"Three of us ate here, and we are all very familiar with Greek food. Uncle Nick's Moussaka - especially the vegetable moussaka - is AWESOME! The Kalamarakia Tiganita was pretty excellent, also. Next time, we are going to try the saganaki-tiri. Several other tables ordered it, and they put on a flaming cheese show when serving."

"Shrimp Santorini was yummy. Greek red wine was excellent. Flaming cheese impressive. Dessert was great. What can I say, I had a great dining experience."

"Very pleasant Greek eatery but nothing particularly special. Ambiance and decor OK, feels a little like a revamped deli -tables very close together. Very attentive and pleasant service from waitstaff and bus-people. Shared a small Greek salad - unusually delicious and not-salty feta cheese. I had mussels in a tomato sauce with more feta - unusual and also tasty. Bottom line - while there are better Greek restaurants, this is nice for a fast pre-theatre meal."

"Always enjoy the excellent Greek food and service at Uncle Nick's. Spinach Pie is one of my favorites. A great place for a bite or dinner before a Ranger game."

"Wanted to give us a poor table and was told all the other empty tables are reserved but when we strongly insisted we had a reservation then he finally gave in and let us sit in the table we wanted. The food was good but the Uncle Nick's on 9th Ave in the 50s is absolutely much better."

"Uncle Nick's was just what I wanted. I had been craving good and authentic Greek cuisine...they nailed it. The restaurant is easily located near several major NYC landmarks. We ate on a quiet Sunday at noon, and the place was perfect for catching up with friends. The food and service were flawless and even enjoyed some easy drinking Greek wine. I will return!!!"

Review 10 for Uncle Nick's Greek Cuisine - Chelsea
"Great for a place to go before going to madison square garden. We told them we were going to a hockey game and they told us not to order red snapper because it took 25 mins to cook. Appreciated that advice. Great healthy alternative and great food near the garden."

Review 11 for Uncle Nick's Greek Cuisine - Chelsea
"I had the chicken kebab, which was delicious. There were no free refills on the soda...I wasn't thrilled abot that and once our food arrived, we never saw our waiter again. But the food was very good and no one bothered us when we sat and chatted for a while after eating."

Review 12 for Uncle Nick's Greek Cuisine - Chelsea
"There are few decent restaurants in the area south of Penn Station, so I usually have dinner here when I have family coming in on the train from New Jersey. That said, this place could try a bit harder. The food isn't bad, but I find it to be a uninspired, and I really wish they would make more of their staple items in-house. For example, when I passed by the kitchen, I saw that they had a door propped open with a large can of stuffed grape leaves — the very same that they were selling for around $8 a plate. If you want better, more authentic Greek food in New York, take a ride on the subway to Astoria. But if you aren't too concerned about authenticity and just need a place to meet people for dinner near the train, you could do worse."

Review 14 for Uncle Nick's Greek Cuisine - Chelsea
"The owner/manager(?) in-charge was extremely welcoming. He was happy to discuss the history/lore behind Retsina with us. We were there for a small, relaxed birthday celebration and, though we didn't actually specify that, we were nevertheless treated to dessert on the house. By the way, come hungry - the dinner portions are very generous."

Review 16 for Uncle Nick's Greek Cuisine - Chelsea
"I read all of the reviews before trying this place and everyone seemed to have a problem with the service. I always assume people are just too critical but in this case, I have to agree. This was the worst service I have ever received in any restaurant. Fortunately, the food was good so the night wasn't a total waste."
