"We were sadly disappointed with this restaurant . The ceviche was bland, my husband's chicken mole tasteless and my fajatas well they heat the pan and then put your Ingredients into the pan and serve it to you. You have little pots of oil flying all over the place and have to move not to get a burn. By the time the pan cools down, the vegetables stil were very raw (and I like raw vegetables) and the meat (filet migno) cooked tasteless. It I wanted to cook my own meal I would have stayed home and there was no warning from the server that it was served that way. It ended up being overlooked meat with raw vegetables without and distiniictive favors. All in all the whole experience was flat."

"I went here with high expectations, however, they weren't fulfilled. First, the service here was fantastic. I had two people waiting on me and they were attentive and wonderful. I ordered the tortilla soup, which I found bland and sweet. There's a spice they use that I didn't like. The tortilla strips were too greasy.
The beef taco salad was a bed of lettuce with some beef strips on top...along with guacamole, salsa and sour cream. The beef was excellent. The lettuce had this fishy flavor to it. They said the dressing was made of white wine and garlic. I wish I had known that or at least given an option.
I was still hungry and ordered the beef burrito, which was very good.
I'll go back...just need to be careful as to what I order."

"We were greeted and seated ~ with a warm welcome. BOTH the young man and lady were very professional and attentive.
The food was delicious. We opted for some appetizers to share and each were so fresh. We had the fish tacos, stuffed peppers and guacamole. Definitely will go back."

"The food was very substandard Mexican fare (even the chips were stale) and shockingly overpriced. This was very disappointing as we had hoped to find a great Mexican restaurant closer to home. The only redeeming feature was the excellent service, but it wasn't enough to overcome the bad food."

"This is not your typical Mexican restaurant that is heavy on the beans and rice! The food here is light, freshly made and authentic! Loved the margaritas! Very tasty food with just the right quantity. Excellent service! Will definitely return!"

"Looking for some good Mexican food during a trip to Palm Springs and this fit the bill. I had the Carnitas Michoacanas and it was very tasty...the pork was fork tender. The other diners in my group also enjoyed their meals, too. And the margargitas were very delicious, too. The decor was definitely better than the average "taco shop", too."

"The food was lovely with delicious margaritas, shrimp dishes and soup. The ambiance was also nice with a good guitar player. I had read about the outstanding service in the other reviews, so maybe I was expecting more than I should have expected, but our waiter ignored us almost completely and spent a lot of time chatting up the cute hostess instead. We might have had a second drink or dessert, but by the time he came over, we were ready to leave. Otherwise, we were happy with the food and ambiance."

"As soon as we hit the ground in Palm Desert, I opened my Open Table app to find a good place for dinner. Jackpot!! Everything about Guillermo's was fantastic. Undoubtedly, the best margarita I've ever had (the Cadillac)!! And I've had a lot of margaritas! Every bite was delicious and our waiter was very helpful in recommending dishes. I only wish we could've worked in another dinner before coming home! Go early to walk El Paseo!"

"As always, this family owned restaurant makes any visit exceptional. Attention to the food and your happiness is what they do best. The super ambiance and live guitar music are special too. I think their shrimp dishes are the best. But the carnitas is especially good as well. Very unique family recipes are the trick ... everyone we take to this restaurant loves it."

"Guillermo's was recommended to us by a friend and are expectations were more than exceeded. Service was outstanding - it is hard to describe when the chemistry is just clicks - friendly, entertaining and the recommendations are spot on. Margaritas - outstanding. There were several shrimp dishes that sounded delicious so I asked for some help. She didn't hesitate and recommended the house speciality of shrimp wrapped in bacon. I followed her recommendation but what I recieved far surpassed what I expected - a dozen plus shrimp wrapped in a pinwheel and held together with bacon. The bacon kept the shrimp from being over cooked. Add all the sauces, salsas or whatever to it - unbelieveable!"

"Different spin on Mexican food - very unusual dishes, all tasty! As a vegetarian, my only complaint is that there is not more of a variety in the vegetarian options. Guillermo (Bill) stopped by the table and mentioned there were more veggie friendly items in the past, but he had to take them off the menu as no one ordered. I can understand that, but maybe rotating different ones between seasons could be done to add some variety to the vegetarian menu."

"6 of us met for dinner. The pitcher of marg's was good, $60. Some confusion on what sides came with what dishes. One person ordered tacos.
They had shrimp, beef, chicken. He asked for 2 chicken and 1 shrimp. Was told they weren't served in that combination. Fajitas (shrimp) were decent. Only 3 corn tortillas, small amount of beans and guacamole, no rice.
Many guests seemed to know the staff and gave them hugs but our service was so so. Fine, not remarkable."
