"I had the lobster cobb salad, and it was great. It is so large that I have to take some of it home whenever I order it. The waitress was new, and when I asked for extra lemon for my tea, she kept bringing just one tiny wedge. (Much smaller than I've ever seen them cut the lemons before). The sour dough bread was wonderful, as always."

"We spent almost $300 for the 4 of us and generally really enjoyed our food. My husband's steak was a disappointment. He didn't feel it was worth the cost. He described it as "too chewy". We've eaten at M & S many times so this was actually a first. We'll be back but may not order steak again."

"We made reservations for an early dinner with Mom. We checked in with the host and they acknowledged us; then, somehow they dropped our reservation; so we waited behind some "walk in" customers for 10 minutes or so. The food was very good, but the service was spotty at best -- with requests taking a long time to be delivered, wine we wanted not available, lots of sell-up activity from our waiter. A nice guy, but there was something wierd going on. We spent a lot of time talking about what he wanted to bring us and less time getting what we ordered. Maybe it was just too busy for mother's day, but we probably won't go back anytime soon."

"M & S Grill had been an excellent independently held local Oregon restaurant. Now it has been bought by a corporation.
I like the ambience , it is wood and stained glass and nice big booths. However the food has become disappointing.
I ordered the Almond crusted trout- the pieces of almonds were, too thick, big and chewy. And I only received 1/2 the trout - very ungenerous for $20- There was barely any fish.
Then we splurged for dessert: Marion berry pie, how we could go wrong? The crust was white, uncooked like frozen cardboard pie.
We should have sent it back but the ice cream on top was delicious.
This was supposed to be a treat for a birthday.
Out waiter was very attentive and kind."

"We always know that we will get great tasting food at M&S... The X factor is the seating and the wait staff. We got a booth which was great for the four of us. The apps and main dishes were great. The waiter - Ben - was very average and didn't add to our experience like staff in the past. For dessert we got a big piece of chocolate cake that was very dry. Ben did subtract that from the tab and overall we were pleased, however when we go, we are usually ecstatic. We will be back."

"Not as good as they were prior to Landry's ownership. Menu - fewer fresh seafood offerings. Wine - we ordered 2 bottles of the wine and they were out of both. Had to pick second choices. Oregon is the base for Pinot Noir and they do not offer any Oregon Pinot by the glass. Food - Had Alaska razor clams and they tasted like they had been in the fridge a few days too long. I suggest you go to Jake's instead."

"I was very disappointed with the food (low quality, high priced, farm fish not wild) and the service was extremely slow. Took a very long to get anything. Side dishes were forgotten, no steak knife for the Top Sirloin, etc.
When I joked about feeling 'forgotten' with waiter...he just shrugged.

"M&S Grill is a vibrant neighborhood eatery known for its happy hour. They also have good meals. The lobster bisque was perfectly seasoned with plenty of lobster, their spring salad with strawberries was a tasty alternative to your every-day salad. Their fresh fish with risotto was very tasty and filling. This is a great place for good seafood and their menu now contains a special lunch menu. Very enjoyable."

"Good food. The lobster cobb salad is enough for two meals, easily. I think the waiter is new, and a little rough around the edges yet. Even though we were early in the dining time, he didn't come back to check on us enough, leaving glasses unfilled. We saw him standing around, greeting people since he had "nothing to do" during the time our glasses were empty."

"M & S is a great place to go for a great dinner and a good time. Their staff are very friendly and they keep their establishment very clean. I like to go with a group of friends on the weekend or when I want to take my wife out on a date. We love going on St. Patrick's day because of the opportunity to have a great dinner and listen to the live music (bagpipes). I recommend M & S to anyone interested in great food and service."

"The new things on the spring menu were very good, at least the ones we tried. The size of the chunks of crab in the crab/shrimp spring rolls was awesome. The wait person needs to be better trained. She never did bring our bread (a great reason to go to M & S Grill is the bread). She seemed reluctant to refill ice tea glasses. She was slow, and she had to go back into our records to put on the points for dining. It took us over two hours for lunch."

"M&S Grill was at one time my favorite nearby seafood restaurant. With the change in ownership there has also been a change in the quality of the food. Meals are less creative, quality and preparation are inconsistent. On our last visit (it may quite literally be our "last" visit) the clam chowder and mashed potatoes were both luke warm. Unfortunately, this sort of experience has become the norm. I'm quite sad to have to give this review as I really want this establishment to be successful."

"Service was so slow, we didn't even order dinner for about an hour. No one checked on us after appetizers. Water was never filled. Waiter looked at our appetizers and said "everything looks good?" But one of them was the wrong appetizer. Food was cold and really not very good other than the Ahi Tuna. That was the best dish but unfortunately only one of us got that."

"Our waiter was horrible, not friendly, didn't have any recommendations. He could only handle one table at a time. Never asked for beverage refills or dessert. The shrimp tastes "fishy" and felt it was overpriced for what we got."

"Went for my husband and MIL birthday celebration. It was expensive for 5 of us (2 teenagers), but worth it for a once a year treat. Our service was good, friendly.
I had the grilled trout - it didn't have a lot of flavor; I am used to fresh from the river trout which is much more flavorful. It was well cooked, just not as flavorful as I am used to (grilled with bacon inside adds a lot of flavor).
The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was great! I could definitely make a lunch meal of that and a salad."

"McCormick's & Schmick's restaurants have consistently excellent food and service. For us, this Valentine's Day visit was great - as we have come to expect from M&S.
Note: Parking nearby can be difficult. Be prepared to take advantage of the valet parking, or leave yourself time to find parking and walk a bit."

"We were there on Valentine's Day, so we expected some delays, but we had to wait long beyond the time for our reservation, and they already were out of Trout, which we had hoped to order. The server, Lee, was fabulous, but the background music was horrible. Grating, loud, unpleasant, disturbing -- I can't think of enough negative adjectives. We complained to two people, both of whom agreed with us but said there was nothing they could do about it. We have enjoyed experiences at other McCormick and Schmick locations, but will not be going back to this one."

"The only criticism I have was that my salmon was undercooked and to the waiter's credit he did offer to take it back and have it put back on the grill. But, I declined since I was already pretty full of salad, potatoes and veggies by the time that I was able to let him know about it."

"The Shrimp Kisses as a starter dish was fabulous. They were medium shrimp, butterflied open and stuffed with cheese (pepper jack?) then wrapped w/bacon, and deep fried. Oh yum. We asked for a quiet table and received a wonderfully private booth which allowed some great conversation. The waiter was very attentive without being too invasive. Great experience; savory well-prepared fresh food."

"Thank you for this opportunity.
My reservation and specialized menu experience were great. I requested a specific server but was given a different server when we arrived. I corrested that by asking the Host, stating that I had requested the specific server.
The table we were seated at was unstable. We requested & were moved to a table, same size, but was somewhat unstable as well. I am guessing these tables were put out for the Valentines Day to maximize space. Good idea in theory, not so good if they are unstable as that is a memory I have taken away from the experience.
I signed up for the Landry Club offered by our Server. I have used my card in a different place and plan to use it in Hawaii on vacation."
