Dining at Babette’s Café is like stepping into Chef/Owner Marla Adams’ home. She is equally as known for the incredibly creative Rustic European cuisine that she creates, as she is for her welcoming personality.
For nineteen years, Babette’s Café has offered the flavor of stepping into a world class restaurant that is tucked into the French countryside. The dining room offers a relaxed setting and the outdoor patio, which overlooks the serene setting of Freedom Park, makes diners forget that they are just minutes away from downtown Atlanta.
Dishes such as Chef Adams’ Steamed Mussels that are prepared in White Wine with Strawberries and Serrano Peppers, Artichoke and Olive Ravioli in a White Wine Butter Sauce and Beef Tenderloin drizzled with Gorgonzola Sauce have kept locals and tourists alike flocking to this culinary haven. "Babette's is one of Atlanta's best kept secrets. In a city of franchised food establishments, the short drive to the Inman Park / Virginia Highlands area is worth the time. From the outstanding staff, the dedication of the owner, to the food that is nothing short of fantastic, all at a very reasonable price point. This is 4 star cafe dining."

"Our first visit to Babette's Cafe was for a special occasion and it was a great pick. We had lovely service, great care for our old bottle of wine with a crumbly cork, a delicious meal, and, although the room was almost full, we could hear each other talk! We will return."

"A test of a great restaurant is how well it does on major holidays. We have been to Babette's for several Mothers Day Brunches and the staff and kitchen handle it incredibly well with every dish terrific. We always enjoy our meals there and walk away saying "we need to come here more often". Cheers to Babette's"

"Babette's remains one of our favorite escapes. The location is perfect, near Virginia Highlands and little five points, it's a great way to start the evening or just be the evening. We were seated on the porch for the first time and the ambiance was lovely. It rained a little which in the end, added to the romance. Servers were attentive, yet not overly present. As always the ravioli was excellent. We had Alaskan Halibut in a white sauce ... all I can say is YUM! Wine selection is good - you'll find what you want. If you are not a drinker and still like to live on the edge, I suggest one of the decadent desserts - we had the strawberry, rhubarb cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream and a cappuccino."

"My wife and I found Babette's years ago, and always come back when we are in town. Get a reservation, as it fills up. They provide a wondeful country french menu with a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Plan on eating and talking for a while. The service can be as fast as you want, but you want to take it slow."

"Babette's is superb for great food in a quiet environment. Perfect for us as one in our party is gluten free. They do an excellent job with gluten free and regular food ,too. The restaurant really gets the whole gluten free concept! One in our party (not g.f.) had the paella and really loved it! Service was excellent! They even have Lillett and offer a gluten free vodka."

"First time diners & celebrating our wedding anniversary. We pulled up in pouring rain and the valet helped us make it through the door fast and dry. We were greeted and lead to our table straight away. The staff had placed a pretty glass container full of Rose petals (ok, they were fake but still a great touch which made our dinner even more enjoyable). Our server, Christina (?), was excellent. She helped us with decisions regarding drinks and dinner and her suggestions were perfect. From start to finish, we enjoyed every bite. After dinner, we walked out to take a look at their outdoor balcony where several people were seated having dinner. It looked awesome. Thanks to all at Babette's for a wonderful evening. We'll return soon!"

"As always, Babette's does not disappoint. It was pouring down rain the night we ate there and as luck would have it, we sat on the back porch. The sound of the rain and the view of the old trees made it memorable. The food never disappoints! Our server was attentive without hovering. This restaurant is a sentimental favorite introduced to me by a friend who is now deceased so my friends and I try to eat there several times a year and toast Ken."

"I've eaten at Babette's often, never a disappointing experience (at least if you don't get the wrong watron.) Our waiter, Robin, was absolutely first-class, giving wine samples, offering to take our picture, not intruding into personal conversation, etc. Marla herself has never failed to appear at some point in the evening to welcome us. Don't expect large, American size portions. Quiet, lovely ambiance, suitable for either 1st. dates or engagements.
Go Tuesday - Friday and order off the $21 prix fixe menu! We had trout and lamb stew, beet salads, dessert, 2 glasses of wine, including tip we still got out way under $100."

