"We were a party of 4 We all ordered differente cuts and they brought them exactly as requested we were pleasently surprised because most of the times we have to return the meat because is undercooked or canceled it after is burnt. The only detail we did not like was the fact that food took a little more than an hour to be served and the fact that the waiters were not paying attention. We ran out of drinks and no one offer a second round until we order it. Then we were sitting with empty plates for a long time, no one will take them away from the table I understand it was crowded for mother's day but we saw plenty of staff just standing not paying attention."

"I only had one problem, not with the restaurant but the surrounding area. The cats just wouldn't leave from around our table, because we choose to sit outside to enjoy the lovely view."

"This restaurant falls lower every time I go and price stays the same. Amazing location, view and setting but meat is dry, low quality and disappointing. Silverware is cheap and from 5 different sets in one table, not the kinda of thing for this price range. Waiters ask what you want, you request it and then they bring something else."

"Our party of seven was treated to a great experience. The food was outstanding and the service truly extraordinary. We had a great view from the corner window of both the Atlantic and Government Cut. Could not have been better, and worth every penny. Thanks!"

"Avoid this restaurant at Mother's Day. We were turned away for parking although we had a reservation. We paid $25 for parking several blocks away. The attendants were rude and extremely nasty."

"It was Mother's Day. Though we knew it would be crowded, the line for the valet just took too long and it was evident that there was a huge line to get the car back. We needed to be elsewhere at a specific time and it was evident we would be hard pressed to guarantee we would get there. We decided the valet service was unreliable, so we left."

"after making us wait for a while on our resv. ( we asked to sit outside ) we were supposed to get this table because i am a Founders club member ( S&W dining club) we ended up sitting inside....my steak was way under cooked and had to send back...they did not offer to keep other food warm while a waited ..then believe or not they looked like like they hardly did anything to it..still under cooked sent back and when return my guest was done..so i did not eat and they did not take my meal off bill ..we bought a bottle water of "pana" waiter poured it then took off with it when he returned is barely 1/3 filled and we told him to get new bottle and leave it --WOW-..very disapointed with food and service...

"It was my wife's 40th bday and had reserved they open table where I requested a few things and gave instructions . Upon arrival we got a table but non of my other request was done . The guy who was on the back entrance didnt even look at any computer so am sure that he didnt see my reservation. So none of my request which were supposed to be a surprise for mg wife's bday happened."

"The food is good, however the pricing for such place and the atmosphere is absolutely irrelevant.

The service is terrible, in case you want to move the table you have to place your order again, as waiter for some reason cannot pass the order to other waiter's section...

The service is slow, you have to check on your order couple of times...

The atmosphere is very poor in comparison to the price you pay. The place is not renovated at all, looks like a simple diner. Quite miserable looking.

And also when ordering filet mignon cooked medium, it is delivered to you well done..."

"We went here on our last night of our honeymoon in Miami. We were given a great outdoor table on the water where we could watch the sunset. The service was amazing as was the food, the mac and cheese is to die for. Would definitely recommend to anyone for drinks and or dinner."

"The view is worth every penny. The food is great. They also have a fun cocktail list and reasonable prices on cocktails and wines by the class. service was great. I took my boyfriend there and we had an excellent time. We will definitely come back when we are in south Florida again."

"The good was outstanding and our server, Ozzie, was perfect!!! I would definitely go back and request him. Also, it was my fiance's birthday, so I called ahead to make inform them of this special occasion. He was greeted with a birthday card and give a birthday dessert. We had a great time! "My wife & I went there for the first time. . Nice & quiet, very attentive and friendly wait staff. The views from this restaurant are fantastic. We mentioned to our waiter it was our anniversary, and they brought out a nice dessert with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate syrup which was a nice surprise. "Although the view was spectacular (except for the four stray cats roaming through the dining area during our entire meal), the service was a true disappointment from the moment I approached the host outside. I advised him we had a reservation and asked for a table outdoors. He told me the outdoor tables were open seating and that reservations were "another story." He actually sent me inside so that I could alert the hostess at the front door I would be dining outside. At this price point, one would think he could have communicated that to her. I ordered a salmon dish with a tasty risotto. My daughter had chicken fingers that had no flavor. The server did not check on our meal, and I had to make multiple attempts to flag him down."

