Step inside one of Montreal's Spanish Basque restaurants and experience a night of exquisite taste of modern Basque Cuisine all tapas style also known as Pintxos. Located in Le Plateau on Roy Street between St-Denis and Blvd. St-Laurence, it`s an easy find. "The food came in with various services which were too long. By the time the services would come we were not hungry anymore and it took us three hours to eat...litterally. The people were nice and the ambience cozy but I would not go back."

"Définitivement l'un de mes restaurants préférés! Si la nourriture y est excellente et surtout très différente, le service est impécable. La carte des vins, principalement espagnole, est très intéressante. Le personnel se fait d'ailleurs un plaisir de nous faire découvrir de nouveaux produits d'un repas à l'autre. Laisser au chef le loisir de choisir votre menu, vous ne serez pas déçu!"

"I heard really great things about this place, so I was definitely excited to try it out when my family was in town.

The cons:
They had a problem with the grill the night we went, so 3-4 meat items were unavailable to order. Some of these I really wanted to try, but I do understand that this was an isolated incident...
Because the tapas are so small, the fact that they brought out only 2 or 3 at a time made the service seem really slow. We'd finish what we had on the table in about 3 mins, and wait 20 mins for the next tapas to arrive.

"Cute little resto! Staff was awesome, wine was great, and the view we had into the kitchen revealed something I love to see, big bowls of fresh ingredients and a lot of working going into made-to-order dishes. The Pintxo menu is quite large - we sampled 5 each, and some stood out while others were a bit less interesting. I suppose that's bound to happen with so much choice, but the specials and staff suggestions tended to be the standouts. Next time, I'll reduce the Pintxos and try some of the main dishes.
An extra special thanks to the staff for making some special allowances in seatings and reservations, it was really appreciated!"

"Atmosphère très agréable. On a l'impression de se retrouver dans un petit restaurant de San Sebastian. La nourriture est excellente et surtout très céative. Le concept de menu dégustation est parfait : quatre pintxos fixes choisis par le chef sont servis, et ensuite chacun choisit son propre plat principal. La formule est très économique, le prix étant équivalent à celui d'un plat plus deux pintxos. Plusieurs vins sont offerts en "demi-bouteille maison"; on verse la moitié d'une bouteille dans un carafon.
Quelques erreurs cependant au niveau du service; on nous a même apporté l'addition de la table d'à côté ... De plus, le système de chauffage pourrait être amélioré.
Mais somme toute, nous avons passé une soirée très agréable"

"We had a lovely dinner. They have a special dinner at $38 for 4 small entrées chosen by the chef and one meal of our choice which is ver affordable and everything was delicious. We would definitely recommend it and we would also go back. The service was excellent and again the food was delicious."

"The evening began well, server was friendly and the space was appealing. We reviewed the menu with the waitress and she suggested we allow the kitchen to send out 10 dishes. The first 2 dishes were good- cant go wrong with foie gras and chorizo. After that the food and service began to deteriorate. The waitress did not give us an indication of what courses would follow and when they might arrive- several intermissions were very long. For our 4th course we received a ricotta stuffed calamari which was edible though a bit tough. For our 5th course we received........the exact same thing. When we brought this to the attention of the waitress she did not seem interested and did not offer to change it."

"After being referred to eat there by my sister, I had high expectations. I found the food to be so/so, not great! The service was also lacking. We ordered a 10 course tasting menu and they forgot to bring 3 courses which I had to remind them of. Also, I found the restaurant to be loud and crowded. We went for a romantic saturday night evening supper only to have loud and boisterous families and a group of guys on a night out seated next to us. Not our idea of romance!"

"Fantastic restaurant. Took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day. Staff was very knowledgable and the food was world class. I would definitely recommend it and I would definitely go back. The beef cheeks were out of this world!"