"On a rainy Sunday evening, there is no where else to be but Babette's! We had a cozy table last night with exceptional service from Robin, great cocktail recommendation & outstanding meals. "We went to Babette's after a hiatus of several years--mostly to avoid being in a rut. Our expectations were modest, but they were very much exceeded by the tasteful interior, skillful and personable service, and excellent food. We especially liked the 2-course fixed price menu, which I think is available T-Fr. Reasonably priced, decent choices, and no need to get a gooey dessert unless one wants one for a fair price.

"Friendly and welcoming, quickly seated. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was just as quick, each course arrived in rapid-fire succession - from drink to dessert in just over 45 minutes. Also noticed that we were not presented with the specials, others were. Party of 10 was seated next to us garnered a large share of our waiter's focus. The meal itself was quite good: grilled shrimp and tabbouleh appetizer was a fresh note, salads were just meh; the dressings bland. Mains were the stars - short rib and beef tenderloin. We sat inside. The room is open and moderate in size, with warm ochre walls and a homey ambiance. Tables are nicely spaced. Recommend and would return, just ask them to slow the pace a bit."

"This was the 3rd or 4th time my husband & I have eaten at Babette's over the years, & it's always been a very good experience. As always, the French bread was excellent - best I have had outside of France! We had the steamed mussels w/ strawberries & serrano peppers, the goat cheese & spinach agnolotti, a salad & the Colorado lamb loin chops. The mussels were good, but the sauce was not great; I miss the "old" mussels marinieres - THOSE were was divine. My agnolotti was SO delicious I almost licked the plate. The lamb chops were thick & perfectly cooked (there are 2 chops); however the shoestring potatoes that came with the lamb were thin, deep fried, crispy potato sticks (not our favorites). An appetizer + main makes a BIG dinner."

"We've been to Babette's a number of times and always enjoyed it. This was a Saturday evening, for a special anniversary date for us. The restaurant was full, which is probably why it was so loud; we had to speak to each other above a normal voice. The food was superb, as always. Soup, starter and entree's, all excellent. Our biggest problem was the waiter. He did not introduce himself when he showed up. He never spoke voluntarily, or asked if our meals were all right, or the wine. He seemed....surly. I considered speaking to the manager before we left, but things were too busy. Normally I am a generous tipper, but for the first time in ages, I only left a 10% tip."

"Babette's is just a very good restaurant. Nothing flashy, just simple, neat surroundings paired with very good food and service. Portion sizes are reasonable, and presentations are pleasing without being "over the top." I started with a cup of the celeriac soup and my wife had the salad with beets, feta and oranges -- a seemingly strange combination which, however, my wife said worked very well. We both had the Chicken Breast Provencale which was nicely seasoned with herbs and garlic (which surprisingly, to me anyway, tasted more like rosemary than garlic). Couple the very good food and service with prompt valet parking and you have an extremely pleasant dining experience."

"This my first visit to Babette's and will definitely return and recommend to others. I went with my sister to celebrate her new job. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The menu is not huge but there is something to suit every taste. I especially liked the Pris Fixe? menu available Mon- Thurs. a great value! The quality of the food was outstanding and I really enjoyed that Marla stopped by the table several times. Can't wait to visit again!"

"Nothing is better than a evening at Babette's . This is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. This service is always amazing. The food is the best in Atlanta. No matter if we go for Brunch or Dimner it's the best. I had Scallops with grainy mustard sauce. They were so good I wanted to go back the next night to get them again. We also had their Mint chocolate chip ice cream. I love that it is home made. You can taste the real mint not just a Artificial flavoring that has been added.

"My wife and I dine frequently at Babette's. On this particular visit we selected the pork tenderloin with mushrooms special as our entree. It was unlike any pork tenderloin either of us have had, and far superior. We have no idea what Marla Adams did to make this dish so exceptional, but would love to see it added to the regular menu."

"Delicious. My only reservation is the portion size. I'm sorry, but receiving three ravioli's for an appetizer is absurd. Our dinner portions were appetizer-sized and our appetizers were bite-sized. With that said, everything tasted phenomenal. If you eat a meal beforehand, this place is perfect in regards to food quality, service, and environment. I highly recommend the lamb tart for dinner- unbelievable. Make sure to use the french bread to sop up the sauce from each plate. The sauce is otherworldly."
