation time to 7:30pm. We arrived at 7:43 and were told they gave away our table since our reservation was at 7pm. We told her we called and she said "we were still 13 minutes late, so she would have to see if they had a table". Very rude and unaccommodating. This was a special Mother/Daughter outing to include a concert and I was completly take aback by the hostess attitude. I would not recommend to my business assocaiates, nor my friends. I also left a review on their website. Our server was good, food was good, but I can't say the experience was one I will want to remember.

"Waitress was obviously new and unsure of herself. We saw very little of her. My wife had the special swordfish with lump crab and the crab was burnt so most if if was not edible. No one came to check on us while we were still eating so never had the opportunity to request a "fix". Took long time to get food and later the dessert, a limp piece of pecan pie. Certainly not noteworthy. Won't bother with dessert at McCormick again."
