"I took my college grad son to Stella's because he was crazing lamb. We went with other family and it was friendly and delicious. He loved his lamb and everyone had a good and memorable time. I'd definitely do back."

"Each time I have been to Stella's the food has been consistently good, service great, and atmosphere special. We made an entire meal with sharing Meza and small plates. There are so many great things on the menu, but not just the small plates, the pasta and vegetable entrees are fabulous creations with rich flavors of tomato, cheese, spinach, and eggplant. I wish we could go there more often!"

"You have no reason to drive by Stella's, it's in a quiet neighborhood. You walk in the door and the place is vibrant. This tiny space is packed full of tabled with enthusiastic customers and knowledgeable and friendly waitstaff. I used Open Table to make my reservation because it's nearly Impossible to get a table without a reservation.
We had The greek pasta, the short ribs and the chocolate mousse all extremely generous portions. I can only begin to tell you how good each item was. But I can tell you, everything on the menu has always been of exceptional quality coming from there kitchen. We were able to take home half of everything we ordered and enjoy them the rest of the weekend."

"While Stella's may have the same name and the same menu, I feel as though they aren't exactly the
same. Lately, I've noticed the past few times, the portions shrinking each time. The food is so fantastic though, we keep going back. I was a bit disappointed this trip when my filet (well under half the size it was last year) was delivered very late to my table and was very, very well done when I ordered a medium.
The waitress was great and apologized but waiting for another steak to be prepared was pretty disappointing.

"Stella's is a Richmond Classic. The service was outstanding. The food was very good. The ambience is typical of a small place - tables are small and close together, the buzz of everyone conversing close together can be too much if you are claustrophobic or just need more personal space. It is hard to have much of a conversation without everyone else being right in the middle of it. Despite all of that, I still would recommend Stella's as long as you know what kind of place it is and you are okay with that!"

"I am Greek from NY/NJ visiting Richmond for the first time with a group of friends. I chose Stella's to see how it compares to NY or authentic Greek cuisine and because some of us were fasting for Greek Lent and they offered many meatless choices. I was very impressed with the quality and authenticity of everything we tried. The grilled octopus (test of greatness) was especially tender and tasty. Many dishes had a creative twist that went beyond the basic Greek diner fare- the mushroom saganaki stands out in this regard. The spinach pies and dips were excellent. The artichoke mousaka though interesting as a meatless choice was my only disappointment. The place is in a quiet neighborhood and seems very popular."

"The food at Stella's tastes fresh and wholesome. I especially like their tzaziki sauce, which has just the right balance of herbs and garlic. The pita bread was just out of the oven warm. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive and patient since some of our party of six were late for our reservation. A very positive experience and one I hope to repeat."

"I love this restaurant- we usually end up at the bar because I forget to make reservations in advance, but that's OK. "I love everything about Stella's, but this visit was less stellar than my visits in the past. I had a reservation for a group Friday night at 8:00, and we had to wait 45 minutes for our table. I've worked in restaurants myself and understand that you can't force people to leave to give someone else a table, but it was just a frustrating experience. If your restaurant is so busy all the time, perhaps you just shouldn't take reservations for groups. We would have happily gone to a restaurant that seats a group more easily. Other than that, the food, wine, and ambiance were lovely as always."

"First bad experience with service at this great restaurant. Entrees arrived before appetizers finished. Waiter inattentive and disengaged. Hostess interrupted to remove companion's meal before she was finished. Same hostess hovered over check, waiting for it to be paid quickly, presumably so that we would leave quickly. An unfortunate experience.
Diners appreciate a restaurant's need to turn its tables. But dining is an experience that should transcend the meal. A well-trained staff doesn't convey a sense of urgency to its clients. This is the difference between adequate service and extraordinary service."

"I have to say my husband and I were pretty impressed with Stella's overall. We were running late due to terrible traffic and they called to see if we were still coming. By the time we got there it was 20 minutes after our reservation and they still sat us which we were very thankful for. They just made us aware that there was another reservation for our table in an hour. The service was a tad slow but it was busy in there so not much of a bother. The food was great! We're used to eating at chain food restaurants and this was so much better! There was so inch flavor in everything and decent portions for the price. We live 2.5 hours from Richmond and my husband said he would find a reason to come back to Richmond to eat at Stella's again."

"Reservation was for Four at 6:30pm on a Friday. With that in mind, we arrived early and they didn't seat us until 7:00pm so we waited for over 30 minutes to be seated. It was only annoying because we had no where to stand or sit to wait for our seats. We were rotating between waitresses, the receptionists, kitchen staff, other customers waiting to be seated and customers leaving. If the weather was slightly warmer, it would have not been a problem to stand outside. Overall, the food was good and our waitress was very nice."

"I chose Stella's for my birthday dinner because the food is amazing. I had the filet w/ lump crab and my husband had the NY Strip and both were delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant, although make sure you make reservations in advance!"

"We have been there for dinner as early as 5:00 and as late as 9:45. A little less noisy at 5:00 but regardless of the time, the food and service are SO good. They had sold out of our favorite soup late Saturday night but what we had instead was delicious as always."

"Always a treat! You really have to plan ahead to get a table during the 6:00 to 8:30 period. If you show up without a reservation, they MAY be able to seat you at the bar or the large "Communal Table" in the middle of the dining room. It is well worth planning ahead! The normal menu has any number of delightful offeriings and we've never had any of their specials that were not, indeed, special."
