"I have been to Cienega a few times and I am never disappointed! I have heard re same feedback from those to whom I have recommended it. A definite find and a keeper in New Rochelle."

"Very hard to find this small little restaurant in New Rochelle as it is located on the ground floor of I think its a residential condo's. The positives of the place is the food is fantastic and very eclectic. My companion who is from Brazil raved about the food and the drinks that reminded her of home. The down side and this the space they are in. I have read that the owners are also architects- which would explain why they thought the space was perfect. and trust me it is not. Weird shaped- very narrow and while there were 6 other people in the restaurant when we were there it sounded like there were 100.
Great Food but its location is awful. Would not go back unless it was in a new location"

"The food and service here is amazing. I usually get take out but for Mother's Day the family ventured into Cienega. They're patient and accommodating to the children in the party. The space is a bit tight so you're on top of the other guest a bit, but it doesn't matter b/c everyone is exchanging stories about their food. It is a bit pricey compared to other places in the area, but you ignore that once you have the food.
My one negative critique is about the take-out service. While the food is always amazing and delivery is quick, the take out is notoriously wrong. I am not sure if the misstep is with the person - Stephanie (?) who processes the orders or the kitchen staff. But at these prices, they should be more careful."

"My husband and I were in the mood for a fusion of some kind. We both love good food, and this place definitely fulfilled our desire for just that! I had the tuna prepared medium with sesame seeds on the outside. Pink Himalayan rice. Delicious! My husband ordered the half chicken, marinated with a Peruvian spice blend , mashed potatoes, and sautéed mushrooms. We loved it all!!!"

"The decor is nice and it has a good vibe, but the food was mediocre and the noise level was so high that we had to pracically yell to hear each other across a small table for two."

"We live about twenty minutes away. I thought this was okay but not as good as Sofrito or Gaucho Grill, and not as authentic as either. Not bad but... we are closer to White Plains than here, and I like the nearby options better"

"Fabulous new addition to the neighborhood. Sleek and modern decor. Delicious Latin American food. Portions are large. Had the empanadas and the meatballs as starters -- yummy! The guacamole was great, but there were too few chips. We asked for more, but didnt get them until they were clearing our dishes. The steak was delicious, especially with the chimmichiri sauce. The side dishes were authentic -- rice and beans and yucca fries (which had a little too much garlic -- tasted it for the rest of the evening. And what could be wrong with sangria! Only issue was with the service, which stared good with the appetizers but was really slow with dinner. Would definitely come back."

"We all sampled each other's dishes and every single one was a unanimous hit. The salmon, the pernil (with an amazing garlic sauce) and the red snapper. I am not usually impressed with sangria but theirs was excellent and not watery, with just small pieces of apple floating on top - not big chunks. The deconstructed key lime pie was nice, but not the highlight of the evening. Nor was the black rice which was just "well-made". (Yes, we got spoiled quickly). Service was professional & friendly. We went for an early dinner so it was quiet. But I could see the narrow room becoming noisy when crowded. Looking forward to coming back on some Thursday evening for the live jazz. Entrance is ON Main St next to the free indoor parking."

"Great food - had the ceviche mixto and the empanada sampler, a side of yellow rice and beans and finished with the chocolate cake - delicious. The service was excellent. The scene was vibrant and lively - what you expect at a latin restaurant."

"Lovely birthday dinner for my husband. Enjoyed the live Thursday music. The food was excellent...we had the small plates-grilled octopus, empanadas sampler, salads, special dessert....and of course,a well-made mojito and some sangria. The cappuccino was a perfect finish."

"Gorgeous restaurant if you like modern design. Delicious and unigue food, so carefully constructed and served that it is art as well. Cienaga is an anomaly anywhere but especially for it's locale.
I've been there for dinner several times and the atmosphere is lively and a little noisy but not abnormally so for any restaurant - good energy. For brunch, it is relaxing and quiet.
Cienaga is a gem!!!"

"I can think of at least 3 things that in my opinion, Cienega does better then anyone. One being the margarita made from freshly squeezed limes. A NYC gem, hiding in New Rochelle."

"We love this place. The decor is fun. I feel like I'm somewhere special, yet I can wear my jeans and feel comfortable. Service is always attentive, prompt and friendly. Mojitos are great (though the sugar cane is missing lately) and food is always delicious. And though I'd not call this place a "kid friendly" restaurant (there's no kid menu, and they certainly don't have crayons for the table), they have always accommodated my picky 10-year-old with a bowl of pasta and butter."

"I live in the area andwWe've been to this sophisticated spot several times and it's always been great. Try to go when they have music, it's terrific. We tried brunch last weekend and it was delicious and a good value. All in all a very special local venue. You'd never guess you were on Boston Post Rd. in New Rochelle once you get inside!"
