"At $38 a person plus 18% service charge included, you would expect to have a variety of hot meals. Hot offerings were very limited to all kind of pork products (pulled, sausage, bacon, etc.) plus fried chicken, grits and potatoes. Ideal for any ones that is a fan of pork, unfortunately, my wife and I are not. Salad and desert were good but not exceptional. The view of the mountains was priceless."

Review 3 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"I never know what to expect when going to an unfamiliar restaurant because I have several food allergies that require extra attention. However, the sous chef walked me around the buffet to inform me of what went into each dish, and he also prepared anything I wanted to my specifications. The customer service was terrific, and the food was even better. A fantastic overall experience!"

Review 7 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"We have had brunch here several times. The food has been better in the past... Unfortunately because we took our baby, we had to sit in the baby zone. Apparantly if you have a child that means you want to be surrounded by other children. Which means that we weren't able to enjoy the view- one of the best things the restaurant has going for it... Overall I think their kother's day brunch is a little overpriced. But my in laws really enjoy it, so I'm sure we'll be going back."

Review 9 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"We were celebrating a college graduation, so it was a very special occasion. The setting and the scenery in itself make it very special. However, we thought the food was just "good". It really was not that special. The presentation of the food is exceptional, but the food itself was nothing spectacular.
We would go back just for the venue, but would hope that, for the price, the food might be better."

"Love the Blue Ridge Dining Room at Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. The food is sublime and creative, the service is top notch and the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains is divine. The food and service is quite special. And then, gaze out to those gorgeous peaks and you have an evening to remember forever."

"Have visited The Grove several times, and this resturant is a great way to get the spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Asheville without paying thousands some pay for a hotel room with not as good a view. Very worth while for a great evening, but get there before the sun goes down."

"Prime rib was excellent. Selection of food compared to previous years was slim. Deserts were quality of frozen deserts. Also no chocolate deserts! Tasteless greenbeans were the only green cooked vegetable. Price $41 We would rather go elsewhere for just a great prime rib""

Review 20 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"All the dishes on the prim rib buffet were delicious & well-prepared - yes, we tried them ALL! The prim rib (2 types, roasted & smoked) was especially good - the server was skilled at delivering the requested portion size and degree of done-ness. And the view out across the Blue Ridge Mountains alone is worth the price of the meal! Our waiter was very socially skilled and quickly attended to our every request."

"Selection of seafood not as good as years past... desert selection was fair What was available was average Service was excellent All hotel employees were very friendly $7.00 parking to eat in restaurant is a little ridiculous Asheville has many other restaurants where food is better and selection also greater However, the staff could not have been nicer."

Review 23 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"The Grove Park Inn is the greatest and the Blue Ridge Dining Room is the greatest. The view is second to none. The place is full of history. The food is the best. If you go away hungry you went to the wrong dining room or hotel. We have been there several times and still cannot get use to how great it is. There are literally rooms full of food. Try it, you will love it."

Review 25 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"What an improvement. The last holiday meal we had at the Grove Park Inn, several years ago was, to say the least, disappointing. The new owners seem serious about revitalizing a destination that has for too long lived on its reputation as the ultimate mountain retreat for people from Atlanta and Florida. The food was Southern, innovative and other than the shortcomings that come with all buffets, very good. The service was friendly and attentive. Now those of us who live here have a reason to go to the GPI and to recommend it to friends and relatives."

"The Friday night seafood buffet is a great destination. It is pricey; but there is no other place to taste variety of seafood, vegetables, cheese, breads, salads and fantastic desserts. Treat yourself to a slow dinner with an attentive waitstaff and a view of Asheville. Date night - not a meal for small children."

Review 29 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"Food was excellent as always at the Blue Ridge Dining Room. Only complaint is that our seating was a poor one, out of sight of our waiter, who must not have been notified of our arrival. We waited for quite some time before he was finally alerted to our presence and began to help us navigate the day's offerings. Though we had reservations, arrived promptly and noted that more desirable seating was available , we were given odd seating behind a large pillar and were cut off from the beautiful view of Asheville and out of the sight line of our waiter. Most disappointing, but still enjoy an excellent meal and each other's company."

