"We've been to this restaurant multiple times now and have never been disappointed. The back room however, is noisier and less cozy, than the other other rooms. The dessert was delicious but skimpy on portion for the cost. My 11 & 13 year old daughters love it. Leftovers are always a treat. When we went on Mothers day, which was my daughter's birthday celebration, we had indicated that when making poo it reservations. They did not acknowledge the birthday at all."

"We had a party of 7 for Mothers Day Lunch total bill was $377.00. I have been to Asparagus several times before and it has always been great. However today's visit was not up to par. 5 out of 7 of my guest's were not impressed and said they would not return. The food was unusually sweet to the point of overpowering. The appetizers were excellent, however it went downhill from there. The deserts were also very good as well as the atmosphere. Our server was pleasant and on top of things. I will give them another chance and return foe what I am hoping to be the usual great experience we are use to."

"We went for Sunday supper to treat my mother for Mother's Day. Quiet, tastefully decorated restaurant that is bright with a simple elegance. Extensive menu has wide variety of Thai, Vietnamese, French-influenced dishes covering all courses from appetizer to dessert. Appetizers and entrees were good-sized - enough to be filling, or to order and share. Everything we ordered was delightfully unique and absolutely delicious. There are definitely some "safe" dishes and some "adventurous" ones. Even dessert had a unique Asian flavor to some classics. Wonderful! Relaxing! Attentive service.
Asparagus was a great find, and one we would highly recommend."

"We live in NW Indiana but almost always head to Chicago for fine dining. What a spectacular find to have a first-rate restaurant in Merrillville. The food was exceptional -- cooked to perfection with subtle variations between each course. For appetizers the spring rolls with crab were fresh and crisp. The calamari rings were firm yet not rubbery. Dipping sauces are spicy but not excessively so. Entrees are generous, tasty and cooked to perfection. Most deserts can be shared. Nice wine and drink list. The wait staff is knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. In total it was a great dining experience."

"Asparagus is a place that everyone needs to try. I have been there numerous times but this last dinner was with friends that had never been there and they could not say enough good things about the food. The unique spices and wonderful tastes will keep you coming back. My absolute favorite is the Cashew Pineapple Chicken dish. My husband's favorite is the Lamb, it melts off the bone.

"The Heels and High Balls group met to review Asparagus and loved it.
What we loved:
The server was very friendly and helped to navigate the menu so everyone found options they enjoyed.
Menu selections were full of flavor and in filling portions. Each was well plated for a neat and clean presentation.
Glasses remained full as table service remained attentive in the warm and inviting ambiance of the bar area and small group dinning room.

"A great cross between Thai and French cuisine. Lots of options for the Pad Thai to suit any taste. One recommendation, if you do not like strong flavors, request that the eggs rolls do not have the Vietnamese Basil in the Vietnamese egg rolls (on the sample appetizer platter). The spice overpowers everything. Otherwise, great food, staff and atmosphere."

"The selection of all food items was excellent and adventuresome. The wait staff was superb and on top of it! The wine selection is quite appropriate with variations on taste, price and suggesting matching to the food.
My only complaint would be the noise level, as it was difficult to converse with our daughter and her significant other from across the table. The purpose of the evening was a "get together" with the 2 of them over a nice meal.
Certainly, I would go back a gain, but it crowded in the dining area, I would either go early, go later or go eat in the bar area."