"Overall, we had a nice experience.. Steak was really good, oysters were fresh and well presented, side dishes were as expected, and the service was a little above average, but not superb. "This is our favorite steakhouse strictly for the taste of the steak and the nice people watching along the pier. This time though my steak, which I ordered 'medium' was more towards medium well or well done. So hopefully it was just an anomaly. Other than that, it was a good experience. There's not much you can do when your steak is overcooked. We didn't have time to wait for another steak."

"Although I reserved well in advance, we had to wait and got a table in a sideroom directly under the freezing air-conditioning. Crabcakes and clams were superb, steaks ok had better ones. They ran out on porterhouse. French fries were reheated, soft and greasy, had to be replaced. All in all seems to become another tourist trap on South Beach. Red or Prime 112 are far bette."

"The food was delicious as usual and also the table service was very good.
However, we made some experiences with the reception. Although, we reserved a table already weeks ago, they had nothing ready for us and wanted to offer us finally a pretty bad table what I refused.
Due to my resistance we finally got a table which we wanted, Smith & Wollensky NY seems to be better organized!"

"We celebrated my parents 58th wedding anniversary last Tuesday. I made reservations and indicated it was a special occasion. They had an anniversary card on the table for my parents which was a very nice touch. The service was amazing, Virgil our waiter engaged my parents and was energetic and attentive the entire time. This is not our first time at Smith and Wollensky Miami but we were impressed with the food, service and friendliness of the staff. Great experience!!!"

"Food was good (beef was predictably excellent and sides very good; dessert quality was not memorable); service was inconsistent and surprisingly poor given the pricing and reputation of this chain. Greeting/seating was indifferent; table service was initially attentive and tapered off quickly from there to the point of being stranded 20 minutes + to receive the check after finished dining; forgot coffee that our table ordered with dessert (was not forgotten on the check); and forgetting to bring part of the dessert order.

Since you're likely coming here for the location and view my impression is they can skimp a little on the hosting and service."

"The fried calamari app was nothing to write home about but the creamed spinach was spectacular. The dry aged sirloin was cooked to prime perfection. The service was a little slow and inattentive as our water glasses sat near empty for major portions of our meal. Overall a great meal."

"Food was exceptional - our steaks were amazing and the service was excellent! All this coupled with an excellent view made for a perfect Easter dinner. Even though the restaurant was buzzing with people our waiter made us feel like we were the most important customers he had."

"Last sunday my family went to celebrate my mom's birthday at Smith and Wollensky.
Unfortunately, we got a server (Mike), who shouldn't be in the service industry. He's attitude was totally wrong. he didn't even put the plates on our tables but just "handle" those to us... he took half of the orders and we had to call him again to ask for more drinks.. unbelievable.
We tried to make him smile at least but at every try, he just kept looking at us in a weird way.
After the dinner, we told the manager in charge and he seems to care even less!!!
He told us it was a busy day! so... I guess if you want to try this restaurant, pls make sure the staff is in a good mood and also NOT stress out. Maybe that way you can get a good service..."

"Gave my table away and then had the nerve to tell me that I did not have a reservation. There were two managers that did not know what they were doing and when I showed them my open table reservation they squeezed us in and seated us looking at stairs. The waiters were very lazy they did not attend to your needs and they were leaning on columns yawning. Very unprofessional and unattentive to the guest for a restataunt that is so pricy."

"I think they should advise customers who have made reservations that there are NO reservations for outdoor seating nor any priority given to people with reservations. The meal was lovely and the service was very attentive but our primary reason for selecting the restaurant was to dine outside."

"Food was great, enjoyed the location on the water watching the cruise ships go by, service was among the worst I have ever experienced at an upscale restaurant. Waiter was unfriendly, we were seated without menus and had to ask for them to receive, and despite having an 8 year old in the party we received no children's menu and had to ask about available options."
