Damas, an upscale Syrian restaurant located on popular Park Avenue is worth trying out. You will be charmed by the Oriental decor and most impressed by their refined and rich cuisine. This modern but authentic gastronomy will make your mouth water with all their specialties starting from the fattouche, the appetizing mouth-melting lamb leg to the cherry kebab. The blend of aromas and the tasting of the delicious preparations will make the experience worthwhile
"As usual, Damas impresses us with the quality of its food and service. No plate is ordinary here, and everything is prepared with originality and care. The staff is very attentive, helpful and friendly. Must try!!"

"unbelievably tasty and creative food. Each dish was a joy to the taste buds. Attentive service. A real gem. worth it for the Baba Ganoush alone, but the lamb with sour cherries was amazing."

"Damas restaurant offers a great Middle-Eastern culinary experience to the connoisseur as well as the rookie. The food will remind you of the streets of Syria or other Middle-East country. It's authentic cuisine, no doubt! The freshness of the food amazed me. The setting is cosy, the decoration reflects very well the Middle-Eastern traditions but seating could be a little too close to thy neighbour.
Price wise, be prepared! Even though Damas Restaurant offers great quality food, amazing service and an out of this world Middle-Eastern culinary experience, yet I believe it is a tad over priced! But, it might be worth it if you need to be forgiven for pre-ordering the PS4 when your wife was expecting a new dishwasher.."

"This is an outstanding restaurant in a part of the city well known for excellent restaurants. The mezzes are all must haves, as are the specialty dishes. Highly recommended."

"The food was all very good. I thought, in the end, that a total of 220 tax and tip included for the tasting menu and wine was a bit expensive. The food was all very good, but nothing life changing. I would scale back the portion sizes and be a bit more creative. I also would love to know how this is any different than any Lebanese restaurant. The Syrian distinctions, insofar as they exist, should shine a bit more.
Our server was fun and enthusiastic. But we heard him say to every table that a different dish was his favourite. That's fine, to an extent; but we were looking for a bit more guidance and direction. He made sure we were well-fed, but for us, a bit more attention to detail in the dishes would catapult this restaurant."

"I am not a Montreal native and hopped on Open Table to find a nice place to go while my husband and I visited for the weekend. We dined there with 4 friends, and while the wait for the table took some time (it was packed, and there was a delay in spite of us reserving about a week in advance), it was well worth the wait. We had the 5 course tasting menu and it was amazing! The everything from fattouch to beef tenderloin, to shish taouk, finished off with delicate pastries and fresh mint tea. I couldn't say anything more positive about the food. Wine recommendation from the server was also very unique and enjoyed by our table (a Lebanese red). Service was efficient, knowledgable and friendly. Really looking forward to a return visit."
