"Due to unemployment I have found myself not going to dinner or lunch for the last 6 months so I thought the flavors and the whole meal was fantastic - but a more realistic view , my daughter who is a pilot and eats out fairly often thought it was just ok. Probably a 2 star, but me it was definitely a 3. Thanks for a great meal with my family."

"We made reservations on a busy Saturday night at 7:15 to catch up with old friends. The lobby was full of people waiting but we were shown to our table immediately! Our waiter gave us a list of specials but did not rush us. Service was amazing! He was
there when we needed but not obtrusive. We started with crusty bread and extra virgin olive oil full of flavor. The food was hot, plated beautifully and delicious! The manager/owner (?) stopped by to see how everything was and when we told him it was our first visit he returned with 2 bottles of olive oil for us to take home. We will be back!"

"Dinner and service were great as usual. Pork Shank and Daily Special Mahi MAhi were terrific. A large family next to us felt it was fine for children to be running, screaming, bumping into our table, and constantly in the way of the servers. I was quite surprised no one spoke to them. If hot food was spilled, it would be quite a liability. We were looking for a quiet Saturday dinner which was ruined by inconsiderate people. This is becoming more and more of an issue and restaurants need to adress how to kindly ask these folks to step outside for a few minutes. Another group that came in on the other side requested to be moved. It was quite annoying!"

"Just moved from Saratoga to Clifton Park so we were happy to see a sister restaurant of two of our favorites in Saratoga - Chianti's and Forno Bistro. We miss Saratoga downtown but Pasta Pane helped us forget that we aren't there. Great night! We will be back."

"We were a group of five, celebrating my mother's 68th birthday. It was our second time at Pasta Penne. Again, the service went above and beyond what to normally expect. Customer service is outstanding. They knew from the beginning we were celebrating my mom's birthday and they made her feel extra special. Not only the Happy Birthday in Italian and tastefully done, but a free delicious tiramisu and a small bottle of olive oil for her. I love this place!"

"Food was good, but it was very dark in the dining room with the glare of the sun coming in through the blinds. Ours was a group of four friends who had not seen each other in a while. I could not see the people across the table from me. We asked the waitress to close the blinds, which she did, but that made it even darker. Then the hostess came and reopened them. So we were back to the same problem. We ended up closing them again ourselves. It seemed like a constant battle with the blinds. Dinner was good, not great. Three of us ordered coffee, which tasted like it was from an old pot.... bitter. We asked the waitress about it and she said it was just brewed. We couldn't drink it. Sorry, but I don't know if I'll return."

"Overall the food is great with generous portions. Does tend to be on the pricey side, which I don't mind once in a while. That noted, I thought the service was really lacking, slow and our server never returned after we received our meals to make sure all was good. Once he did return, it was to ask if we wanted coffee. I asked my companion is she wanted dessert, the server never brought it up. This, hopefully was just an bad experience and not the norm. Customer service can make or break a restaurant no matter the quality of the food..."

"Great vibe but be prepared for slow service. Been twice and have waited a long time for apps and main to appear. Last time we closed the place. Fun scene and great huge bar in the center of the restaurant. The best bread in Clifton Park. The wait staff is professional but kitchen seems overtaxed. Had a large party and the place was packed. We waited for hours. Will return but also enjoy another local Italian as well if not better. The waits we experienced both times are a managerial problem not due to wait staff."

"Had an excellent meal here Satruday evening. Had the meatball appetizer, followed by the pork shank for dinner, both were fabulous. Plenty of fresh hot bread pre-meal, overall great dinner great service."

"We usually love DZ restaurants and have frequented pasta panne many times. Our waiter was very efficient, however in an effort to refill drinks, water etc. he never said excuse me and was often "right there" as you were putting food in your mouth. The food portions tomato and moz. Had hardly any cheese and tomatoes and the dinner special (pasta) was over-cooked and the braised pork was hard and had no flavor. The meal itself was disappointing. I would normally recommend this restaurant for the yummy meals, but our recent two visits have not been up to par."

"The staff made you feel like you were their most valued guest. They took care of us with a smile, had a table ready for us at exactly the time of our reservation (and the restaurant was crowded), and never missed a beat. The four of us who were dining thoroughly enjoyed our dinners and the excellent by-the-glass wines. We would highly recommend Pasta Pane for a fun, informal evening out if you are looking for delicious meals and superb service."
