"One of the best meals I have had at a steak house and the best service. Don't be scared off because of it's attachment to a casino. I don't like to gamble but I would go back for the food and service. The wine list was okay..a lot of things I can get for $10 - $15.00 a bottle at Sam's Club for $10.00 a glass but it was worth it for a special occasion..Very Pricey and I probably won't go for a regular date night..it was our anniversary. Steaks $50.00 and up and some dishes a whopping $100.00. Portions were huge.. a bit too much so, but the service was impeccable. The atmosphere was high dollar steak house but the crowd was easy going and lively."

"We dinned at Hugo's at the Casino location. Restaurant was packed with groups..specoial occasion..couples ...celebrations. The atmosphere is high energy and fantastic service. We both had the sea bass which was delicious! The bar scene was equally alive and upbeat. The restaurant is well staffed and very attentive and helpful with menu suggestions."

"Felt rushed by staff to get out order placed and turn over the table. Kept interrupting our business conversation to take our order. Steaks were good. My baked potato was undercooked in the center and I had to send it back (I rarely ever send things back) --a potato should be perfect for price....and the relative ease of baking a potato."

"A great restaurant off Rivers Casino. Casino was packed, but entering restaurant, you were greeted by wonderful hostess staff that ushered us to a corner table. She called it the "Mayor's Booth".... but not sure if she was just joking. After leisurely cocktails, we tried their Bookbinder soup and the soup of the day (lobster bisque), both were excellent. With the soup, we decided to split an entree and a potato, and it was the perfect amount of food. We did not feel rushed, even though the place was packed. For lighter choice, the filet sliders would be great."

"I am not especially impressed with this Hugo's. Hard to understand the reasoning for not providing butter knives - but rather leave you to use an oversized steak knife for buttering bread. Also when wait staff removed bread plate midway through meal - a new plate was not provided, leaving us to manage our bread in mid air. Don't understand why balsamic vinegar is not available. Food was good - not great. Waiter was efficient but not friendly."

"Visited in February with seven gentlemen. Hugo's is a pretty typical Chicago-style steak place...good quality steaks, good sides, good seafood appetizers. All of us enjoyed our meals; seven of eight had a steak - standouts were the very good sliced tenderloin with foie gras, the crabmeat in an avocado appetizer, the hash browns & creamed spinach, and the lobster in an artichoke appetizer. You'd never know you were in a casino - so it's a great location for those from the northern suburbs who don't want to hassle with the drive all the way downtown; for those who want to save on parking costs; and/or for those who'd like to combine dinner with casino gambling before or after. Very easy to get to, easy valet parking. Under 21 not permitted."

We started with sautéed frog legs which were doused in some yummy lemon garlic butter. These were a treat! For the main entree I order the calamari covered in sweet Thai sauce. By far the best calamari I have ever had! The Thai sauce was delish! My husband had the hamburger which he said was really good. We ordered a Key Lime Pie for dessert. The slice of pie was HUGE! But, I guess big desserts are their thing because another couple a few tables down ordered a chocolate cake and it was honestly the biggest slice of cake I have ever seen!"

"Overall the experience was good. We had an early dining time due to later times were already booked. By the time we finished it was filled and very lively. Would go back again. It was our anniversary and they were nice to tell us Happy Anniversary but I guess my husband thought they would offer a piece of cake or something but they did not.
Also oddly they only have steak knifes and no butter knives. When we asked if they had any the waiter said no but he would give us extra steak knives. If you are giving bread with butter I would think they would have a butter knife even just one per table. That is all."

"Very pricey but very good. Their prime steaks are as good as it gets. Always perfectly prepared, and baked potatoes that almost seem the size of a football. Ala carte menu can really run up the cost if you wish to have a salad or side dish with you top dollar entre. Service is excellent."

"I've been to Hugo's downtown and this is not the same place. I have high expectations for a place where you are going to spend a couple hundred dollars for food and drinks. Our waiter seemed bothered to serve us. I could care less how busy a restaurant is. Manage your business. The food was so-so. I had the ribeye.It was not cooked as specified and was too fatty (there is a difference between a good marbling and fatty). The waiter never even offered us dessert. Good thing they are connected to Rivers Casino or I doubt they would make it. Even so, I would certainly not return or recommend."

"Went for Valentine's Day. Everything lived up to its reputation, not absolutely the best, but special enough to be worth the prices. The crab cakes are AMAZING. Worth the splurge ($16.25 for one). I got the planked whitefish, which was only average, needed the tartar sauce and it was dry. My boyfriend got the salmon which was very good. I would like to try the Gibson's steak next time, they looked delicious."
