"Seated then watched tables seated later get served before us. I had to bring it to their attention or we'dhave sat there all night. I thought things would get better but they did not. The waiter was nice but visits to our table were few and far between. I wish I'd taken my mom somewhere else for Mothers' Day dinner. It was my second and last visit."

"We went there for my birthday celebration. The menus said at the top "Happy Birthday". However, they did not give a birthday dessert, which is typical for most higher end steak and seafood restaurants. It was very disappointing to celebrate there without getting a birthday dessert."

"The seafood is very fresh and there is a wide variety of choices to choose from. Both the chilean sea bass and the king salmon were very rich and flavorful, cooked perfectly. Neither were overpowered by the light sauce accompanying them. The service was very attentive. I look forward to coming back to try some of the other appetizers and dishes."

We regular use city dining clubs and in comparison the atomospehere and service standards were met but the food experience was not up to pricing. "We had a party of 10, they seated us right away. The service was spot on! As soon as the entire party arrived we ordered apetizers and got our bread and butter on each table. Our waiter was very quick to make sure that we had wine in our glasses, water in our cups. He made sure that everyone was more than satisfied with their orders. He explained and answered our menu questions in detail. We had a really great time celebrating my husband's birthday! Couldn't have had a better evening. We will definitely be dining at McCormick and Schmick's in the near future!"

"For the 2nd consecutive visit to this restaurant I was disappointed and doubt I'll return soon as there are many other options for business lunches in the area. For one thing, our waiter was hard to get. He had too many table and before leaving the room he didn't scan the room to see if anyone needed him (common practice, that's serving 101). We never got bread & our drinks constantly needed refills. My steak was awful (cooked welldone and I ordered med/rare) and when they finally did bring the new steak they re-served it with the same vegatables from the original plate, so those were now straight mush. For $30 I expect a steak to be at least as good as what I can get at Outback. This particular McCormick & Schmick's has lost its luster."

"We had a last-minute dinner with my daughter who had picked this restaurant. I generally like McCormick & Schmick's restaurants. There is a wide variety of items on the menu and the food is good with fresh fish their specialty. The festivities in the back bar for St. Patrick's Day weekend affected restaurant service but did not cause any dining room noise. This restaurant thankfully seems to have escaped the changes in decor and ambiance that the new owner of the chain has installed at other locations."

"I enjoy McCormick & Schmick's cuisine as well as the ambiance of the restaurant. The booths and tables are situated such that you can actually hear and enjoy your party without having to listen to everyone else's. I loved the Mahi Mahi - it was cooked and seasoned perfectly as was the side of asparagus I requested. I know my party loved their rainbow trout and scallops because once the food arrived, everyone was quiet and focused upon their individual meals. I would LOVE for the restaurant to develop a gluten free menu to assist those of us watching our carbs to choose entrees wisely. The service was well-timed and friendly for the most part. I will return to this restaurant and would recommend it to friends."

"Small portions but very good food. Date had stuffed shrimp and I had Sockeye Salmon. Both portions on the small side but very tasty. We stared a salad which was good as well. It was my date's birthday and my only complaint is that our waiter said to pick any dessert she wanted, but when I reviewed the bill he charged me the full $9.50 for the molten lava cake. "this was the 2nd time going to McCormick & Schmick's Seafood in Irvine. The 1st time was wonderful but we went on a night that was very slow therefore we were pampered and our food come out in a timely fashion and it was cooked perfectly. This time we went on Valentine's Day and the kitchen could not keep up with the demands. The food took almost 45 mins to come out and the lobster I ordered as well as the seafood platter my husband ordered were overcooked. The lobster was chewy and flavorless. My husbands platter was pitiful as it was small portions and very overcooked. When you spend $135 for dinner for 2 you expect it to be good. Doubtful if I'll ever get my husband to take me there again."

"I went on valentines day. It was surprising that we got a table late notice. How did they do it? They took over the entire bar next door and the upstairs to create a restaurant. I had eatten at M & S many times before and previously liked their food.
We were seated right away in their upstairs area. Although our waitress gave us good service, she worked alone. It took a long time to get some bread. The food was awful. I order the Parmesean crusted sole. Previously I loved the dish. But it was greasy. The fish was awful.
I will not come to this restauran again."

"Managed to get a last minute reservation. After about 4 couples who checked in after us were seated, we were seated. Ordered quickly but still took a while for our food. My stuffed salmon was dry. My wife's filet was ok. The vegetables were a joke. My wife's plate was almost all sliced carrots. Presentation was not a priority. Waiter forgot my glass of wine. We had gift cards to spend. It's still money but if I was paying my own hard earned money for this level of food and service, I wouldn't have been so laid back. (Next day, I ate at "The Little Door" in L.A. A few more dollars but much better food and service. May not be fair to compare, but I expected more from M&S.)"

"My wife and I really enjoy this restaurant. And believe me, I give very wide latitude when going out on holidays, but this was systemetically bad. However, just don't go on Valentines Day. We were seated promptly, but it took ten minutes to get water. We ordered as soon as the waiter came, it took another 30 minutes before he came by again. Still no bread, had to ask for water, forgot the soup. By the end he brought the wrong dessert , we just asked them to box it up, and we left as soon as possible. The whole problem is too many tables per waiter on Valentines."

"As usual, food,ambiance and service were excellent. Our waiter went out of his way to make sure our menu choices met our expectations and assured a generous adjustment to the bill even though I had forgotten to bring my Landry's Select Club card. All in all, I couldn't find a single negative thing to say about the experience."

"I wanted to like this place because of its good location and nice decor, but I left the quite disappointed. The service was slow and excessively poor. It took 70 minutes for our entrées from the time we were seated. My wife ended up getting the wrong entrée, and we had to wait even longer to get it corrected. Our waiter was inattentive and never checked on us. Trying to get his attention for service was like pulling teeth. Drink refills never happened and some bread would have helped while we waited. At first, we really wanted to order dessert, but after waiting for the dessert menu, we ended up changing our minds. Our dinner service was 2+ hours and much of the time was spent waiting at an empty table with empty glasses and empty plates."
