McCormick's Fish House & Bar is Seattle's classic seafood restaurant, reminiscent of traditional fish houses on the East Coast and San Francisco, and a Seattle dining institution for more than 30 years.
Built in 1927 as Seattle's Oakland Hotel, the McCormick's Fish House building is now a bastion of old-Seattle in the shadow of the towering 76 story Columbia Center. Multi-level dining areas, aged dark wood and brass and walls thick with nostalgic memorabilia give McCormick's a traditional and intimate feel.
McCormick's Fish House pioneered the "fresh sheet" in Seattle's restaurant scene. Originally featuring five or six items daily, today the restaurant features more than 20 varieties of fresh seafood listed daily on the ever-changing menu.
The venerable bar features a full selection of liquors, beers, and an extensive wine list. McCormick's oyster bar also offers a wide selection of fresh oysters each day.
"If I want to treat someone to a lunch where the service will be spectacular, I always choose McCormicks. They always take great care in their presentation, and the atmosphere is regal without being stuffy. And the lunch prices are very competitive, with a great selection. It would be hard to do better without tripling the cost. Worth the effort."

"I booked a reservation for a certain time on Mother's day, and actually ended up arriving 2 hours earlier, and they were very accommodating. The food was delicious, and the place was very nice. We were a little eery at first, because from outside it looked like the lights were very dim, but once you walk in you'll see that it is very well-lit. Our waiter was very friendly, and he was very helpful being that we were first-timers. My only downfall with this place is that the service was slow, it was worth the wait, but at the same time I wish it could have been expedited just a little faster."

"Four of us had a staff appreciation lunch at McCormick's and we all loved the food. We also indulged in dessert and the three items we ordered were delicious. Also, the service was excellent and the food arrived pretty quick. I would definitely recommend this restaurant."

"This is a frequent choice to meet clients. The booths are always perfect for my kind of business. The booths offer privacy without being stuffy. The noise level is never intrusive. The entire staff is always friendly and efficient."

"They had specials on their web site that apparently were from Restaurant Week, and were outdated. When I mentioned they were on their web site, the waiter checked with someone and told me 'we are trying to get them off the web site." No offer was made to compensate for their error, which was disappointing. They also do not validate parking from Columbia Tower. Both these aspects distracted from enjoyment of our meal with out-of-town guests."

"McCormick's has always been a very reliable place to dine. It can get a bit noisy, but is fine if in a back booth. The fish is always fresh and well prepared, and we enjoy the casual and comfortable environment."

"I was very disappointed in this experience. The restaurant was very heavy on the upsell. With Seattle having a huge fishing industry and proximity to good local fish, I was disappointed to see non-local varieties on the menu. The waiter suggested the crab and shrimp egg rolls. I ordered them, and I was very unsatisfied with them. They had lots of filler, no crab, and one piece of shrimp. When the waiter came to collect the plate, I mentioned it to him when he asked if I liked them. Nothing was done to fix this.
It was also Restaurant Week, and this was not even mentioned / offered while we were there."

"I went to lunch with friends from work. I've gone hot and cold with McCormick's...like the food they serve. My fries looked and tasted like they sat for a while. It's the second time it's happened. When they've been good it's been wonderful, when they've missed it's been miserable...not quite awful enough to send back because at lunch I'm usually pressed for time and can't wait for do-overs.I have to rethink the convenience of McCormick's being so close to work. I feel like I'm being taken for granted."

"Food was outstanding! We were worried that we'd be disappointed as the restaurant was near empty at 7 pm on a Saturday night. However, as this restaurant is located in Seattle's downtown Finacial District, apparently this restaurant is busy mid-week but not so much on the weekend. We'll definitely go back!"

"I had the salmon burger which was ok but the french fries were stiff as if they had been kept warm for a long time. If you serve fries they have to be fresh."

"Had the Fish n Chips and chowder. Chowder was great, just like the service! The Fish n chips however; seemed like it was re-fried (the fish), ie from yesterday's batch. Edible but not worth the $16 it was listed at.
Overall disappointed."

"Selected the restaurant for a lunch meeting, due to the proximity to our client's office. Everything we had from our oysters appetizer to dessert - AMAZING. Our waiter (who was great as well), mentioned their "world famous Arnold Palmer" - I ordered it and totally agree - definitely the best I've ever had."

"Went on Valentine's Day. Got a reservation only because the neighborhood seems to chase away the dinner crowd. (Lunch is packed). Food is terrific. One of the best fish houses in town. If they had valet parking, you'd never be able to get in."

"Three of us ate dinner. The crusted Sole with buerre blanc was good. The steak was average. Scallops substituted for shrimp with fettucine and alfredo was not good. Scallops were charred and sauce lacked flavor. Service was extremely slow and we had the misfortune to be seated at a booth next to a group of profane lawyers."

"We were celebrating a 60th birthday and they printed "Happy 60th Birthday" on the top of their lunch menus, and also brought the birthday girl's lunch with a candle on it, which was another special touch. Thanks!"

"I had a terrible experience. I booked the reservation several days in advance for a noon lunch and I requessted a booth. I arrived at the restuarant at 11:55 am. The hostess was rude and tried to give me a small table instead of a booth. I indicated that I had requested a booth. She stated that she had given it to someone else. She stated that if I wanted a booth, I would have to wait a few minutes. I asked why I did not get the booth in the first place. She stated that someone was there. At the time, there were several booths available. Subsequently to my arrival, others who had requested booths arrived at McCormick's and were immediately placed in booths. At 12:20 pm I was finally given a booth. I will not go back!!"

"The grilled fish on the Caesar salad was fabulous. The best parts of the meal: the booth, ambience, grilled fish, and attentive service; and, of course, the company of my guest."
