"Actually a poor rating is too high for this restaurant. It was extremely disappointing as we had been told it was a restaurant "not to be missed." We were basically ignored for at least one half hour of being seated. This may have been the result of only one waiter (and an inexperienced one at that) was on duty. Getting food and drinks was like pulling teeth. The food did not live up to the hype and the view (which is supposedly the best in Baltimore) was obstructed and looked over a very ugly part of the harbor. I have heard they have filed for bankruptcy which may explain the lackluster performance but unfortunately it should be put out of its misery. I would never go back or recommend."

"While the view was spectacular, the restaurant was empty, but for a few tables. It felt very bare all the way around. In that we had a few older guests in our party who were hard of hearing, this was actually a plus.
The service was outstanding, but then again, there was no one else there on an otherwise busy Saturday evening in Harbor East. The appetizers and salads were delightful, as were the Seared Sea Scallops, Salmon, and Mixed Grill platters.
Great for a private, quiet dining experience. If you are looking for a lively atmosphere, this is not it."

"We came for a celebration and we were not disappointed. Last time we went to the Black Olive in Fells Point and it was wonderful but I must say the view from the Olive Room was spectacular. The dishes were authentic and flavorful."

"All four courses were perfectly prepared with fresh ingredients. Rockfish was especially outstanding. Server had good intentions but not a clue of how to take care of us."

"Food was excellent. Service was spotty at best, at times the staff did not seem to remember who they were responsible for. However, the staff was extremely pleasant. Once the food order was placed, the dishes were served promptly. Perhaps the staff was short that night. Over all we would probably return when the weather allowed outside dining."

"While there are some good things about this restaurant, like their friendly staff and view of Baltimore, you need to pack you patience and be ready for some disappointment. This place is very small and there seemed to be only one waiter which caused service to be very slow but they were also very nice. We were not in a rush so we did not mind but there was a couple next to us that left before they could have their order taken. Another downer was that we ordered the Lobster Saganaki which is a melted cheese dish however the cheese had started to harden by the time they brought it to us which makes it appear it was sitting out a while before they delivered it.
I would go back again but when it is warm and try the outside dining."

"We were given incorrect directions to The Olive Room by the staff when we called. After finding the restaurent the waiter never put our order in and came and asked us if we wanted dessert when he had never brought us our dinner. Worst service ever."

"I made a reservation at the Black Olive, a place I had visited and enjoyed before. The deception, intentional or otherwise, involved in this booking causes me to question the very integrity of OpenTable. The booking for the Black Olive was actually made at the Black Olive-The Olive Room. When I arrived I realized that I was not at the Black Olive, but I was told that this place was "owned by the same family." Because my guests had already been seated, I did not protest. I should have. Fair food. Slow service including multiple errors, no menus or water for over 20 minutes. Bread and EVOO, but no bread plates. Eventually I found the pitcher and poured my own water. Go elsewhere."

"I had an 8:30 reservation. We were seated at 9:00. After being seated, it was 20 minutes, and no one had given us menus or taken our drink order. I got up and approached the manager. Our server finally took our orders and it took an hour to get everything out. On top of that, our server rarely checked on us, as we had no drinks most of the evening. Several other tables were in similar situations and many couples just walked out. Not once did a manager or owner come and apologize to anyone. I overheard an excuse from another table that they were understaffed, but this was just ridiculous. 3 servers couldn't handle 10-12 tables? When, I make a reservation, I don't expect to be sat 45 minutes later. The food was great but I will not be back."

"As always the food was quite excellent - although only a few tables were full, the wait staff was clearly unhappy with our request not to be seated next to a noisy table with toddlers! It was 40 minutes before someone asked us about drinks--fearing another long wait, we placed our food orders too. While we were waiting for our entrees the waiter tried to give us the bill.Perhaps it was a staffing problem with only 2 waiters but is was a very disaappointng experience. I would recommend the Olive Room only because of previous good experiences"

"Horrible! The restaurant looked like someone threw it together that day. They ran out of half the menu and wine list and did not have to sense to tell us until we flagged the waiter down to ask where our wine was. They only offered a $55/person menu when we went, but after almost an hour, all we got was bread and water. Looking around the "restaurant", I did not see a single wine glass filled with anything, indicating to me they probably did not have ANY wine available. You know things are bad when half the restaurant keeps staring back at the kitchen wondering where their food is. The worst thing was there was no real apology to or compensation for the customers. Some people actually spent over $100 for that service! Ridiculous!"

"I dnt know why there are any negative reviews for this restaurant! I LOVED it with all my heart!!! It was my fiance's birthday and we went a bit earlier (at 5:30sh) and watched the beautiful sunset! I think it's one of the most beautiful scenes in baltimore! The food was AMAZING! The grilled calamari appetizer is my new favorite dish ;) It was a beautiful restaurant and a beautiful night as well!"

"Although I understand that the Restaurant Week menu is supposed to be smaller portions than normal, the portions we got were unreasonably small. For $40, I got a MINUSCULE amount of seafood pate, half of a glass of wine (which was $10, by the way) and some dry, tasteless, cold triangle that was apparently the "mushroom polenta". The seafood kabob and the sorbet were great, but I still could not get over how small the portions were. I am not sure whether this was the actual "Olive Room", or the owners just sat all of the Restaurant Week people in a glorified storage room, but it was poorly decorated, uninviting, FREEZING and left a lot to be desired for an upscale restaurant. Overall, in my party of 4, everyone felt the same as I do."

"Excellent greek food. Both appetizers and mains were flavorful yet simple at the same time. We visited for Restaurant week, and were happy with the selection available on the small menu. The wine list was not huge, but seemed to be full of sound selections."

"After making reservations we were told we had to go to their other restaurant as the could not seat us at the main restaurant. We were told the menu was the same and would be able to order all the same items. We left went to the other restaurant and then were told we could only order off of the restaurant week menu. We left. Would not return."

"As good as the food was, and it was very good, the atmosphere is so cold that it affected the entire experience. Maybe this is best left for warm weather dining."

"I forgot it was restaurant week, which is a bad week to try a restaurant for the first time. I actually wanted to try some of the items listed on their website on the regular menu, but alas, that was not to be. The Greek salad was very good as was the chocolate mousse. My lamb was okay; a bit chewy but good flavor. My husband had the vegetable pie, which was delicious. The service was very slow and not very attentive."
