Park Tavern
With an exciting mix of vintage fixtures, comfortable furnishings, and handsome textures, Park Tavern is an elegant spin on a North Beach neighborhood classic. Owner Anna Weinberg and designer Kendra Nicholas of Park Interiors collaborated to divide the room into unique, dedicated spaces -- the handsome marble bar, the terra cotta floored cafe with windows that open onto the patio facing Washington Park, the comfortable dining room with tufted leather banquettes, and an open kitchen with a chef’s counter.
Park Tavern will showcase Chef Partner Jennifer Puccio's talents with delicious American bistro classics and emphasize seafood from a wood burning oven. From raw to fried, expect boldly flavored dishes that you'll want to eat several times a week.

"Loved the different ways brussel sprouts are prepared. Amazing even for those that said they don't eat them! Cocktails and wine great selection. We go to SF every 4 months and try out different restaurants. We'll have to go back again to experience more of the menu. Wonderful service. love the decor and location!"

"Took my Mom here for Mother's Day and was nervous because I had never been before and she has some eating restrictions. However I was blown away by the service, ambiance and INCREDIBLE food!!! I literally cannot wait to go back. It was so delicious and fun and preppy (in a good way) and just gave off the best vibe. We really loved our time there. The corn beef hash meet was to die for!"

"This is a nice restaurant. Good neighborhood close to everything. The waiter was excellent. Some of the food: PT Fries were special but our main courses were not memorable. It was my son's 36th birthday and they brought a sparkler in his desert which I thought was sweet and thoughtful. My son & his wife say they will go again. I was a bit dissapointed in the food."

"Hands down one of my favorite spots in SF for ANY meal! Absolutely LOVE this place. The ambiance is incredible and the food is amazing. Favorite items: Shortrib hash for brunch, pork chop, burger, NY Steak, & the DEVILED EGGS! Even to pop in to the bar for a drink is worth a visit! An absolute must try in SF!!"

"If you haven't been, Park Tavern is a must. Great food, great service, and a great time. If you can't get a table because of short notice, try the bar. They have a waiting list, but it only took us 15 minutes to get seated (the long public table is first come first serve). The main courses are great, but my girlfriend and I also like to dine on a number of appetizers, which are all amazing: burrata w/lemon chips, carpaccio, salads, gnocchi, deviled eggs (I normally do not particularly care for these, however I love them here), etc. They also have a great wine, beer, and speciality cocktail list. I will be returning in the very near future."

"Plusses: Décor is outstanding - warm woods, grey, black, brown, high ceilings, sidewalk dining. Front Desk welcoming. Food runners fast and attentive. Bar scene energetic. Excellent appetizers of deviled eggs, French fries with aioli. Herbed halibut off the charts! No bake cheesecake - WOW! Minuses: Bartender and server complacent - no customer service ethic - didn't care. Bones in the duck pate nearly cut my mouth. Wines by the glass had no imagination and weren't carefully chosen. Server did not know how to detail the table and left appetizer dishes on the table during main service."

"Overall a nice way to celebrate a birthday. Chopped salad - light and crisp. The pork chop was succulent, deliciously prepared and accompanied. Most amazing braised dino-kale (seriously) and large beans, with the scallops. Two points of constructive criticism: the lamb croquettes & sweetbread appetizer should either be reversed in name or use less of the flavorless sweetbreads; the shortcake dessert fell literally short of the rest of the meal including (stale-ish cake, too large a serving overall) though I think our server tried to warn us. Dining room is energetic and intimate w/your neighbors at the same time."

"I had high expectations after reading some of the reviews but was a bit disappointed by my dining experience. While the staff was friendly, professional and accommodative the food was not memorable. Perhaps they try too hard to be inventive or I may have simply ordered the wrong items. We had the Brussels sprout chips and the shrimp appetizers. If you are going to do a calorie splurge on fried food it should not be on Brussels sprouts! The shrimp were barely cooked and wrapped in a lard that was limp and then covered in a creamy sauce. For our entrees we had the pork chop and the halibut, both good but definitely not a stand out. The space had a nice vibe and the view of the park was nice."

"We were seated long after our reservation time but this was partly made up for by the fact that we were given free appetizers that were delicious. Food was very good but oversalted. My dining companion said the wine list was excellent. The noise was more than "energetic" (OpenTable's strange upper-limit category). A businessy unglamorous crowd and seemingly no North Beach locals which, in my book, is not a good thing."

"This was our second time dining at Park Tavern and it was not nearly as good as our first experience. When Park Tavern first opened it lived up to the hype. Now the only remarkable feature is the ambience; it's definitely not the food! We ordered the pork chop which was fatty and was left unfinished and the cod fish plate was a bit bland. The brussel sprouts with brown sugar sounded good but lacked in taste as well. The dessert was also a disappointment. We ordered the Its-It and was given the smallest scoop of ice cream. We envisioned it would be an ice cream sandwich like a traditional Its-It, but the description on the menu was misleading. Additionally, the service was attentive, but we felt like we were being rushed. We will not return."

"we came in with coffee from starbucks, and were asked to put it in their ceramic mugs. while i can appreciate the interest in not having "other-brand" coffee in the establishment, it's brunch. and people get coffee while the wait an hour for a table. and we ordered two cocktails each and a starter. while the guy was polite, it left the wrong taste in our mouths - i don't think we'll be back for brunch."

"The food was very good but the service was poor. Waiter asked for our dinner order before we had a chance to order a cocktail. Ordered an appetizer that never came--we were compensated with a tiny serving of ice cream. Noise level so high hard for 2 people to have a conversation."

"We dined at Park Tavern to celebrate our 27th anniversary. I had eaten there once previously and enjoyed it immensely. And on this second visit, the food, service and ambiance were outstanding. Our meal began with butter gem lettuce salad which was perfectly dressed; and their famous deviled eggs. This was followed by the parmesan gnocchi which was perfection! Main courses were the chicken and the halibut. Both were again outstanding. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, refilling wine and checking in to make sure everything was fine. Park Tavern is a great example of why S.F. is such a wonderful place for foodies."

"Overall had a great experience and the food was delicious. Our only complaint was that our table was super close to the table next to us. Also, the table was super small for my liking so the whole meal felt like a juggle to keep everything on the table and keep from knocking over our wine glass. Otherwise the restaurant is definitely worth a try!"
