"Terrible waiter who messed up order multiple times and had to wait for him over ten each time he left the table. My dad orders a soup and trout. Another 30 mins goes by and no sign of him, when finally another waiter brings the soup which was wrong. Two minutes later our waiter comes and brings the wrong soup again! He ordered a fish and he got a steak. When he told him he ordered trout, the waiter informs him that the trout has been sold out for over 3 hours and that our waiter just didn't know. By this time, we have lost all hope in ever getting my father want he ordered. The manager comes out personally and talks to us and has to personally make sure that we had no more incidents."

"I keep forgetting how bad the service is. It even reflects on food - my dinner arrived lukewarm.
We waited for 10 minutes with reservations, plenty of empty tables. Waited for 25 minutes for entree. Waited for 15 minutes to get desert.

"Listen up, the presentation of the dinner, all phases, was very very good. The appetizer could have been warmer when it arrived at the table. The dessert, peach cobbler, was unremarkable, not memorable, taste wise. I would not order it again. The entree, lobster cobb salad was very good and repeatable. Self-parking at your Hackensack NJ location was difficult, thank goodness you offered valet service in recognition of this inconvenience. The greeters at the front were helpful and intelligent and polite. Will return. Will recommend."

"We were assigned a new waiter with no experience and no support. Orders arrived in wrong sequence from start to finish. Drinks where returned. I asked for the manager and he was not helpful with anything I have reported. It seems like he hears it often.
Don’t mean to get down on the waiter, new guy was nervous. But the organization sets him up to fail if he is not trained properly.

"I enjoy going to this restaurant. This is my 4th visit; and as usual, I had a great time with husband. We arrived early (1 hour) and we were afraid that we may have to wait. The hostess acknowleged us but she did not appear to be in a hurry to seat us. But a nice young man, named Bobby, took care of us and introduced himself to be our waiter. He was so tentative and a perfect gentleman. He was able to make 2 of my favorite drinks. We loved the shrimp kisses. They were delicious. I ordered a well-done hamburger as an entree, but it was not to my liking. But Bobby took it back to the chef; and the chef came out to apology to me for not preparing the burger to my specification. That made my day. The staff was wonderful."

"My husband choices were all great. His steak cooked to perfection and seasoned great. Dry rubbed ribeye. I had the sea scallops, which were chewy and over cooked. The crab hashbrowns were so salty that I could not finish. Scallops did not seem fresh. Waiter comp'd my husbands desert. My husband loved the lemon custard pie. I thought it was okay. Would I go again. This is my second time. The first time the food was excellent. This time not so much. The waiter was excellent."

"I was so excited to try this restaurant! My hubby had dined here 4 years ago, and though expensive, he had a very good experience. Thus, he thought it would be a great dining choice for our anniversary dinner.
While not every aspect of the evening was negative, the overall experience was only fair. The ambience and service were wonderful. Our waitor could not have been more attentive. The restaurant was seemingly clean with little noise. However, the food was our issue!
Everything that should have been hot arrived barely warm with little flavor - from the appetizers to the entrees. It was as if the food had been cooling for 15 minutes before being brought to us..awful! The coffee was the hottest part of the meal! We will not be returning"

"We should have read the reviews before we made a reservation.
Food was awful. I ordered Clam Chowder as an appetizer. Progresso can soup taste better than this. Boring and bland. My main entree was Stuffed Atlantic Salmon. Salmon came out over cooked and dry. Side of mash potato tasted like it was made from the box and broccoli and carrots was bland. My husband ordered Parmesan Crusted Flounder. He thought it was baked but it was fried. Also over cooked and dry. He didn't eat the other half of the fish.
My son ordered Steak and Lobster. No flavor and they forgot to bring him drawn butter.
For the price of $32.99 it was definitely not worth it.
We will not return again. Go some place else."

"Although I have been to McCormick and Schmick's many times, this time was a major disappointment. The service, although friendly. was off, and the quality and especially of the quantity of the food was greatly diminished from that which I have experienced on past visits. I am a member of Landry's Select Guest Club, so I used my $25.00 birthday credit to pay for part of the meal. I ordered the Surf and Turf special and my mother ordered the Sirloin Steak. Mine was tasty, but an extremely small portion, while mom steak was devoid of flavor. At almost 70.00 after the credit was applied, the price was excessive for the quality and quantity of food received."

"I selected this restaurant to meet up with a friend and it was a great decision. I came at a slower time and the service was great. I did't have to think about what I needed the young waitress was there at every point to offer and recommend. The food was so fresh and tasty. Fish and Chips was fun to eat."

"Please keep in mind this was Valentine's weekend so maybe they were busier than usual. We had a 7:00 reservation but were not seated until at least 7:30. The restaurant was quite noisy. We thought overall it was a bit overpriced; especially the wine. It is part of an upscale mall but most diners were in jeans and t-shirts. I don't expect that kind of crowd at a white tablecloth expensive restaurant."

"We went on Valentine's day to have a nice meal. I was expecting really good food and drinks especially since it was a special day. Food was okay and the first drink was good but the second one was not. I told the waitress that it didn't taste good and she came back telling me that they had run out of the one I'd ordered and apologized; brought me another.They should've told me that when I ordered the second. Service is good; very nice and courteous servers. I don't anticipate going back, there are too many restaurants around where I live that serve much more delicious food and drinks in that price range."

"It is a shame, my wife and I really liked the place, but our last two dinners have been a nightmare. I know fish cooks fast, but how do you send out 2 starters and 2 entree's in 5 minutes? We were stuffed, we didn't order desert, due to it. The Espresso machine was broke at that time anyway. The waiters or management is so concerned about refilling the table with customers, that it ruins the entire experience. I do not mind the prices, if it was a nice night out, but the last two have been bad. Dropping $100-$150 and then tipping another $20 to $40, and the nightmare parking lot over 6 months to 12 months out of the year, for the last 2 experiences seems not worth it now. They made me think about it, now."

"This the 3rd time that I have been to this resturant and was hoping for a new experience. For a start the waiting staff sat us at a table with a polace setting for one person. It took the waitress 20 minutes to bring another setting After our food had arrived.
The food was small p[ortions for the price that we were charded in our opinion. The beer was cold when we specically ordered it from the cold tap.
Not a good experience. I am wondering wehter to give them another try."

"The food was great. We had a good time. Except towards the end with the waiter. When I paid for the food I paid with my card. So when the waiter brought my card back I put zero for tip. Because when I go out to way I don't like to put the tip on card I always like to give to waiter. So me and my husband waited 15min for waiter to come back. I checked both sides of store could not find. So I went to the front to ask if someone could locate out waiter. The employees were able to show me where he was. So he was looking at the receipt and was going off furious with another employee about how I didn't put a tip. This whole time he did not know I was behind him. I waited till he finish going off and tap him and said sir that was rude I waited"

"Unfortunately, we were sitted by the open cooking area and therefore alot of the wait staff congregated around our table. Also, because of the Valentine holiday, we felt rushed with our food. We usually enjoy our restaurant experience at the Hackensack McCormick & Schmick but will not be going there for any holiday meals in the future."
