"We tried Pescatore on the advice of friends as an imaginative, local BYOB serving interesting food. One entree, a mixed seafood grill was shockingly regular and more tasteless than anything; the not very apparently grilled scallop, handful of shrimps and piece of lobster was less than appealingly complimented by some cooked red pepper and a pile of olives. We have done better on our grill. The crab cakes were good, but the accompanying sides (some sort of mashed potato and a few very over boiled lonely carrots and green beans) were embarrassing. An oyster appetizer was undercooked on one side; not a problem if you like oysters but not properly prepared. There is more I could say but space is limited. We shall not return."

"Waiter rude and dismissive. Didn't tell us what the price of the special Caesar salad was. Turned out to be as much as an entree. And it was over dressed. Three times the waiter told me I was wrong. I waited tables in an Italian restaurant for 20 years. Politely tell the customer what you know about, say, if the original, traditional Caesar salad was made with anchovies and you have engaged the customer not told them they were wrong.
Might go back if we make sure we have a different waiter and am told the price of every special dish."

"After requesting a table "not near the entrance" that is what we were assigned-a table right near the entrance. So either our request was not read or they did not care enough to honor it. In any event, that eliminated any chance of "outstanding experience."
Despite that hiccup, the service was very pleasant, enthusiastic, and competent.
The food was spotty. Meatballs were bland (unanimous opinion of all 4 at our table) and not exciting. The chicken (ordered by 2/4 at the table) was not very tender (per their report). On the other hand, the pasta in both my entree ( papardelle) and side (spaghetti) was very fresh and perfectly al dente. The tiramisu was excellent.

"Food was amazing. Host needs work. Service is much better when the chef's mother is hostessing. A shame that indifferent hosting can color an experience negatively. The servers hovered like vultures waiting for us to leave so they could swoop down on our table. WE initiated the "thank you and have a good night" to them.If we'd had this experience our first visit, we probably wouldn't have come back.Chef's mother always a pleasure to have hostess - lovely, warm and sweet - too bad we missed her that night."

"Last night was our first time here. Asked my wife to find a place using OpenTable and sure glad she found this one. To begin they brought us bread with a dish of pesto in olive oil and shaved parmesan cheese. It was great. We each had the house salad; a nice mix of bitter greens, olives, onions, etc. I had the Spaghetti Pescatore, a LARGE spaghetti dish with a white wine sauce and crab, mussels, clams and shrimp. Wife had the ravioli special of the day. Both had desert. She had tiramisu and i had a ricotta cheesecake. Decaf cappuccino to end it out. Delicious."

"Our experience was quite a disappointment as my girlfriend and I had heard GREAT reviews about this restaurant. The appetizers were average at best. My friend and I both ordered the special of pan seared scallops which had never seen the bottom of a pan. When we mentioned this to our waiter that they appeared to be soggily broiled raher than pan seared he smugly responded "that is how panseared scallops are made. Our husbands meals were also "average". My suggestion would be Fellini's (any of them) or Trattoria Giuseppe for great flavors. And no I have nothing to do with either restaurant, I just value good food, good value and professional customer service."

"We had a great evening at Pescatore. The food was excellent. I had the best scallops I think I've ever had. Our waitress was very attentive. She had a long list of specials down to a "t." Everyone was quite friendly; the owner's mother came over to check that we were enjoying our meal and gave us some background on the restaurant. Although the room was quite busy, the noise level was still low enough for the 4 of us to converse easily. Overall, the ambiance was quite pleasant and we will certainly be going back."

For that it should knock off your socks. The lamb shank was good - but the risotto it was on was basically slightly mushy rice. Tasty but not in any subtle way and quite over-sauced. The arugula salad was a little tart in an unpleasant way. Our waitress was very nice and enthusiastic - the food just didn't live up to that. Wanted to love it; didn't much like it."

"Noise level is much improved over last time we had dinner at this location. Food was excellent, though the red velvet cake (on Valentines Day) wasn't quite as moist as it could be. Tiramisu was marvelous however. I had the scallops and truffles while my spouse had the filet. Yum!"

"We were here for Valentine's Day, and everything couldn't have been nicer. In addition to the regular menu, there was a special Valentine menu that was reasonably priced for an appetizer, entree, and dessert.
This restaurant keeps to its reservation times. The food is well-prepared with appropriate service. The menu is sufficiently varied."
