"This is my third time at Creola, all of which has been for a special occasion. The service and food is always amazing. However, it tends to be a little to warm in the restaurant in the early evening. My mother always enjoys the bread pudding. I love the pecan pie cheesecake . This is one of our favorite places."

"White linen tables, great cajun food - best I've found in the Bay Area. Love the jambalaya, catfish belle chasse, double cut pork chops (a frequent special), filet mignon. Alligator in interesting but not a standout, roast chicken quite good for the unadventurous. Carry a few good new orleans beers, wine list small but reasonable.
Desserts are house made and delicious, love the beignets and the bread pudding, pecan pie is quite good too.

Often have a special or two on the weekends. If they have the double cut pork chop it's a real standout. Dinner reservations advised but drop-in can work during the week. Service professional and courteous, as you'd expect for a quality, white-linen restaurant."

"Excellent for the price point ($30 Mardis Gras special, appies, salad, entree and dessert). Highly recommend the hushpuppies and crispy Boudin balls. Jambalaya was excellent as was the Shrimp Etoufee. Tables are a bit close together, but its a fairly small venue. Service was excellent."

"We tried to get in on a Wednesday night and they were booked until 8 pm. So we made reservations for Friday night (still couldn't get in until after 7). The place is very popular because the food is really great. We all chose something different from the menu and it was all delicious. Couldn't pass up dessert. My favorite is the bread pudding. Our service was slow but they don't rush you so you can enjoy your dinner. Overall I'd say that the food is great but a bit expensive. Definitely worth it if you want something different."

"Overall, we had a really nice time there. Our server Jesse was a very nice young man and was very accommodating, as we had a few special requests. The food was prepared very well, and we enjoyed the dishes very much. Until the age of 20 or so, I spent about a third of my life in New Orleans, as my late mother was from there. I am also a very capable chef and this kitchen puts out great dishes..."

"My husband and I dined for the first time at Creola on April 19th. The food was very good and you get lots of it. He ordered a side of red beans and rice that was suitable for a meal. Also, his jambalaya came with a wonderful grilled chicken breast that we were not expecting. You definitely don't go away hungry here. The drinks and wine were good and everything was quite reasonably priced. They also have what looks to be a great price fixe menu for only $24. We will definitely go back."

"have been there b4 but years ago and have been wanting to go back. Food is xcellent. Have not had a better roast chicken (sunday chicken), when I go to a restaurant w/ a roast chicken dish, am always afraid that it'll be dry, this definitely wasn't. We had the pre fixe menu ($30 for choice of appetizeer, salad, choice of entree, dessert), what a value! Also, they make the best red beans and rice that I've had anywhere. And there fried chicken is not to ignore. wonderful."

"The food was overall pretty good. The Shrimp & Crawfish Etouffee and gumbo are very good, not the best I've had, but very good. My wife ordered the Red Beans and rice which was supposed to have Andouille Sausage but it tasted exactly like standard smoked sausage. It is strange that both the gumbo and the red beans and rice both have Andouille and only the gumbo tasted like Andouille. The restaurant was noisy but, we were able to have a conversation without yelling. The service was very good, I have no real complaints, the servers did a good job. So far this is the best Creole food that I have had in the Bay area."

"I've been to Creola 3 times and have had a wonderful experience each time. The fresh crayfish are as good as those in New Orleans! The hush puppies and crab cakes are also awesome. "A wonderful restaurant . . . we've been coming here for many years and it's still a New Orleans restaurant gem hidden on the Peninsula. It's a small restaurant but the tables are not close so you don't have to hear your neighbor's dinner conversation. The Mardi Gras menu is a must . . . a great value for prixe fix. And the food is wonderful . . . the Wasabi Tuna is special. I've always like the Jambolaya but last night, I tried the Poisson du Jour and I was not disappointed. Service is very good but not outstanding. And the one suggestion that I would make is that the restaurant needs a bit of an update, especially the rug. But overall if you are in the mood for good New Orleans style food, this restaurant will not disappoint you."

"Everyone in our group loved the food and especially the hushpuppies. Two people ordered the red beans and rice with sausage (yummy), two had fried chicken (also yummy), the catfish and Jambalaya. Two bottles of wine and 3 desserts and were a happy group."

"Quite a good surprise! I sent my executive team to this rest despite the fact that was out of our way. The reviews are AMAZING, they LOVED the crawfish, the crabcakes, the tuna.... well the entire menu. They spoke about how ATTENTIVE the staff was and how the place was very nice and a great family owned restaurant. It looks like CREOLA has some new customers."

"I've driven by this place on El Camino so many times and always wondered what it was like. I enjoy cajun food but NoLa in Palo Alto isn't exactly gourmet. Again serendipity and OpenTable brought us here as we were looking for someplace nearby with high ratings and an opening pretty soon and Creola popped up. Why not. My fiancée was out of town on Valentine's day so this was to make up for that.
What a treat! We took the prix fixe menu at $30 and ate like foodie kings! Preparation and presentation were first rate, quite better than anything I've had in New Orleans itself! There's creativity and a whole lot of flavor going on.
Next time my parents come to town I'm going to take them as well because I know they'd enjoy it. Highly recomme"

"We enjoy the food on other normal days, but didn't like the set menu choices for V-day. There was no gumbo or crawfish. Typically, they don't have crawfish for people who enjoy NOLA cajun delicacy."
