McCormick & Schmick's Seafood - Troy
McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant of Troy, Michigan, features fresh quality seafood. The menu offers something for everyone. Over 18 delicious fresh seafood varieties to choose from including local favorites such as Perch, Whitefish and Walleye. We also serve Wild Salmon and Halibut when it is available. We have fresh oysters from the East and West Coast. We also serve wonderful prime cut beef, chicken and pasta dishes, soups, salads and decadent desserts seven days a week for both lunch and dinner.
The restaurant features a variety of dining arrangements from intimate "snugs" to separate banquet rooms for private parties, including showers, business functions, and seminars . The full-service bar features hand-shaken and freshly squeezed juice drinks and our award winning happy hour with food items starting at $1.95. Happy Hour is Monday - Thursday 4:00p.m - 7:00 p.m and again from 9:00p.m - 10:00 p.m, Friday 4:00 p.m - 6:30 p.m, and Sundays 3:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m.

"I enjoyed my first visit to this restaurant. I found each dish ordered to be high quality and adequately portioned. I was just as impressed by how they prepared beef as lobster, and the side dishes and appetizers did not disappoint.
The atmosphere was nice, as the restaurant was well maintained and very clean. There are some tables in alcoves, which appeared to provide a more romantic seating option than the booths and tables available in the main area.
Service was attentive. However, I noticed that the host's desk near the front door was only sporadically attended. Some people were forced to wait for quite some time before being acknowledged by any restaurant staff. I even saw a couple leave after waiting unattended."

"When I made reservations, I did not know that I made them during Brunch hours. I was disappointed because it was Mother's Day and I wanted the meal to be special. "From the moment I'm greeted upon entering the lobby, I know my dining experience will be as spectacular as the last.

"We had a party of 9. Dinner was good for the most part. My dinner the seafood sampler plate was small portioned. The Salmon was the best I ever had, however the the rest of the seafood was good but, not outstanding. I definitely would go back again and order the salmon!"

"Neither the website nor the hostess who called to confirm with me alerted me to the fact that it was only a buffet style event. When I told the waitress of my disappointment, she promptly got the manager. The manager told me that the restaurant was not prepared for a sit-down meal. The waitress then came back and asked if we were leaving. At 12:30 in the afternoon on Mother's Day we had nowhere else to go- and I told our waitress that. We continued on with our meal and ordered a bottle of wine for the occasion (Kendall Jackson, chardonnay). The manager once again had to come over and tell us that this bottle was unavailable. The manager did not help us find a silver lining in our day's disappointment. We felt very unappreciated."

"When my food was delivered, I tasted my food and everything was luke warm except the salmon, which was hot off the grill. This led me to believe that the rest of my meal had been ready for some time before the salmon was cooked. The mashed potatoes were also cold. However, the server and manager were very nice about getting me more potatoes that were hot. The stuffed and grilled shrimp were tasty but a little overcooked. However, the truffles were amazing! Again, the server and manager were extremely helpful and professional and the milieu was cozy. If the food had been better I would have rated the overall experience outstanding (5 stars)."

"I have been here before and decided to return a second time because I received a gift card. I think the food was good, but not outstanding for the price. I had a steak and was underwhelmed. Please don't get me wrong, the food is good, but not great! I was expecting something comparable to Flemings and so disappointed. I think they could definitely improve overall. I probably would not return, maybe just for their happy hour menu."

"I brought some work colleagues to McCormick hoping for a pleasant experience, but was I disappointed! I made a reservation and was given a poor table. Anyone walking in off the street got a better table! I didn't ask to be changed because my party go there before me and was already seated. It took almost 30 minutes just to get a cocktail; servers kept walking by (or should I say "bumping by") and never waited on us. The server was not knowledgeable about the menu, and overall the food was mediocre (fish was DRY!) Go somewhere else!"

"Everything was just OK.. It was very loud in there the whole time;at first my husband was sitting across from me, but we couldn't even hear each other so he had to move over, and we were still having a hard time hearing each other. The restaurant wasn't full, so the noise wasn't due to the amount of people.. . Definitely overpriced, and with those types of prices we expect more. we both got seafood as it was a seafood place, and the halibut was overcooked, and the top was very dry, probably from sitting under the lights too long. Also, every other table got bread, so not sure if you had to ask for it, or if our server just forgot. We had gift certificates for the place, which is why we went, but probably won't go back."

"If you want a great fish dinner, consider McCormick & Schmick's. The Sizzling Salmon was excellent, the waitress talked me into switching from Atlantic to King Salmon with asian Pepper Sauce, great flavor. The 6-seat semi-private tables are what you want in the dining area, almost feels like a private room. They also have great Happy Hour specials, I am going to bring my team from work to check it out some Wednesday."

"I really appreciated that the hostess accommodated us although our party arrived separately and some of us 15 minutes prior to our reservation but the restaurant was practically empty. The service however was extremely disappointing. The appetizers came immediately, the dinner over an hour after that and with various temperatures from cool to hot. We were told that we would get a bread basket which we never did. Nobody asked if we needed a refill for our drinks, the waitress disappeared for very long intervals of time; the restaurant was not busy, but we felt totally neglected. We left over 20% tip on the almost $200 bill because we didn't want to be mean on Easter weekend, but we won’t be going back any time soon."

"It was the first time we brought our three young boys (6 and twins that are 4). They loved their kids' meals. It was also the first time my parents ate there and they really enjoyed their meals too. This is our favorite restaurant in the area because we can count on the fresh and flavorful fish every time!"

"We dinned in a group of four and sampled all over the menu. The appetizer was very good (crab spring-roll) and every entre was excellent. The pan-fried oysters were perfect, probably the best I have had since returning to Michigan after living in the south and the pacific northwest for over 20 years."

"The food was just so so. My shrimp scampi was dry and flavorless. We did speak to the manager and he agreed it didn't look right. We were credited for my entre and given a complimentary card for an appetizer or dessert,but I don't think we return for dinner. The Cesar salad was excelle t. If I return I will do the small plates in the bar."

"Went for their St Paddy's Day meal, very limited on choices. Chose the corned beef and cabbage. Although very flavorful, the beef was not tender, but rubber. Cabbage and carrots were wonderful but the portion was VERY small. Based on the small portion, which is not the norm for McC & Sch, I would have thought the cost would have reflected that, but it did not. Pricey for a beef and cabbage meal."

"Our dining experience on Sunday, 3/17 was horrible. The food was not good and the service was horrible. We ordered fish and chips to later find out that they were out of "chips" so we were offered mash potatoes or potatoes. How do you run out of fries? The mash potatoes were bland and most of our food was cold and sub par. The server was quiet and flighty and not knowledgeable about the menu or process and had a bit of an attitude. I am a VIP on Opentable with over 7000 points (in a short amount of time) so I eat out a lot and I definitely will not be visiting this restaurant again. There are plenty of great seafood restaurants in the vicinity of this restaurant and all of have much better service, food, and overall value."

"Overall it was a very nice experience. We were seated immediately in one of their private booths, which was great because we wanted to converse. Our server Mark was prompt and took care of everything in a very professional way. We even had several visits from the management team to see how things were going.
The drinks were cold and the food was hot and all served promptly. Everyone told me they enjoyed their selections very much."