Review 34 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"My husband and I enjoy dining at Grove Park Inn. We usually come for either the Friday or Saturday night buffet. I was a little disappointed with our service this trip. I didn't feel that it was at the same level as it has been. The food was just "ok" Saturday night. There wasn't anything that just jumped out to where I could honestly say it was wonderful. My husband did enjoy the large oysters, and I loved the shrimp that night. The potatoes au gratin were much too salty, but the carrots were terrific. I tried the Mahi Mahi as it hard to mess up Mahi. It did have good flavor, but I thought something was still missing. The deserts were all good. The Bailey's creme brûlée was out of this world."

Review 36 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"It had been many years since we dined at the Blue Ridge Room at the Grove Park Inn. It has changed from a menu based to a buffet which was suprising but the buffet was extraordinary. all the offerings were top of the line, two different types of prime rib. Oysters, shrimp and many other great items to choose from. The desserts were excellent. Service was as expected, outstanding."

"Gorgeous sunset view of the mountains. Attentive waiter. Wonderful buffet - plenty of room to wander around their assortment of salads, mains, vegetables and desserts. This is our second stay at The Grove Park Inn, coming from Alabama, and looking forward to another stay and dinner at the Saturday night Buffet!"

Review 40 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"Grove Park Inn in itself is absolutely beautiful. We stopped there as several people indicated how beautiful the lobby was. They were not wrong. Lobby is huge and offers two gigantic fireplaces that you can pull rocking chairs up to. There is a bar in the lobby as well. We decided to dine at the hotel and the seafood buffet sounded enticing. Don't let the word buffet scare you as this isn't your typical buffet. Two rooms set up, one for cold food and one for hot food. Smoked salmon was one of my favorites, cooked trout was my husbands favorite. They were offering a spinach encrusted salmon that was delicious as well. We were dressed in jeans, however most were dressed in at least business casual. A bit pricy but well worth it."

Review 41 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"My husband has been doing the antique show at the grove park inn for 4 years. This was my first time. He was so excited to have me experience the buffet. He had eaten there before and he was impressed. This year however, there was very little variety and what was there we could have gotten anywhere for a lot less cost. The dessert was the same as eating at a cheap chinese buffet that has dried out cakes. The shrimp were small to medium like everywhere else and the salad was just a chunk of lettuce.I have to say that the chicken strip was the best thing at the buffet but it ended up being the most expensive chicken strip I have ever eaten. We were extremly disappointed and we felt that we had just thrown a $100.00 bill out of the window."

Review 43 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"I loved the experience that we had at the Blue Ridge Inn.
However, I strongly suggest you get more energetic servers. They had no personality. Jonathan & Frank seemed nervous. Didn't make any type of conversation. Just asked for our drink order and brought our check.
In addition, I called to make a reservation two days before our visit. My reservation was for 1:30pm. Unfortunetly the drive took a little longer than expected, so we call to change our reservation to 2pm. When we arrived we were informed that the Inn was closing at 2pm. We had to eat quickly because the hostess made us feel tight on time. Why did the person who took our reservation not informed us of the hours of operation"

"We enjoyed the seafood buffet with my son during the Arts and Crafts conference. The food was excellent. There was a large selection of foods. We tried to taste some of each and ended up extremely full. Everything was very good. Think my favorite was the flan for dessert. It is always fun to eat from a large selection of food and there was nothing bad. We enjoyed the dinner very much."

Review 48 for Blue Ridge Dining Room - Grove Park Inn
"My wife and I brought my parents who were celebrating their 47th Wedding Anniversary, and we were celebrating our 25th. We attended the Saturday night Prime Rib Buffet and our overall dining experience was great. However, I was surprised to see several of the food items run low and completely out, with a significant delay in replenishing, if at all. The prime rib station was set-up poorly, displaying the condiments prior to the serving station causing people to have to go back and cut in front of others in line. Our table server was wonderful. At the end of our dining service, she brought out a separate plates with pastries wishing us a Happy Anniversary. A nice touch to end the night! All that said, I highly recommend a visit!"

"Atmosphere and service good. Food absurdly overpriced for a buffet. The price of the buffet is not told to patrons prior to seating. There is no way that a buffet should cost $50 per person. Clams and shrimp were not good."
